The Great VideoSift Coming -Out Thread (Happy Talk Post)

vairetube says...

I'm 25. White male.

Born in Escondido, CA.

I live with my parents near Microsoft's headquarters in the house I grew up in.

I've played in two regionally successful "indie" bands as a drummer. John Vanderslice opened for my band in San Francisco the first tour we had... he and his band rocked the shit out of our set... we got some polite/drunken applause, then spent the night with a guy who had a nude David Hasselhoff picture in his trailer's bathroom. Life on the road, Kage.. life on the road...

I avoid people and the places where people are. When you live in the suburbs it's possible, if you only go out after 8pm and are back before 6am.

I would like to live on a farm (with high speed internet) and barring that, I hope to get my compTIA A+ certification before they update the test. Then I guess I'll do computer stuff since people are SO bad at it, I feel like a God telling them how many IRQ's USB can support and why they should buy more RAM.

Namasté.

Stripping Snow White- America's got talent

>> ^fojlz:
Eh, even if what she was doing can be called "art" in specific settings, it's still a cheap ploy in this context. She's using her feminine wiles as a replacement for originality and talent (and sadly, it worked in this video). I say talent because personally, I don't think the way she was doing it was particularly challenging or artistic. Maybe the dance would have gained more merit with me if she'd stripped in a way that was interesting to those who are not heterosexual males (or homosexual females). I wasn't particularly entertained or excited.

After giving this another viewing, I agree that this routine isn't particularly challenging or original. She does execute it exceptionally well, however -- All the movements are smooth as silk and timed well. Honestly, some people find it hard enough to operate clothing, even in the absence of a soundtrack. I think her second routine was both more original and a bit more difficult, though it's appeal is also questionable (unless you're David Hasselhoff).

Stripping Snow White- America's got talent

davidraine says...

If I could upvote the video and downvote the poster, I would. Similarly, if I had enough star power to strip the "Terrible" tag and add "Art", I would do that as well. This is not simply "stripping", it is burlesque -- Saying it objectifies women is short-sighted and saying it doesn't require any talent is flat out ignorant.

The major difference is that stripping is geared for sex and sex alone, while burlesque is designed to entertain and excite. Most acts stimulate the mind as well as the body via comedy or a touch of the bizarre, and the women involved in all of the acts I have seen are in complete control over the act and themselves. At no point is actual sex involved. Michelle L'Amour is an excellent burlesque dancer to boot; she is very experienced and teaches classes in the art.

I will give a bit of credit to the time and place argument. I'm not going to say this is harmful to children, as British television seems to have a more relaxed attitude towards sexuality and is better off for it in my opinion. However, I will admit that the argument could go either way. For the record, she survived this round (both men voted yes), but was kicked off in the second round because David Hasselhoff changed his vote to "no." His children were in the audience and he felt too guilty to vote her into the third round.

Star Trek/Monty Python Mashup "I'm Not Dead!!!"

BTW, swampgirl, it would seem that you have an unhealthy fascination with the Shatneriffic One. Lord knows that Shatner is a god amongst gods, but even I'm a wee bit dismayed. May I suggest counseling? Or booze? Or does that make it worse? This Kirk crush seems more than a little unhealthy, IMHO. It's somewhat "old school", if I may indulge in the parlance of modern youths. May I suggest David Hasselhoff as a more contemporaneous substitute?

Tag length will have a minimum, but your point about commas and quotes don't compute. YouTube also has a limit (130 chars) which includes any spaces and quotes; if we eliminate commas you still have to count the space between tags, except then you'd also have to count 2 more chars for quotes around multiply termed tags.

>> TAGS ARE USELESS even at 60chars.
Personally, I can't say I agree with you at all. Right now the limit is 40 chars and they appear to have had some usefulness for the last 1.3 years.

>> David Hasselhoff, knight rider, <=== that is HALF of my chars!!!
True, it's 30 chars, but with the method you've proposed, the equivalent entry would be "David Hasselhoff" "knight rider" which is 34 chars.

>> Is there going to be a better search engine?
Yep, there'll be an advanced search page that will hopefully include any type of search you may ever need to perform.

---------------

I could give a crap about the title length. It is mostly fine where it is, but TAGS ARE USELESS even at 60chars. GO over to YouTube or any site and check out the tags for most videos. 60 including spaces and commas.. brilliant! That will help serach and find stuff.

Turkish ninja kicking some ass

Sketch says...

My God, it's like if David Hasselhoff and Eric Estrada had a Turkish ninja clone made from their DNA and it had to fight a crappy Turkish Chuck Norris.

Exploding rocks, burning dummies and stolen soundtracks, OH MY!

Seriously, you people are getting ridiculous with the Long tag though.
