Man sets car on fire: playing with lighter at gas station

Auger8 says...

Your right fire makes people stupid and panic for no reason most of the time. Funny story I was working as a fry cook at a Buffalo Wild Wings in my home town in Texas when one night one of the guys pulled the fryer out to clean behind it well he yanked on it too hard and it ripped the gas hose off the connection to the wall. I swear to god 6 guys saw fire spurt out of the valve and immediate dropped everything and ran for the hills. I saw that the valve wasn't damaged in anyway so I calmly walked over and turned off the valve the fire went out and the disaster was averted. I couldn't believe how everyone else just panicked instead of taking the logical easiest path to put out the fire. I'm just glad no one pulled the Ansul fire foam system that would have cost the store 20k and we would have spent two days cleaning the inside of the kitchen out.

Fire extinguishers: Not just ornaments

It appeared that the guy near the end was using the contents of a gas can to extinguish the flames. A fail all around if that were true =oD

I'll assume this is sarcasm that didn't translate well across the Internet--it was water, the stuff you use to wash off your windows with--which is ALSO found RIGHT NEXT TO all the man-made flames and fuel for cars--BTW did you know fuel vapor is pretty nasty--I swear eia is just not enough sometimes.
Fires (and any other such similar event were an emergency is involved) while active creates apparently, an atmospheric anomaly that causes--from what I've noticed in these situations--a strange and sudden affliction that seems to afflict the human nervous system in roughly 95% of the population (some of you may think I'm being TOO generous) it has these noticeable effects: mass stupidity, mass standing comatose adult/children (like deer in headlights), GRABBING THEIR FUCKING cellphone to video it, calling anyone but 911, calling 911 when the situation could have been averted for atleast a minute (sometimes more, MUCH MORE--it can get ridiculous) by them doing a small innocuous measure--but the measure is: beneath them, might get them dirty, they may get close to "the action", they could injury themselves requiring a band-aid; and so, so, so, so, so, many other things that could be listed, but you really can just go to the Failblog and look around and find one thousand examples I don't have here. But this 95% always does the things I listed above and do similar ridiculous actions OTHER THAN stopping the problem! It really is quite amusing and it's also why we've got the term "hero". Hero really should read:
Hero: The person that finally decided to resolve a problem when everyone else decided it was better to journal about it. You get my drift... Yes, there is the "real" hero out there, but they typically have other things that show that they are, like undying loyalty from their followers or getting the Medal of Honor--that type of thing.
This window washing water can be found in large containers, like the one he was carrying to put the fire out, around EVERY single station (typically, sometimes there are even WATER HOSES in the middle). Atleast ONE person was paying attention and put the fire out on both the fuel hose and the gas tank (it looked like he got them out--with a little bucket of water...well used if I might say). He is a minor hero, but he's one of those people that solves an emergency put before a group of people, and decidedly did not take photos first.
Just felt like the man deserved some credit, so I decided to have someone say something good about him (me ); since it's mostly about the idiot eia douche who RAN to find help from the store manager, running RIGHT PAST the fire extinguisher--fucking poetic and on camera. That guy will NEVER live this down...
I'm ALSO assuming he did panic and run into the store to find the clerk, rather than just running away, BUT people HAVE done that... ((Benefit of doubt for this eia, I guess...)

George Zimmerman Reenacts Trayvon Martin Shooting for Police

Porksandwich says...

6:20-6:30 he says Trayvon circled his car. Sounds very intimidating if true, but he never made mention of it that I remember in the 911 call and I think it's something you would note that this guy is outside your car circling it and reaching into his waist band.

Immediately following that he sounds like he's spit balling to me. He couldn't remember which of the TWO streets he was on in his neighbor hood.....

And in the 911 call you can hear him say "he's running" and then exit the vehicle and what sounds like fast-walking/running for a bit due to the wind and his breathing. He makes no mention of getting out to get an address that I can recall in the 911 tape.

8:40 ish, his recounting is much much slower than the time it took place on the 911 call. And I don't recall them asking him if he still wants a police officer.

8:50ish he brings up the "Are you following him?" question from dispatch and then telling him they don't need him to do that.

From the 911 he says he doesn't know the address of where he is. Matches up with his not seeing a street address. But there's two streets in his neighborhood it looks like on google map...so ...seems hinky to me. It's not an overly complex place to just give them landmarks to get to him if he had to.

Then he gives them his address and asks for the officer to call him so he can tell him where he's at.

11 and on sounds made up to me. At 14, someone coming out and him having a coherent conversation goes against witness testimony talking about him being in a daze and seeming out of it when they were talking to him.

So yeah, I think he's mixing enough truth with lies to make it really hard for someone to say otherwise. The tone of this video makes him sound somewhat reasonable, but on the 911 call he was muttering stuff under his breath and talking about assholes getting away and never getting caught...and lots of things not coming up in the 911 call that are in this video...again paint him as the victim when I think anyone else in the situation would have stated they were being circled and driven further away or not exitted the vehicle.

And on top of him perjuring himself along with his wife about how much money he had being off by 150k+ intentionally.......and the website he setup himself with graffiti on OSU black student center....and then all of his myspace accounts that he couldn't delete the content of making him sound like a thug himself and beating charges......

Can't help but feel his true nature came out the night he shot Trayvon and the rest of this is just his act to remain free. Good guy, whose not at all on a power trip or at all over-reacting like his past shows he does when he was brought up on assault charges against a cop, who just wanted to the right thing and protect his neighborhood.

As for trayvon looking around......everything in that video looks the same. He was probably f-in lost if it was getting dark....all of the houses/apartments/condos are the same color and mostly the same shape for most of the video.

Man and Wife Overdose on Pot Brownies

It was 65 degrees that night. I've lived in florida, that is not "fucking cold" weather.

Edit: I looked at the other link, and this other expert claims Zimmerman says "fucking punks". So two enhanced sound tracks with two experts with two different conclusions. Doesn't sound like an exact science to me.>> ^chilaxe:

Zimmerman campaigned in the past on the side of African-Americans in his community against the local police department. For some reason that gets left out of these narratives.
Science is best left to data, which is always more interesting than evocative narratives that pick and choose.
But the point is that nobody can change that you can put any gang member or someone who thinks of themselves in that way in a gated community and you get the same results. And on the other hand, if you put Herman Cain's son (2nd from right) there, who probably doesn't have a gold grill and gang-like tattoos and doesn't like to fight, you get entirely different results.

No, you get the same result. It could be young Obama, and you get the same result. That's the thing about racism: it is based solely on appearance. Any interpretation of behavior is influenced by pre-conceived bias.

Also, stop blaming the victim! You can pull up facebook photos and youtube videos of young people of every race imitating rap stars. It doesn't make them gang affiliated.

In this case, I stand by "it has nothing to do with race". In the equivalent situation (Baltimore, black thugs/gang, drunk victim) put a black person in the victim's place and nothing changes. Actually, they may have killed/maimed the black victim. The white dude got off light, for Baltimore.

Anyway, they don't scream racial epithets. There is no evidence he was targeted due to being white.

_________________________________________________________________________

I say the Zimmerman case is about race because of Zimmerman's history of profiling black males as criminals. Even the black neighbor who praised Zimmerman said he was uncomfortable walking in his own neighborhood because of the profiling. That's pretty damning in itself.

I say it's about race because Zimmerman's only rationale for pursuing Martin with a loaded gun was his appearance.

I say it's about race, because Zimmerman on the 911 call called Martin a "coon".

I say it's about race due to the (in)actions of the police:
-A homicide goes down and the admitted killer is let go after a couple of hours due to his word in the absence of video or consistent eyewitness accounts? No thorough investigation while they held him? When have you ever heard of that happening? I have black friends who have been wrongly held for days on much less serious allegations.

-The victim, a young teenager, is not identified for days. On that night, the police didn't even canvas the community he was walking in to find out who he was. Can you imagine that happening to any of your teenage friends/relatives? I would think anyone would assume a normal teenager would have concerned parents worried about his absence. And at least look in the most likely place for the parents: the immediate neighborhood.

-They've corrupted the chain of evidence so much, the case had to be taken out of their hands

-This department has a history of mistreating blacks

Plenty of evidence and observations that can't reasonably be explained any other way.>> ^chilaxe:

>> ^longde:
Happens often enough; where are all those national stories?
And for you to level such a broad accusation, you have to show some proof/evidence/facts. Where are these videos you speak of where we without reason mislabel a hate crime?
>> ^chilaxe:
If the ethnicities were reversed, everybody above saying it's not a hate crime would be saying it's without a doubt a hate crime. It'd also be national news.

On the other video, you said: "This crime has nothing to do with race."
"Nothing to do with race" seems to be going a bit far, but the general argument could be reasonable.
If we believed in those standards, we'd apply them to the Trayvon Martin case.
We'd say the critical factors in Martin's case weren't about race, because Zimmerman's black neighbor said he'd have done the same thing, and any teenager who presents himself to the world as being part of gang culture would have a problem in a gated community that's having a problem with crime.

Police Video: No Blood, Bruises On George Zimmerman

Porksandwich says...

@VoodooV

Have to say I agree with the assessment of the trial. I just simply don't see evidence that Zimmerman acted in a reasonable manner. That's coming from me as a non-gun owning person. On the other hand, the people who own guns and have carry licenses are the one's predominately taking up the other side. Saying that he should be able to provoke the incident and then use his gun when he goes too far and puts someone in a position where they feel they have to fight him off.

I still wonder why the 911 overheard help calls stop when the gun goes off. Wouldn't you want to save a young guy's life and continue shouting help? Or if you had just had your head bashed against concrete, wouldn't you continue to yell for help because you are gravely injured? Why would the person who was yelling help and fired the gun, stop yelling for help? He was just brutally assaulted and needs help.

That plus Zimmerman's own commentary during his 911 call that we can clearly hear, ignoring the under the breath comment.......he expressed concern that the kid was not right and still felt empowered to chase him on foot even though he "has something in his hand". No reasonable person is going to chase after a drugged addled person with a potential weapon in their hand.............unless they felt their gun would protect them. Which is not what a carry permitted gun is for, it's not to put yourself in a dangerous situation of your own volition and then shoot your way out. It's to protect you when other choices are gone, like calling the police, leaving the area, or otherwise just acting like someone not looking to start shit.

Police Video: No Blood, Bruises On George Zimmerman

Porksandwich says...

@Ryjkyj

I have not see anything that suggests he was carrying the weapon openly. The last thing I've heard was that after he was hit by Martin, the gun became exposed once he was on his back and they both wrestled for the gun...or this happened at least at some point during Martin kicking his ass.

The reaching for his phone part, would make me think he was pulling a weapon, not a phone..after chasing me.

If you have some sort of link on the open carry part, I'd love to read it. I got some guys on another thread who have a sizeable number of gun nuts on there who have carry permits and all of them say nothing prior to Martin hitting Zimmerman matters. At that point Zimmerman could assume Martin was trying to kill him once he had him on the ground.

And the concealed gun was not reason to feel threatened, or the chase...or the reaching...or .......... you see where it's going.

I just point out that just because Zimmerman says something and the police say evidence agrees does not mean that is exactly what happened, but that what we know of his actions by his own account and the 911 call....he conducted himself in a manner that a non-adult would feel threatened by. Hell a college kid would have probably ran, even if they had a perfectly legitimate reason to be there. Because some guy was evil-eying them and then chasing.

New Black Panthers offer reward for capture of Zimmerman

Porksandwich says...

Zimmerman should hope they release a lot of information done by both white and black investigators from all over. If he doesn't get some very public information showing that they can't find evidence to arrest him or put him before a jury and convince them. The only thing that is going to allow him to live any sort of life after this is that kind of public release with many of the investigators involved saying the same exact thing....no discrepancies and no one better be left saying the police didn't interview them. No one should say the security cameras were not checked. No one should say phone records were not collected. The botched investigation has at much to do with the outrage as Zimmerman chasing down Trayvon and killing him. If the investigation were done properly there would not be all of this doubt and intrigue around the case, buy they know they screwed up, otherwise they would have come forward with the information instead of getting outside investigations into it. Or someone knows they screwed up, and ordered it that way to cover their ass.

The racism part of it will never be satisfied to any sort of middle ground for most people...just is not going to happen at this point.

If they fail to do all of this one more time, Zimmerman will be screwed. I don't even think witness protection would keep people from recognizing him for quite awhile after this, if he could get it.

And shang, I don't believe you. I've seen other people say a lot of these things and anything they point to gets debunked a day later.

If they had eye witness reports of Trayvon attacking Zimmerman, they would not have news reports saying there is about a minute of unknown sequence of events between the 911 call ending and a witness seeing Zimmerman on his back with Trayvon on top.

Trayvon has no arrest record that has ever come out. There ARE people making claims that he has a "criminal activity record", making it sounds like a police record. But when questioned the best they can come up with is that the school suspended him for....... and even a lot of that is made up and debunked after the news "breaks" it and they have to retract their claims. Zimmerman has 4 case records, 2 are related to him having an encounter with an officer where he got PTD. 2 are related to domestic violence case in civil court. So he has been arrested and taken what amounts to a "get your shit straight or be found guilty" program in lieu of trial for it being his first offense.

According to a witness, Zimmerman was not found on the ground when police arrived. He was standing over Trayvon just moments after he shot him. Police found him this way. Otherwise, Trayvon would have been laying on top of him if he was still found on the ground..since Trayvon was on top of him during the fight and supposedly when he shot and killed him.

SYG has stipulations for home defense in line with Castle Doctrine, but it does not apply here unless they have unreleased information saying that he was trying to defend his vehicle. I am of the opinion that Trayvon Martin should be covered under SYG, but I won't post all that here...it's in another sift on here regarding TYT covering the case.

Listen to the 911 call Zimmerman made.
http://videosift.com/video/Trayvons-Murderer-says-fucking-coon
s-2-21-in-911-call
He's on the phone staring down Trayvon as he walks up.
Zimmerman says "he's coming to check me out" as Trayvon gets closer.
"These asshole's, they always get away" "he's running" then under his breath "fuckin' coons" and you can hear Zimmerman chasing Trayvon.
Dispatcher: 'Are you following him?'
George: "Yeah."
Dispatcher: 'Okay, we don't need you to do that."
They then talk about where the police officers will meet George.
George ask if the police can call him.. as if he was going to follow and/or detain Trayvon until the officers arrived.
It's clear Zimmerman is a racist.
It's clear Trayvon was attempting avoid Zimmerman.
It's clear Zimmerman wasn't going to let Trayvon get away.
It's clear Zimmerman murdered an unarmed 17 year old boy.
What more do you need to know? George hunted and murdered a black kid for "looking suspicious."
Just admit Zimmerman is a murder.
Admit he should be held in prison until he's put on trial.
And admit you're wrong for trying to defend a child murdered.
