Getting Ready for VideoSift 4.1 (Sift Talk Post)

Eklek says...

Some small issues I mentioned earlier:
-make channel order alphabetical, per letter, from left to right.
-the small inverted v that is used to indicate that "recently posted" is selected when selecting sift talk in the menu is rather small..
-URLs with _ and other special characters (often the case with wikipedia links) are not properly displayed in comments/video descriptions.
-some trouble with the (un)ignore toggle (users ignored I did not want to ignore and can't unignore) and bookmarking videos (videos/sifttalks bookmarked without having bookmarked them) (may not be a sift wide issue)

It's been there for a long while, and it just keeps getting bigger. Ships are actually avoiding it now because it fucks up their motors. You can't find fish in the pacific without some amount of plastic in their stomach.

Also:

And that's just from searching for "pacific garbage"

This seemed very disturbing to me, One thing I was curious about the kid that listed a number, so i went to the jewish virtual library, I found this-
In May 1944, numbers in the "A" series and the "B" series were first issued to Jewish prisoners, beginning with the men on May 13th and the women on May 16th. The "A" series was to be completed with 20,000; however an error led to the women being numbered to 25,378 before the "B" series was begun. The intention was to work through the entire alphabet with 20,000 numbers being issued in each letter series. In each series, men and women had their own separate numerical series, ostensibly beginning with 1.
I don't want to diminish his grandmother's horrific experience, so I'am sure he was just drunk and got the number wrong. The racist comments were also very suprising!

I honestly don't know how to respond to that. You think you know his family history better than him simply because you read a short text online? That number obviously means a great deal to him, so please, stop the "I caught you with a technical error" trolling.

Edit - Let me battle your internet-fact with my own:
"Approximately 90,000 female prisoners were identified with a series of numbers created for female prisoners in March 1942 until May 1944. Each new series of numbers introduced at Auschwitz began with “1.” Some Jewish prisoners (but not all) had a triangle tattooed beneath their serial number."
From http://www.ushmm.org/wlc/article.php?lang=en&ModuleId=10007056 by Googleing the phrase "auschwitz numbering"

Channel Categories (Geek Talk Post)

pffffffff I can see the lines...

...excel n00b

Anyway, from what I'm gathering this has nothing to do with adding to the limit of channels per each video right? This just has to do with how you select the channel on the video submission page?

I personally don't think it's broken as it is. This won't make it any easier...in fact it could make it harder. If I know something belongs in the "brain" channel I can use my alphabet skills and figure out where its at using a complex but accurate algorithm. There's even a song that helps young children learn this sorting algorithm. However if I wanted to find the "brain" channel under your new method, I'd have to try and determine where somebody else, or a consensus of the people decided where "brain" goes. That might not be how my mind works and I'd be confused and a little pissed.

Rachel Maddow talks to Ron Paul's son, Rand Paul

Enzoblue says...

What I don't get is why the media shunned Paul so much. I just have no idea why they tried so damn hard to keep him off the radar. Even CNN's website on the primaries - Paul actually beat McCain in Arizona, and CNN decided it was so close that they put their names in alphabetical order. It was weird.

I missed you, too. Remember how we used to be the best of friends?

...I know you're lying, because I define my "best of friends" as the ones who actually call me on the phone to talk to me when they're sober. So yeah, my parents are my best of friends, and you don't talk like my daddy.

6-Year-Old's IQ Is Higher Than Einstein's

LEX says...

Sorry. This shows the lack of intelligence in society.
One, they are measuring intelligence 80 years after the fact.
Second, you are comparing a 6 year old to a 30 year old.

Naming states in alphabetical order, dates and what day it was, ect show more SAVANT behavior than genius.

Einstein was never determined to be a genius until many later years in his live.
While some claim it was in the high 160's, it was closer to 220 plus.
Newer, and newer IQ tested dumbed down what determined his a long time ago, which should have been.

Show me someone who created the fundamental laws of physics, that 80 years from then, is still being followed?
IQ of 160 +. No. Don't think so.

If this kid figures out String/M theory, and can expand on that.
Sure, give him the honor.

If not, get this kid to a doctor. He is obviously savant.
Daniel Tamment has that characteristic as well.
The boy with the incredible brain. Watch the doc.

This isn't amazing and he isn't "smarter" than Einstein.
