I just liked the speech by Chaplin some of the other footage I had seen, and I also thought this was well put together.

Huh. I never knew Charlie Chaplin did speaking roles. Also, his mustache (which I know he had first) still throws me off.

Every day each of us sees the good, the bad, and the ugly things that make us what we are. Chaplins message was laudable. But good, like evil, cannot be forced upon us (Brave new world), it has to be down to the individual. And, as long as we remain individuals - which we should- it can only be hoped that good will prevail. I believe education is the key. Those intent on evil, and power, have always preyed upon the ignorant, the weak, and the frightened.

Agreed. Absolutely fantastic, and goes into much more depth than the movie. Written by William Goldman, who also wrote All the President's Men, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, Marathon Man and Chaplin.

Was in the mood to watch Chaplin's Great Dictator and saw this.
