Screaming Woman In A WRC Rally Car

She's screaming because that car is basically a roller coaster that's not on a track.

I don't buy it, there is almost zero shuddering in the camera, they aren't bouncing in the cockpit at all, no evidence of powerslides (heads slapping back and forth)...
I'd say they are on a flat track and she's just skitzing out.

It looks like it's the acceleration that's getting to her, she's relatively calm in the corners, and only squeals a bit in on decel. I'm sure that the amount of noise from the car being gutted is probably unnerving her too. Most people just aren't used to their senses being assaulted in any way, seemingly especially her because it definitely doesn't look like he was doing anything crazy

I wonder how she'd react if she was in Ken Blocks car

Hilarious Irish Rally Co-Driver

In many rallies (including WRC) drivers are allowed to pre-run the stages with their co-driver and create their own pacenotes. Other times the organizers provide official pacenotes that all teams must use.

Each team has their own style, but pacenotes are a sequence of shorthand created to describe the course. Particularly, the distance to, and severity of corners along with other track anomalies such as jumps or cautions. This particular team (crazy as they are) used speed guidance as well, by means of proper gear selection.

In example:
100 K right 2 into 400 flat

Would be read on the course to mean 100 meters to a level 2 severity kink to the right which then opens to a 400 meter flat. Bend severity is generally rated 1-5/6 where 1 is tight and 5/6 is loose (this can be flipped, depending). Flat means floor it!

136 mph Car Rally Jump

rubadub says...

This is absolutely ordinary for WRC cars and happens all the time. I was at one time infatuated with WRC, Subaru in particular. As for the make of the car, the blue and yellow along with the bulging wheel wells seems to indicate a Subaru. That is simply an educated guess. It might be a lower class, but I'm not sure if the lower level WRC drivers would be daring enough to take a jump at such speeds.

For comparison: (different livery, same idea)

i don't know about the speed it was taken at, but you guys really think this is fake? i mean cmon, what reason would there be to fake it? rally cars jump like that all the time. do you guys watch wrc at all?

as for the shadow, the curvature in the road is probably what causes the shadow to appear as if it's jumping ahead of the car. the car itself (almost looks like an evo, but i can't tell for sure) reacts correctly it seems. *shrug* i dunno... i guess i just give everything too much credit.
