13 was way too umm..something..japanese? I don't know. I couldn't finish it either.

I couldn't finish 13 either. It's not because it was too Japanese. It just plain sucked. It went straight to the bargain bins in Japan and got trashed left right and sideways by the Japanese gaming blogs.

love all of them, but ff6 the most

I got to beta test that one at square They fed me, gave me a free hat, t-shirt and game (when it was released)..my brother actually discovered the relm vanish/sketch glitch but they didn't fix it for some dumb reason. Ive forgotten what I contributed exactly..I probably named a couple of monsters..but I know that I tried to get them to rename fenixdown to phoenixdown..there was no reason for the abbreviation..they had enough letters. That still irks me to this day. Definitely one of the best games of all time..

Sure, I had pretty much the same experience with 8..cool story that fell apart later. I also thought it was super annoying having to drain all of your spells from enemies. 9 was a good throwback to the glory days..again though it never seemed to hit its stride..just sort of sailed off into mediocrity. 10 was alright..I did like the story and characters. I thought the battles were ridiculously easy..I think I only died a few times the whole game. I didn't find out until later that there was a whole universe of side quests and fierce boss battles after you've completed the game. I think my brother put like 100 hours into that alone.

12 I didn't like the battle system..13 was way too umm..something..japanese? I don't know. I couldn't finish it either. I kind of wish they would make a new 2d final fantasy game..though the graphics are awesome I cant help feeling something vital is absent..

Probably some who will disagree but I think after FF7 the quality of Square games really plunged. I used to be the hardcore fan, even worked for them for a time, but I never had as much fun as I had with their lineup on the Snes..like Chrono Trigger or Secret of Mana..or my all time favorite game, Final Fantasy 2

I agree a bit. Final Fantasy VIII had one of the coolest storylines up until mid third disc, I mean, a bunch of teenagers running around as combat pro's and getting paid for it? When you're 14, that's cool.
FFIX I never really got into, it took a turn for the weird with its art style, but the characters were memorable at least. The auction was kinda cool though.
FFX however, With the exception of most of yunas lines, and the ending sequence where tidus becomes a whiney bitch, that was a fantastic game. The Aeon system was cool, blitzball was freaking amazing, despite it being the first "Non-open world." Truly, I think FFX is one of my favourite Final Fantasy games, right up there with 7. I won't keep going into detail, but I did play FFXI for years, XII was interesting, but I couldn't actually finish XIII.

Yeah, that's something that square can just never seem to do right is port their games properly. Though there are mods out there to update the graphics and make them more servicable.

Agreed, although it was a pretty high standard I think. The one exception was that I really enjoyed FFXI quite a bit, although it had some stupid ideas such as no NA servers and no jumping and how they just ported the PS graphics to the PC version.

Robot Chicken: Final Fantasy 7: The Fast Food Industry

What gives you more pleasure, Final Fantasy or Robot Chicken ? @kceaton1

If I could have both at the same time like this, it would be completely obvious.

Otherwise, it's Robot Chicken. Now if we could create a videogame-Robot Chicken-Spielberg/Lucas/Nolan/James Cameron/Ridley/Peter Jackson/Guillermo del Toro /Joss Whedon (to keep the others on the up & up) and then Hans Zimmer/Williams (I know)/Jerry Goldsmith/Trent Reznor/Cliff Martinez/ & Dennis McCarthy for sound. Lot's of the people involved would innately clean up mistakes (like Lucas at some point; for example).

It would be the best thing ever...

Did you want a short answer?

Final Fantasy 7 - Knights of the Round

Crunchy says...

>> ^dbalsdon:

Weren't you able to equip that summon with the quadra materia, and have it cast 4 times in a row?

Actually no you couldnt, the materia you're refering to is probably Quadra Magic and it allowed use of a magic or summon 4 times in a row except knights of the round cuz that would be to overpowered however you could equip W-Summon (2 times), you could also equip it with magic counter (up to 8 times if im not mistaking, not sure since i didnt bother mastering it 7 times)

Fun fact: if you combined knights of the round with HP absorb, MP absorb and magic counter and had ribbon you were 100% unkillable and automated even while fighting ruby weapon (Final attack + Pheonix just for safety )

Chopping wood... the right way.

Robot Chicken the Force Unleashed Ad

Lol quite funny. To bad the game sucks just as bad as the original did.

The game is definitely worth a playthrough if you like Star Wars in any fashion. It's basically, Star Wars *with the force powers over the top), a well written story and plot that fits into the mythos (except for the powers, but that's part of the fun).

It's more of an action-RPG for those wondering if they should play it. You level up (decide what powers/ attack combos/ and passive skills to put up), get to find hidden accessories for your lightsaber (let you deal more damage with force powers, more damage with your lightsaber, conserve "force stamina", etc...), and it has two endings going for it.

The story is better than the prequels... Even though it's straightforward and simplistic at times, it will make you play enough to get to the next story outro/intro. It sold a LOT of copies and was highly reviewed. But, I would listen to the gamers on this one as it's a platinum seller just on the XBox-360.

P.S.- I'm talking purely about the first "Unleashed". But, considering what I saw in the demo for the second, I'd guess that I'll be expecting the same quality/stuff plus the story is continued... The combat seemed far more "cleaner" in the "TFU:2" demo as well.

-- People have different tastes and expectations. Just turn the difficulty all the way up (it'll force you to learn good tactics and combo usage). I'd take "The Force Unleashed" anytime compared to: Halo:Anything, Gears of War: 2, Final Fantasy VIII-XIV, any EA Sports game, MoH 2-x^n, etc...

-- I'm not trying to be dismissive @Xaielao, but I thought I should do the very least of posting my completely different viewpoint. I also, got the game for ten dollars. So that helps.
