Looper - International Trailer
>> ^jjw001:
Am I the only one that doesn't get the premise? The young guy is willing to kill himself from 30 years in the future? Who's going to do that? First hurdle and the story stumbles.....
Was explained in the american trailer - he kills everyone until he meets and kills himself (the mark will be himself as an old man). He won't know in advance which one or when, but eventually one of the marks will be himself. From that moment the killer is retired from his dirty job, and gets enough money to swim in for the rest of his life, which will be until some time in the future, when he's old and weary, and will be sent back to be killed by himself, closing the loop. Thus the name "Looper".
See - simple.

Uh... no. He's been killing lots of people for the future mob. Made tons of cash. He's supposed to treat this like any other hit, but he recognizes himself.

What part of "international trailer" did you not understand? This is a UK trailer, not an American one.

Still...there's gotta be 1,000 simpler ways. I'm sure there has to be more to it then just that.>> ^Sarzy:
>> ^Grimm:
I want this to be good...and I'm sure the movie will do a better job explaining the premise then the trailer...but...what is the advantage of sending someone back in time to then be assassinated?
Much harder for the cops to investigate a murder when there's no body, no murder weapon, and even no murderer to be found.

The premise doesn't make sense. Why would you want to kill yourself?
You live like a king until you get sent back in time. A lot of people would see that as a fair trade, being as it's going to be at least 30 years of the high life.

according to interview they CGI'd Joseph's face with key features of Bruce Willis, so Bruce would pass for a future version of Joseph. Since they play the same character.
Also
from the screenplay to explain the premise a tiny bit more.
After a Looper kills himself, he becomes retired, but he won't know when of course. He would then get to live out his life with the money he's made until the point where he's sent back in time to be killed, therefore closing the loop.
Bert and Ernie: "Gift of the Magi"
Hooper. You're right. Special.>> ^therealblankman:
It was really, really special to see Mr. Looper again.

Flying pizzicato cello by Stephen Katz
The thing that amazes me is that it sounds like that he's using a looper, but he isn't.
EveryDay Looper - Coolest iPhone App?
I've been using this for the last few days and it's a lot shittier than expected.
No stereo, very noisy limiting.
In regards to how this stacks up to other loop devices, this is pretty shit. Most other prosumer loopers have stuff like fx, stereo input/output as well as midi. Totally different ballgame. But it's a fun and cheap little app nonetheless.
