He saw there was a hive in the tree before he cut it, no way around that, the bees were flying in and out right in his face. I can't figure out why he didn't -1)put on a bee suit 2) use some smoke to calm them 3) wait for a cooler time of day when they're calm to do the cutting and/or 4) (best idea) call a local bee keeper to come remove them. You can almost always get one to come for free if it's really bees and not wasps or hornets, most extermination companies will know at least one.

Also, it seemed he cut right through the hive without any effort to keep it intact. That was a guarantee of an angry swarm (how would you react to a chain saw cutting your home in half?) and a likely hood that the entire colony will die. He really should have knocked on it to find the hollow part and made the cut lower and used rope to lower the entire hive.

My first bee hive was just such a hive that someone properly cut out of their tree in one piece, and it lasted me years before the chunk of wood rotted and they swarmed. I didn't even have a suit when I got it, so I just went at sunrise to collect it, and hardly lost a bee and didn't get stung moving it about 40 miles!

This hive could have been saved with minimal effort and way fewer stings, so in a way I'm glad he got the instant karma for destroying it, but I'm still sad that saving the bees is apparently not on most people's minds, not even arborists.

DON'T KILL BEES PEOPLE. Without them we'll starve.

I really should make my edited version of the series.. Cut out every single Scott Thompson gay monologue out. Not because i hate gays or Scott but having a 7 minute touching monologue in the middle of 20 minute comedy sketch show just does not work. Plus i hate the fake lisp, no matter if it's woman or man.

I found it odd/funny when the guy unloads the hoods which have been automated to that point, from the robots onto a pallet, where it goes back to full automation again. I'd think that step would be just as easy to automate.

Also like how the line seems to stop to let robots to their work while the humans are on a moving line. Like when the robots drop the windshields in, full stop, all human work the line keeps going. Lol.

I agree the thumbnail is odd. I could see it if it was a tube chop and the part about design and mold making was cut out. Not upset it wasn't there, but odd thumbnail when you start much later in the process. Also sad we see the engine go up, but don't see the process of it actually being assembled or the next few steps like wheels and the like all going on, just skip from the engine going up to final screws and testing.

I've never seen a car in my life that hides the door to invisibility? Could she not have just spent a few moments looking for a fairly clear outlined cut-out.

I feel like she knew where it was but was getting disorientated with how the car was positioned, as she kept altering her frame of reference. I'd like to believe this more than not being able to see the door.

Thank you for the link. To be clear, were these guys using walkie talkies and they failed? That's not obvious from the video. It looks a lot like they weren't and are trying to cover themselves by saying 'walkie talkies can fail so there's no point using them'. I'm being a bit grumpy about this and could well be wrong, it's just the way the video says 'walkie talkies can fail' not 'our walkie talkies failed'.

Buy good walkie talkies not cheap shitty ones and test them where you're going to use them. I've used them a lot at sea and not had any issues with the good ones. No technology is perfect, but there are still ways they could have mitigated the danger.

Another option would be to use a phone and a bluetooth earpiece. Open conversation throughout the run with the guy at the bottom of the hill. If the signal cuts out you slow down. It's really not rocket science. There really are plenty of ways they could have tried to avoid this.

But at the end of the day you're right, an open road is always a risk regardless.

Cops don't care what color you are. But if you listen to any (moderate size town) police band, you'll find that the majority of calls for criminal investigation feature young male african-americans.

So if you get a call to look for a male black, it's rather pointless, don't you think, to stop any Howdy-doodie looking cracker ass white boy?

But you sit in your little cubicle, protected by people who would risk their life to protect yours, and view your little videos and you're totally clueless.

Try to be a little more logical and a little less emotional.

In order to know exactly how incompetent you are as a surgeon, you need to have some level of competency. If you were completely ignorant of the body, you might think you could just cut out an organ and glue someone back together. You must have some level of understanding to know you don't know enough.

I can only judge the police on a person by person basis when they act independently.

Myself, I respect the police, and I obey and cooperate with them as required.
I've never done anything to necessitate any negative behaviour from them, so from experience, I have only good things to say about them. Though, I must admit, I've encountered some that were amazingly nice, and also some that were absolutely on a power trip.

BUT I know of three scenarios which Make them less than desirable.

1). The term Police should be synonymous with Peace (Peace officer). They are a team created to keep people safe. They uphold laws. Laws are meant to keep people safe.
But when they are used for other things, like aggressively engaging groups of protestors, they often behave against the people they have sworn to protect in insite more violent behaviours just so they can create arrests.

2). Police are given quotas. This is inherently corrupt. It's only purpose is to extort monies from the public and creates tensions between them and the people they are supposed to be helping.
It serves no purpose and forces even the good police to commit crimes against the people just so they can keep their jobs. These quotas are often passed down from ranking officers or higher up in the system.
This includes everything from Stop-and-frisk policies, to Speeding-infractions, to Roadside-vehicle-searches. It gives police a legal excuse to badger, bully, extort and abuse the people.

3). There are police not cut out for the job, and we've seen this in video time and again. The officer labelled as the "Hot Head". They over react, insight conflict, and use their position to create problems where none exist.
I can only attest to this example from what I see in the news. Being from Canada, we have different laws than the US, and I see this abuse most often in news from the US.
This type of officer either joined the system so they could be above the law, or has been tarnished and gone bitter along the way. They need to be weeded out and removed from duty.

All this being siad, the Police is an exclusive club. They are a close knit group of members which stand up and support each other. This could be a good thing. they need to rely on each other, especially in times of life or death.
Unfortunately, they also stand up for each other in times where they shouldn't. They protect the wrong doers in the system, cover up irregularities and just basically lie to cover up those officers breaking the law.
It's a system of "not covering up, means you can't trust others to come to your aid."

So, yes, we need the police. We like the police.
But if they don't rethink the way they operate, they only increase the gap between helping ind hindering the people. On the current course, they are forcing a large wedge between themselves and the people that are paying their pay check to keep them safe.
If you can't trust the police, they are no longer the police -- just thugs.

The good police need to stand up against the police that are abusing the system and making their job harder on a daily basis. Fix the system, fix the interaction, and then it will fix the work environment police work in.

I was disappointed the brutality was cut out. For once, it seemed required.

I'm mostly referencing the big news channels and their desire for having someone to interview on-screen. The best reporting I've seen about this current conflict has come from bloggers.

@radx The talking heads on the news outlets in the US have been spineless about everything for a long time now. I think it's partly due to fear of being cut out by the parties/administrations, and that they're more concerned with putting non-threatening well-dressed people in as the on-air talent rather than someone who is a good journalist.
