The market drop is not from the memo. The market is fine , slight pull back from explosive growth. Hoped you did some stock shopping Friday.

As for the memo::: Bombshell.::::::
Using the minimally verified Steele dossier that the Clinton/ DNC ,( started by the RNC) then gave to FBI/DOJ is fine with me. IF IT WERE TRUE.

According to the head of the FBI's counter intelligence division, corroboration of the Steele dossier was in its "infancy" at the time of the initial
Page FISA application. After Steele was terminated, a source validation report conducted by an independent unit within FBI assessed Steele's reporting as only minimally corroborated.

The rubbing point is that the FBI/DOJ used this material supplied by Steele to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on an American citizen, Carter Page to indirectly to spy on Trump for political reasons.

Comey own words indicated that this dossier is “salacious and unverified."
McCabe testified “that no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISA court without the Steele dossier information”

Yet both signed off to obtain / renew the FISA surveillance.

The fact that the FISA has to be renewed every 90 days and that top leadership ( FBI Director James Comey, McCabe,) and others. The fact that they had to re-sign off every 90 days makes this even worse.

James Comey signed three FISA applications
Deputy Director Andrew McCabe signed one.
Sally Yates, and Rod Rosenstein each signed one or more FISA applications on behalf of DOJ.

They all knew this was a bad document and this was for political reasons.

McCabe wife working for Global Fusion GPS worked on this steel document. McCabe’s wife received 500k for her political run from Hillary Clinton.

The Muller investigation was started due to this dossier. An un verified political slanted document.

This is just the starting point for the American people, as more info is put forth.

With respect to the FISA court itself-- they did their job. The information brought to the court is to be true and accurate.

I want to hear your take on the memo....I know mine.

Do you, like me, see the stock market crash as a response to it? I feel like those CEO s that are banking on Trump's policies were horrified to see what was being presented as a defensive move, because there is nothing there. Zero. Nada. Zip. Even if the accusations are true, and they aren't as presented in it, there wasn't a thing there that violated FISA or normal procedures.

I'm really curious if you still think it's a smoking gun of some kind, and not just a whining note from a retiring sycophant with no fact or legal charge included....and if so, why and of what?

Irreversible: Rape scene (disturbing)

EuweChess says...

Hello, I'm ashamed to admit it but I have had jerk off many times with the rape scene, with that said, I once thought that maybe even the film's director is trying to put the blame on the woman's side, since from a wicked interpretation it's her fault to have changed the more quiet and polite guy for the sexually aggressive and still wanting to have him being down like the other guy and since she did not get that treatment she left the party and insisted to go without company even though her ex-boyfriend volunteered to accompany her, I'm not trying to justify that violence, rape is bad, no matter the background of the victim, men should not rape under any given circumstance

Aliens Movie - "Get Away from her, you bitch!"

CrushBug says...

Aliens was one of the first movies I watched on Laser Disc and the first time I saw a "director's cut" of a movie. My cousin and I were watching along and suddenly there was a scene with sentry guns. We were like, "WTF?" We had seen Aliens twice in the theater and rented it on VHS a few more, and had never seen this scene before.

That was when I learned that the version of the movie released to tape and on other pay to view formats, was at the purview of studios, but Laser Discs weren't covered in their contracts, thus affording directors the ability to add deleted scenes that they wanted in the original theatrical release.

That was when we started renting other Laser Discs and started seeing longer movies, such as The Abyss with the original, longer ending, Terminator 2, with more scenes of the T-1000 breaking down, and some others. Hmmm, I just noticed that the last 2 I listed, and Aliens, were all James Cameron movies. Neat.

The Problem With DC's Heroes in Movies and TV

Mordhaus says...

He is a bit off about the Nolan batman, which I felt was highly focused, and dead wrong about Batman killing people. There have been quite a few arcs in the comics about a Batman who killed people due to certain circumstances.

He is correct that most of the DC directors just seem to ignore the everything except the most basic memes about the heroes. I can also sum up DC's failures in two words: Zach Snyder. The man simply doesn't know how to make a functional superhero movie (yes, that includes Watchmen, which I liked but was underwhelming compared to the source material).

Nerdwriter - How Not To Adapt A Movie

Drachen_Jager says...

Hollywood big-budget productions have lost all sense of artistry (with few exceptions). The directors all seem to think that audiences are inherently impatient twitch machines and if they hold on a shot for more than two seconds or give us a chance to breathe we'll get up and walk out.

Maybe that's true for some audience members, but you can't create art for the lowest common denominator and expect to produce anything great, or even good.

They wonder why Rotten Tomatoes and audiences are forsaking them? They need to break out of the corporate group-think and embrace artistry again. Yes it means you stink sometimes, but they produce big-budget stinkers anyhow (emoji movie anyone?). At least it would give filmmakers a chance to be great.
