Wow.
You really need to go back to school and learn how to read, or you need to get to the institution because the dementia is full blown. You really are a silly little boy, aren’t you? You thought this proof of your prepubescence and illiteracy was worth posting. Honestly, if your account wasn’t 13 years old I would be sure you were only 12.

What I said is the sham investigations BY republicans are only finding Republicans who violated oaths of office, ethics rules, and who hired “whistleblowers” that are revealed to be disgraced agents that sided with criminals and who are now paid political actors, and are in fact disproving the “crimes” they are meant to “investigate”, and proving time and time again that Republicans are actually guilty of what they accused Democrats of doing.

Every accusation is an admission, and Republicans have 3 “investigations” looking into their accusations/admissions and finding Republican crimes.

Benghazi all over again. The Big Lie all over again. Republicans are so incredibly stupid they never learn from their mistakes and just keep trying the same failed tactic of making up a ridiculous charge against a political enemy then spending hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars disproving it. Already done with the Twitter investigation, now with the weaponization investigation, what’s next? Laptop investigations? Trump doesn’t want that….his has top secret classified information copied into it with a digital record of which countries he’s sent it to, and the child porn.

I’m truly sad for you that your dementia has gone full blown. It’s been a time talking with you. Best wishes for your family.

PS- looks like you might lose FOX soon. Handing confidential campaign information from Biden’s advertising contracts to Jared is both an FCC and FEC violation big enough to repeal their license, and the suits have already started over that. After the $4.3 billion they’ll lose for lying about Dominion and Smartmatic, and the admission under oath by every talking head at Fox and Murdoch that they knew the big lie was a lie all along but spreading the lie got them more money from you suckers, going off the air completely is going to hurt. Good job, crazy lying far right media, you’ve managed to lie yourself into the poor house and soon off the air.

D’oh.
New reports indicate more ACTUAL censorship by the disgraced ex president, this time calls from the White House to Disney execs demanding they severely reprimand or fire Kimmel for telling Trump jokes.
And
In 2017 he had his fcc commissioner Oje Pie directly threaten to investigate Colbert over Trump jokes he made on his show.

Since you pretended to be concerned over your misinterpretation of the Twitter files, you MUST be outraged at ACTUAL government censorship, right? Why not?

Today’s Republican election fraud…. right-wing political activists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman who tried to intimidate Black voters with a robocall ahead of the 2020 election claiming that voting would expose their personal information to police, bounty hunters, debt collectors, etc, charged with multiple felonies in multiple states, required to send out follow up robocalls explaining that the previous call was full of misinformation designed to intimidate voters, who the FCC is pushing for the largest fine for robocalling ever, $5 million.
They both just plead guilty in Chicago, just one of the states they pulled this fraud.

Crazy how there seems to be another one almost daily not just discovered, but usually plead guilty to….always MAGA republicans, the anti democracy, anti freedom, anti reality party overflowing full of racists and child molesters.

Mr engineer, when there are two parties, sentence structure demands you use plurals….both sides have THEIR share of undesirables. An engineer should see grammar as a clearly defined structure that follows simple rules and just get it. Spelling is different, but grammar should be a no brainer….why is it so hard for you? Have you never seen it that way, or was engineering incredibly difficult for you too?

The difference being one side is all undesirables, and the level of undesirability. One side openly calls for an end to American democracy, death for their political rivals, death for anyone who disagrees with today’s talking point. One side has no party platform, no stated goals, and exists solely to stop any legislation the other side puts forth, even when it was something they want or that would benefit them. They are the same side.

We found another point of agreement.

Term limits are a must, and will never happen because our system does put the regulatory onus on those who need regulating….absolute insanity. It also lets them set their own salaries, ethics, and benefits.

Divestment is another must. Perhaps a bigger must. Total divestment across the board. Not just blind trusts that aren’t really blind, and absolutely not what we have now…the “honor” system run by the honorless. Allowing legislatures to write horrific laws because they can personally financially benefit is a recipe for disaster. That should (but never will) change.

Campaign finance is a third must. Corporations should have the same donation limits individuals have, which should be more like $100 each so every person can afford to have a voice, and we should return to an equal time on broadcast tv for free situation and deny the media as a political platform to give candidates a boost….no more Fox News interviews indistinguishable from campaign commercials, no more media smear campaigns, with severe penalties for violations, like $10 mil the first time, $25 mil the second, loss of fcc license the third. Another non starter….but needed badly.

PACs should be outlawed, or regulated into obscurity.

Some reasons often brought up in opposition to term limits can be traced back to Maddison who wrote "[A] few of the members of Congress will possess superior talents; will by frequent re-elections, become members of long standing; will be thoroughly masters of the public business, and perhaps not unwilling to avail themselves of those advantages. The greater the proportion of new members of Congress, and the less the information of the bulk of the members, the more apt they be to fall into the snares that may be laid before them,"

I think we have proven at this point the cons of self serving representatives legislating for personal gains outweigh the benefits of professional legislators, especially seeing as we have the internet and huge staffs to ostensibly level the playing field of knowledge.

One fix would be the creation of an ethics branch, completely non partisan, not self regulatory, with rules against former candidates (winners and losers) and lobbyists too from serving and strict rules about how they operate, and bans from running for office or being a lobbyist afterwards so it doesn’t become a campaign platform or tool for industry. Maybe even ban close family members from the same. Won’t happen, only the best people intentionally limit their powers, and they are few and far between in Congress….all but absent on your side.

Cheney is 1 of the "others"

Term limits should be a must, but we have "the fox watching the hen house" so this will never happen.

Media is the problem of the day. If reported news fairly then America becomes stronger and united.

Biden as you secretly agree is not presidential. Joe just is not up to the task. This is sad. Sad for Americans. It makes America weaker on the global stage. People surrounding him pushing "this is what is needed" and going with it.

All that yo say below about trump and his media is the same for Biden and his media lapdogs, and that IS the problem.

Have a great day,

Did You Ever Imagine The President Could Act Like This?

newtboy says...

Let's not forget his executive order due this morning, drafts of which now released show him contradicting the first amendment to the constitution and directing the FBI, FTC, FCC, and DOJ to harass, punish, fine, and censor private businesses if they fact check HIS lies on their private platforms in any way....or apparently if the Whitehouse makes any complaints about them...and directed all federal agencies to not advertise on any platform the Whitehouse deems "unfair" (so soon the government will only advertise on OAN).

Where are the right wing 2a nutjobs now? They often claim the 2a exists to protect the other amendments...get to it people. If you don't go armed to the Whitehouse to protest this direct violation and decimation of the constitution, you are admitting that argument is bullshit and so is the 2a. You people went armed to state government buildings to forcefully protest public health orders because you were told they might violate your rights somehow. This time there's no "might" about it, Trump declared an executive order that is a direct, blatant, undeniable violation and attack on the constitution so clear even you can see it without Glen Beck telling you it is one.

Capitalism Didn’t Make the iPhone, You iMbecile

newtboy says...

But.....Bcglorf said: Capitalism (or many unrelated civic freedoms) made science and progress possible. The implication is that without capitalism, science and progress are impossible.
Edit: my mistake, vil said that, not bcglorf.

Also, the video is about contradicting that exact contention.

No they aren't, because America isn't just "an economy based on capitalism", which you yourself pointed out. They all come from innovations in systems and inventions created through American socialism.

Again, pre '68, before America went the socialist route to advance computer sciences, not after. Yes, after we used a combination of socialism and capitalism, we were more successful. That's my point.

China is working on 6g, and nearly ready with 5g. America isn't. That cannot be simply because China stole our advancements since they're ahead of us. They also, as you've admitted, developed better (cheaper/faster) manufacturing methods both because of technological advancements and few or no regulations (which have caused them horrendous issues). Funny enough, removing the regulations for more profit at the expense of the workers/environment is capitalistic, not socialist.

Their 5G is better because it's 1)almost ready to deploy and 2) cheaper. Ours isn't ready for prime time yet, and has used billions in public funds to get where it is. The FCC also proposed a $20 billion fund to expand broadband (5g)....that's not capitalism.

Ahhh, switching topics, eh? I thought the topic is capitalism vs socialism as it relates to invention, not fascism. I'm not going to bite.

Ok, personal enrichment is one of many incentives that drive invention, but invention happens without that incentive daily.

Once again, necessity is the mother of invention, not capitalism or profit.

You miss the point if you claim he contradicts that conclusion, because the systems invented that the examples require were ALL publicly funded. Without the socialist inventions, there would be no capitalistic innovations. No internet=no world wide web. No WiFi means no WiFi. No displays=no mobile computers/phones. No access to phone lines=no data transfers, so no internet, www, etc.

If his numbers are correct, 72% of research spending is public funding, not private. Nuff said.

bcglorf said:

your contention that ONLY personal profit drives invention or innovation.

I'm afraid I've never argued that, I can lead by agreeing whole heartedly that such a contention is false.

I merely pointed out that in a video about how 'capitalism didn't create the iphone', the authors own examples of innovations that lead to the iphone are all 100% from within an economy based on capitalism. My very first post stated clearly that it's not a purely capitalist system, but that it is noteworthy that not a one of the examples chosen by the author making his point came from a socialist country.

Can you offer a comparative American/Russian timeline of computer innovations
Well, I could actually. If you want to deny the fact that Russia basically halted their computer R&D multiple times in the 70s, 80s and 90s in place of just stealing American advances because they were so far behind I can cite examples for you...

And for some unknown to you reason China is beating the ever loving pants off America lately.
1. Factually, no they are not. The fastest network gear, CPU and GPU tech are all base on American research and innovation. America is still hands down leading the field in all categories but manufacturing cost, but that isn't for reasons of technological advancement but instead a 'different approach' to environmental and labour regulations.
2. Within the 5G space you alluded to earlier, there is an additional answer. Their 5G isn't 'better' but rather 'cheaper' for reasons stated in 1. The existence of their 'own' 5G tech though isnt' because Huawei's own R&D was caught up so fast through their own innovation. Instead if you look into the history of network companies, Canadian giant Nortel was giving Cisco a solid run for it's money for a time, until they utterly collapsed because of massive corporate espionage stealing almost all of their tech and under cutting them on price. China's just using the same playbook as Russia to catch up.

Russia beat America into space

Well, if you want to go down that road the conclusion is that fascism is the key to technological advancement, as America and Russia were largely just pitting the scientists they each captured from the Nazis against one another.

Once again though, my point has never been that only capitalism can result in innovation. Instead, I made the vastly more modest proposal that personal profit from inventions is beneficial to innovation. I further observed that the video author's own examples support that observation, and in that contradict his own conclusion.

Capitalism Didn’t Make the iPhone, You iMbecile

newtboy says...

In reality, it wasn't spare time tinkering at all, it was serious academics doing full time paid research funded by the government. ARPANET, while funded by the defense department, was designed by and connected college researchers, the first transmissions were between UCLA and Stanford in 69, not the military. This was the first networking, the infant internet.
The military system in the 60's was a point to point tonal encryption system that ran on proprietary bell telephone systems with dedicated direct phone lines until the FCC forced Bell to give up it's capitalistic monopoly in 68, allowing for advancements in both the public and eventually private sector that led to the infant internet instead of just individual "computers" (and I use the term lightly here) directly communicating. Remember, back then, almost into the 90's, you needed to know the direct phone number of the other computer to connect (think "War Games"), there was no publicly accessible network.
The first retail internet transaction wasn't until 94.

Also imo, it was weird individuals tinkering in their spare time that made home computing anything more than very expensive word processors/calculators. We've had PCs since the 70's in my home, I remember what they could do then....I'm one of those weird individuals.

Long and short, your 5 different capitalistic ways ALL stem from a purely socialist base and a socialist denial of private for profit monopolies, and most if not all of them were developed and implemented using at least some public funding. Without that, we would still be using bell telephone phone modems to direct dial each other. Without public/private cooperation, neither sector could advance like they have together.
Imo, it's not an either/or situation, it's both.

At the very least, the FCC should make spoofing phone numbers illegal. Or if the FCC won't do it, then Congress should pass a law making it a criminal act.

George Carlin on why the reason education sucks.

SDGundamX says...

George Carlin did this bit in 2005! That's 12 years ago, and look where we are today!

I mean, you look today at American government, about what's going on with the FCC and the recent tax bill, and you see just how average Americans are getting shafted openly by corporations. At least they had the decency to do it behind closed doors before. Now people like Ajit Pai just give the American public a big middle finger and smile for the cameras while they're doing it.

This bit basically predicted the election of Donald Trump with that whole section on how idiots keep electing rich people who don't care about them.

Meanwhile, you have people like Sean Spicer unironically saying that Oprah Winfrey shouldn't run for president because she has no political experience.

We are truly down the rabbit hole here and I'm not sure we're ever getting out again.

Officer Brandishing Weapon On ATV Motorist In North Pole

eric3579 says...

The video says Walker (ATV rider) told the police he WANTED to file assault charges, but the charges of assault that WERE filed were AGAINST Walker, and no charges have been filed against Brower(FCC officer).

The way the video told the story makes it confusing as they went from Waker wanting to press charges right to charges were filed(around 2:40). However they were actually filed against Walker.

bareboards2 said:

Um, it is the prison guard who has been charged and has been placed on administrative leave from his job. Unless there are other documents on line you saw?

The Alaska State Troopers who were called to the scene were showed the footage and gave Walker the opportunity to press charges, which he did.

Unless I am completely missing something?

Dems Double Down On Taking Billionaire Money

bobknight33 says...

The "justice democrats" is Unconstitutional in most of its platform. Hence its just a nut job dream. The TEA party desire to follow the Constitution. This in itself would limit government size and hence its corruption.

All corporate money should be taken out of politics. - Or at least cap corporate giving to a small amount say $2500. Some amount equal to what the average person/family could give.

Or better yet I would rather, since government control media via FCC Have media give equal FREE time to each candidate.

enoch said:

i really do not understand you bob.
i get that you are republican, and lean towards the philosophy of the tea party.

i have absolutely no issue with that, but didn't you admonish my post which was promoting the "justice democrats" as not being a grass roots anti-corporate establishment democrats, but rather a tool for outlets like the young turks? whose FIRST order to address.the FIRST thing they are going after is:money in politics.which is exactly what kyle is talking about.

kyle is also talking about giving the boot to not only all the corporate donors, but the very politicians that have LOST,consistently, because they are more interested in dialing for donors than doing their job.pelosi did not retain her position due to her political acumen and ability to pass progressive legislature, but because that woman is a money funding machine.

kyle even mentions the justice democrats!!!!
as a viable option to combat the corruption in the democratic party due to the corrosive influence of corporate money in politics.

you literally just posted a video by secular talk, which is a founding member of justice democrats!

so which one is it bob?

do you respect and admire a small group of democrats who are part of independent media and are creating a group to combat the corporate, establishment democrats? a group who is already
growing in size, and have already got some politicians on the ballot?

or are you sticking to your position you took on my justice democrat video, which was dismissive and critical?

please help me understand bob, because as of right now you are playing two positions that are philosophically inconsistent.

*promote bob's support of the democrats new caucus "the justice democrats",which i am fairy sure is the seventh sign of the apocalypse.
