When I was sock-puppeting here i used a number of proxy servers, all crappy and unreliable. I'm more concerned about the NSA recording every keystroke than having my identity stolen. They can have my identity, I ain't usin' it...

TOR refers to 'The Onion Router', which is basically a proxy system that runs through a bunch of layers to ensure anonymity. From what I've heard from people who have tried it, it leads to very slow browsing speeds.

It can also provide access to the 'Dark Web' which I am led to believe is 90% paedophilia.

Personally I just do what you do kymbos; adblock and ghostery. I also have a very light social-media presence. for general users that should be enough.

Strangely enough I was able to access VS through the TOR browser which then led me to this fix which worked great. I was just about to call my cable company and accuse them of blocking the site too heh.

I support this, though most people won't see their accomplishments. People need to go with the hype and at least it will bring most awareness to the Deep Web. 4chan is like some dork dada experiment - the deep dark web is deep, dark & stank. Complete anonymity is awesome when people are just & righteous, it unfortunately goes both ways though and there are plenty of Child Porn sites on the deep web that are fucking huge. More than likely your Republican senator or your priest at church are the gross fucks posting this shit.

I don't want Tor to be reverse engineered but I hope Anonymous can take down those sites and bring attention to Tor. You're either a political activist seeking refuge, a paranoid weirdo, buying drugs or uploading/downloading child porn. People should know.

So sad.... but I always like when a good vid has another go. Title can make a difference, time of day, and of course, there are brand new Sifters who never saw this before.

LOL, I was implying EA, not BioWare And for the record, I don't think anyone is a schmuck. In fact, half the time I want to invite people down to the pub on the main floor and talk video games with them as most forums don't allow for enough clarity or flow of conversation. Then I forget I am on the internet and you could be on the other side of the world.

We have certainly made our mistakes over the years, as a company, and we try and learn from them and make things better. Sometimes we succeed, sometimes not. But we keep trying and moving forward. Game development hasn't gotten any easier over the years, but it certainly has gotten a lot more interesting!

Maybe you will like some of our future games, and we can suck you back in at that time.

Game isn't out yet -- this is just a trailer.

But I'm worried about whether they'll be able to deliver the goods on this one too. Dragon Age 2 was a big letdown, and I've already grown tired of SW:TOR.

However, ME1 and ME2 were both absolutely awesome. ME2 didn't have the kind of plot I expected the sequel to ME1 to have, but ME3 sounds like it's gonna bear more similarity to 1's storyline than 2's. It's also supposed to lay to rest a lot of long-running storylines (Geth vs. Quarrian conflict, the Krogan genophage, etc.), not just the Reaper/Sheppard storyline.

Lots of high expectations on this one. I hope they pull it off.

Since Grooveshark went dark for users from Germany today and Modify Headers hasn't worked properly for me in months, I thought I might as well add Tor-based anonymoX to the discussion. Never bothered with Hulu, but everything else works fine so far -- and it's easily configured to only trigger on a few select pages, like Grooveshark in my case.

I don't get this fascination with 'beating' WoW, if a game makes money and returns on investment, and it's players enjoy it, isn't that the definition of success? I personally hate EVE gameplay but people enjoy it and the company makes money. So it doesn't kill wow, it's an entirely diff game and appeals to diff people...


Also I don't agree that you "kill" a game that has reached the amazing success WoW has. There's no such thing as a WoW Killer...there's just the next logical step in gaming. Which I believe now is SW:TOR with it's fully voiced quests and all that jazz, it makes me feel like I'm playing a single player game. That's all I've ever wanted when soloing in a MMO.

Interesting talk. SOAPA looks like the start of a whole new "war on drugs" style regime. Be very afraid of governments seeking to ban TOR.
