supreme skills - tops

newtboy says...

Hmmm. I wonder why neither team decided to lower the center of gravity below the contact point, since they would be spinning on the tiny raised cylinders? It seems it would be easy to make the outer ring hang below the point, so it would stay upright at 0 rpm. Does that somehow make it unstable when you spin it?

How to make a Hattori Hanzō katana (Kill Bill): Man at Arms

Djevel says...

Looks like hot ass and they were really sloppy with the craftsmanship. However, I really appreciate the effort they went through and the step by step procedural of it all, though. A lot better than their typical stamped steel projects. It was a good watch.

4 Artists paint 1 tree

FlowersInHisHair says...

This is so beautiful. I love the gentle tone, the obvious admiration of Mr Disney for his artists, and the dedication to craftsmanship from all of them as they tell the story of this characterful old tree; their respect for its nature, and the practised ease with which they find inspiration and apply their craft. It's really quite moving. My favourite sift in a long time.

the making of a Beretta shotgun

I had a similar thought only it involved Kurt Cobain. But even the ending they have is kind of surreal in it's own way, all that technology and craftsmanship and what's it for? To kill some birds, fuck you, birds!

They should make a video like this of assault rifle production and then show some psycho at the end walking towards a mall.

Beautifully made Stirling engine helicopter

Wait. What? It does fly? So if I hang it from my ceiling I have a sterling engine ceiling fan. Beautiful craftsmanship though. I'd be more interested in a video about the making of.

Birth of a Guitar

ChaosEngine says...

Wow, that was just *beautiful.

Although I feel like he skipped a step. It went from the body to the neck being finished without showing the construction of the neck or headstock.

Still, I will always upvote this kind of master craftsmanship and the fact that it's guitars just makes it even better.
