Thank you so much for the quality. I'm glad you liked the vid.

Taxi had an incredible cast. Judd Hirsch, Danny DeVito, Carol, Kane, Andy Kaufman,...

While I haven't been much for Network TV for decades, this show, Night Court, Northern Exposure, ...there have been a few that were just too funny.

Good luck to you and thank you again.

Hahahahha, I have never seen this show and this makes me want to watch all the old episodes involving Jim. *quality humor from Christopher Lloyd

Yeah well I ended up watching a whole bunch of episodes on youtube. Jim is definitely my favorite character.

Bonnie Poe as Betty Boop - My Silent Love

Funny you should ask....
Betty Boop was modeled on (ripped off from) the actress Helen Kane.
At one point, Helen sued the studio for stealing from her, but by the time she did it, her fame had dwindled and the fame of the cartoon character had soared.
She lost the lawsuit.

-Mae Questel also did the voices for Betty Boop and Olive Oyl-from the looks at dates, they switched off regularly-Helen Kane was a popular singer in the 20s who did a handful of films, her popularity began as a vocalist-

I think it's been pretty clear for a while that IGN has been getting paid off. They consistently post the earliest reviews and clearly get advanced copies before anyone else - that simply doesn't happen by magic. If bribes were happening, then this would clearly benefit both parties. Publishers could ensure that the pre-release buzz for their product is positive maximising that all-important early take-in and the gaming site would see a huge influx of visits when it is the only one providing the opinion.

I'm sure they're still willing to call a spade a spade when push comes to shove, but if it's on the cusp, I bet they'd have no problem with either pushing up to an 8.0 (which seems to be the magic number for worth buying), or inflating it up in the magic 8.0 to 10.0 range if enough money were to change hands.

Maybe, this is just the ramblings of a paranoid but the whole Kane & Lynch fiasco, purely judgement based notions of what games deserve and this seems to all but confirm it in my mind:

http://www.gameswire.net/news/reviewer-odst-is-underwhelming_316.html

What would be interesting if someone did a comparative study on the major gaming review websites and the scores they give across different publishers, I would hardly be surprised if that confirmed it.

CineMassacre: The Top 10 Worst Movie Clichés

>> ^nach0s:
I would add #11: "The misunderstanding". Over-used in television more than movies, this happens when one character and the audience knows a certain fact, but another character in the scene doesn't, and has a misunderstanding that is often milked for WAY too long as you're sitting there thinking "WHY DOESN'T CHARACTER 'A' TELL CHARACTER 'B' WHAT THE REAL INFO IS, AND CLEAR THIS SHIT UP, DEAR CHRIST."

Actually, one of my favorite lines from Friends was "Oh, I think this is the episode of Three's Company where there's some kind of misunderstanding." Until they said that, I never realized that EVERY episode of Three's Company had essentially the same plot. One could argue shows like CSI have the same plot, but it isn't the exact same people doing the crimes.

Secret Talk is merely the film version of the dramatic aside, where a character steps to the side of the stage and talks directly to the audience. Usually this is an internal monologue, but there are a few places where two characters should be audible, given the circumstances, but it is assumed that they are not.

Far more egregious, IMO, is unnecessary tension created when a secret talk occurs that the audience isn't in on, especially when there are other secret talks that include the audience.

As for the 360, there's a reason why it's a relatively new innovation--cameras are small enough to allow for rapid movements without a HUUUGE crew in the wings to support each shot. A 360 shot is meant to defy the expectations of the viewer. While it doesn't completely eliminate the Fourth Wall, it suggests a freedom of perception and movement. I'd imagine AVGN would have had a problem with the opening of Citizen Kane, as, in short order, everyone was mounting a camera on a crane and breaking the 2-D plane that had limited films up to that point. Was it overdone? Sure, but like everything else, it got boring and was put away until someone had a really NOVEL use for it, and dusted it off.

And it should also be noted that there's a 'trip' in The Book of Eli that doesn't result in a complete loss of balance.

I wish this had been posted in its entirety so as to stimulate the discussion it was meant to stimulate.
I agree completely to the reasoning that it was made. Rap used to be a bold cultural statement that was uniquely that of it's creators.

The music industry had bastardized it into marginalized pop music at best. It became the trend to use the music to rise up out of the poverty. Once this trend started, The industry started to engineer it's own studio created blase crap and as long as money was involved, every one went along with it.

I miss the days of Run DMC, Kurtis Blow, Grand Master Flash, Shinehead, Big Daddy Kane, Ice-T, Roxanne Shante and rest of the artists who pioneered the movement. I can't stand the stuff they call Rap now, the mainstream crap that flaunts a big bass, naked girls and MTV style.

It's like if U2 sold out and started making Pop albums and sat back and waited to get paid!
The Empowerment these artists garnered for themselves is all but gone. Sucked into the void of MTV and money sucking "soulless" big business, just like every other fresh music style to come along.

But that's just my opinion....

Big Daddy Kane - Smooth Operator

MrFisk says...

Well excuse me, take a few minutes, to mellow out
Big Daddy Kane is on the mic and I'ma tell about
a minimum length, of rhymes of strength
and power, so listen to the man of the hour
Flow and go to a slow tempo and you know
sing hoe, swing low, then yo the show
will go on, as I perform
Transformin on stage like a Decepticon
But I'm not animated like a cartoon
I'm for real, shootin lyrics like a harpoon
Across the crowd, the listeners, the spectators
So let's groove with the smooth operator

The B-I-G, D-A-double-D-Y-K-A-N-E
I'm good and plenty, servin many and any
competition, wishin for an expedition
I'm straight up dissin and dismissin, listen
Rappers act so wild, and love to profile
Frontin hard but ain't got no style
I give nightmares to those who compete
Freddy Kreuger, walkin on Kane Street
Confuse and lose abuse and bruise the crews
who choose to use my name wrong, they pay dues
Destruction from the exterminator
But in a calm manner, cause I'm a smooth operator

Now girls step up to this
One simple kiss, and it's over Miss
Sold to nice dreamers, high as the price seem
girlfriend, you been scooped like ice cream
So just swing or fling a gathering try to cling
Cause It's a Big Daddy Thing
And I'm lovin em right word is bond
So just play Marvin Gaye and Let's Get It On
I make it real good like Dr. Feelgood
To make sure that my point is understood
That when it comes to this there's none greater
Sincerely yours... the smooth operator

Now ain't that the pot callin the kettle black
Sayin I'm a new jack, you need to be smacked
The smooth way I say em and the way I display em
to make them sound different in a way that's gifted
and hey I'm, makin sure every lyric is done fine
And I make one line, bright as the sunshine
Attack you like Robatussin on a cough
If you know like I know -- step off!
Competition, I'ma get rid of
You can't get a bit of, so just consider
a break or rest vacation hibernation
And make way for my smooth operation
I'm a smooth operator
