I'm on a boat, motherf... no wait, I'm in a Tesla

Mordhaus says...

The S has a biodefense mode option. The cabin becomes somewhat airtight if you activate it. Also, the battery pack is sealed vs leaks or water.

Musk tweeted in response: We *def* don't recommended this, but Model S floats well enough to turn it into a boat for short periods of time. Thrust via wheel rotation.

Rick and Morty the lost episode.

Prince - Let's go Crazy (Live 2007)

moonsammy says...

I've been trying to find a high def version of the entire 2007 halftime performance (of which this is the first part) and have failed. Aside from being an astounding musician and performer, he was ludicrously skilled at getting recordings of his material removed from the internet.

VideoSift v6 (VS6) Beta Front Page (Sift Talk Post)

lucky760 says...

Def not right. Browser? Resolution? Screenshot?

newtboy said:

OK....on the new front page now the top 15 are listed on the right hand side....AND NOTHING ELSE. I have to scroll to the bottom of the top 15 before the rest of the page starts. I'm certain that's not the intent, so something is wrong.

Jon Stewart Trashes CNN on 'Larry King Live'

Lawdeedaw says...

So...Jon knocks their choice to "bring in an unknown British guy" when he himself brings in a token black guy whose whole stick is opposite The Daily Show. I am not saying Trevor will be bad, or that he should't bring in his own style. He should def bring in his own style. But not some style that is polar opposite of what is known.

I am saying there were a thousand better choices that included well-known and loved females, Trevor's token appearances, while not bombs, were very so-so, and Jon doesn't even elaborate on why he picked the unknown, so-so guy...

Steam controller looking polished

poolcleaner says...

The mind link was never more present after the smartphone came out. I watch mobile noobs taking several minutes to type what I can in seconds.

SC2 pro gamers clock in at over 400 APM, with records over 800. 300 APM is about where you want to be before you even consider yourself a competitive player!

But we're not sure yet, right? That doesn't mean it isn't possible, but you will def need to practice, just like the pros.

I really like the concept of using 2 directional pads to make keystrokes. If you can play a bullet hell game, why is that type of movement not considered probable?

oohlalasassoon said:

Agreed on the typing thing but maybe there's a mind link we're not aware of. Seriously though, at least it's not overly expensive. 50 bucks isn't outrageous, so long as it performs at least at the level of an xbox360 controller, which seem to go for at least 35 bucks for wireless versions.

KUNG FURY - Official Movie

Awesome one-take fight scene from Daredevil

Xaielao says...

According to an interview I saw this was indeed one single take but they used the rooms to switch from actor to stuntmen and back. Most def one of the more realistic fight scenes I've ever seen and absolutely an homage to Oldboy.

Bragging Rights: Cyber Defense

dgandhi says...

Super combative terminal jokey from the winning team is on camera saying he can't close IE On a system that is supposed to be secure ... I'm guessing CTF at DEF CON would wipe the floor with these folks.

Claiming to have "won" against the NSA at the end, more like failed less than the others.

These exercises are fine in themselves, but anybody who knows what they are doing and has been tasked to comply with NIST security controls ( the ones the US Gov requires) will notice that many of the requirement unambiguously reduce the security of the system, and the folks who audit these projects don't care how bad it is as long as it's checked on the list.

The problem for the military is that regimentation, "sailor proof" instructions and other necessities of running a massive organization that has to assume the lowest common denominator just don't work in computer security. If people don't know what they are doing no amount of check-listing is going to solve the problem.

Anybody who really knows what they are doing -- as some of these students may one day -- will realize that you have to choose one or the other optimal security or regulation compliance.

disclaimer: my rant may be excessive, I just wasted 18mo building a server cluster that needed to pass gov audit - so I'm bitter

Your Brain On Shrooms

BoneRemake says...

I think you might be confused who you are talking to sometimes. There is a lot wrong with your statement here. You equate the other posters knowledge of molecular structure of the drug and it's experience itself because of this statement...."yeah, you def. didn't do enough and/or the right strain." Then you cross over/confuse what I said about theraputic effect. You have no clue how much I take or the effect I am affected long term by.

I sternly suggest you go over your messages before you submit them, and stop being so ass hurt when someone gives you a downvote, its a fucking button click you take as someone kicked your mom in the head. You mention DMT you get a downvote, tired of your broken record one note pony bullshit, now I am learning you are presumptuous and projecting.

shagen454 said:

Thank goodness we have someone else here on the Sift (other than myself) that truly understands both the molecular structure AND the experience itself! I think "walls breathing" with a slight "therapeutic effect" would result in a Shulgin rating of 1 - where as the correct dosage with the right strain could very well end up with a Shulgin rating of 3 /5 potentially 4 -

yeah, you def. didn't do enough and/or the right strain.

All they've ever done for me is make the walls look like they're breathing and make the lighting brighten and dim spontaneously. so for me kind of a waste of time and they taste like shit.
