This reminds me a lot of Samsara or Baraka.
Baraka - 1992. Beautiful film.

Very Little Stars: Not Your Ordinary Timelapse
It must be a tribute to Baraka, it's a direct copy of the style and themes. In fact, I think it even uses some of the same locations.
One of the greatest movies ever made, IMO.

Sigur Rós - Heima
I think technically this is considered a concert film. So it's all about the art and beauty.>> ^eatbolt:
One of the most beautifully shot, yet completely pointless "documentaries" in existence. It goes right up there with "Baraka."
Sigur Rós - Heima
Baraka has plenty of meaning and connotations, I don't know what you're talking about.

*promote! Apparently they are making a sequel to Baraka, called Samsara...
Hayaku: A time lapse journey through Japan
Amazing. Beautiful.
Reminds me of Baraka, which is a fantastic Blu-Ray. I'd love it if someone made such a film except just all throughout Japan.

Mortal Kombat
>> ^mxxcon:
visually this movie is interesting, however i don't know if i like how they interpreted all these characters..
Baraka is a crazy body-mod doctor?
Sonya Blade is a cop? (she's a special forces member)
and the whole mortal kombat championship is for thugs?
i don't know...this could turn out to be a stinker
afaik MK and MK Annihilation or whatever the second movie was called generally stuck to games in regards to characters. Needless to say, fail (especially the second movie).
Being familiar with all the characters and their back stories from every MK game, I have no qualms about switching it up to be slightly more down to Earth for a movie like this.

Humanity vs. Yosemite Timelapse in HD
I'm a bit of a sucker for timelapse with Koyaanisqatsi and Baraka being in my list of favourite films... he did a pretty good job with this one although I would have told him to use a ND filter to make the sequences with people less stroboscopic and more fluid.
