Hail is the evolved beast-cousin of Cicada, and is another docu-drama based on the real life stories of actor and ex-con Daniel P. Jones. The Hollywood Reporter describes it much better than I could:

Daniel P. Jones is an artistically inclined ex-convict playing a lightly fictionalized version of himself in Aussie auteur Amiel Courtin-Wilson's out-there docu-drama. Dissonant and brutal, but also unexpectedly tender, Hail melds coarse reality, extreme close-ups, nightmarish montages - including one featuring a dead horse falling from the sky - and a soundtrack that's alternately jarring and lovely.

Hail was the first Australian dramatic feature in nearly a decade to screen at the Venice International Film Festival and today we have word that the film has also been selected for Rotterdam, which starts later this month.

I've seen a docu about that already and even just being reminded of how they treat those animals makes me sick and fucking angry; to the point where I have to stop myself from wishing those people to be skinned alive, because I abhor violence.

Why do you stop yourself wishing they should be skinned alive? They SHOULD be skinned alive. They should all be executed in a manner fitting of their crimes. They have inflicted more than enough animal cruelty and murder to equal many human lives.
There is a difference between being an evil person that inflicts violence upon others for criminal purposes, whatever they may be, and being a good person that is okay taking out the trash of humanity, while treating all others with kindness and respect.
Violence is horrible, but is a part of this world. Bad people rely upon good people appeasing them and wanting to 'not be violent'. Really... they should be wiped from the planet as quickly as possible.

Your family is being murdered, would you not use each and every means at your disposal to defend them at any cost? And, after saving them, would you then believe that your actions were justified? Of course you would (and so would the law). Throughout history man, sadly, has had to resort to base instincts and do the unthinkable to defend what is right. But combating evil with necessary evil, does NOT make you evil. It makes you a human and, though unpalatable, sometimes good has to fight fire with fire to ensure that evil does not succeed.

Funny story - This "actual footage" is from a planned "docu-series" that G4TV paid to film, edit, stylize and promote on tv and the internet.

Meh, then again. G4 probably just borrowed previously existing footage from the 8 or so conveniently placed camera the U.S. military deploys with every bomb disposal mission..

The docu footage of the real Kuklinksi around both the Sift and the tube is far more fascinating and horrible, and still will be no matter how much they polish this turd.

Kuklinski loved his wife and kids, who never knew what he did for a living until he was arrested. He was a terrible SOB, but both his parents were horribly abusive.

The vic in this scene was an overconfident partner who threatened to harm Kuklinski's family. Big mistake. They were driving along when Kuklinski shot him, while driving.

The ice cream truck has two stories. Another hitman, a crazy Vietnam vet, drove one into neighborhoods to do hits, but also actually sold ice cream to kids.

Kuklinski never tortured but did hack up victim's bodies after they were dead. He liked using an ice cream truck's freezer to thwart "time of death" measurements from that era's version of "CSI".

After seeing this, it's possible Shannon could be a decent Zod.

Absolutely a docu-prank. I remember I had to partake in this shit that they're poking fun at when the Misfits asked me to make them an Obeyesque print and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Fuck commercial art with Warhol's VU banana.
