Because I’m pretty sure you didn’t look up Larry Householder and Matt Borges…

https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdoh/pr/jury-convicts-former-ohio-house-speaker-former-chair-ohio-republican-party

The government proved beyond a reasonable doubt at trial that Householder and his enterprise conspired to violate the racketeering statute through honest services wire fraud, receipt of millions of dollars in bribes and money laundering.
The conspiracy involved nearly $61 million in bribes paid to a 501(c) entity to pass and uphold a billion-dollar nuclear plant bailout.

More MAGA corruption from the base to the top, selling out the people for cash. It’s what your party is all about. More MAGA convictions than every other party combined in the countries history, serious thought and effort put into dissolving the United States, and an attempted coup…and MAGA is only 7 years old.

Bonus- Top MAGA Republican backer and Steve Bannon partner and friend “Guo Wengui” was just arrested and criminally charged for engaging in a $1 billion fraudulent investment scheme.
And sweet zombie Jeebus, seems CPAC was proudly sponsored by “the new federalist state of China”, the CCP. Weird that today’s Republican Party is chummy with and in awe of Putin and Xi and despise American government and democracies.

Jim Says Christian Leaders Will Be Murdered If Trump Loses

newtboy says...

What drivel.

Baker made his point, you just recognize the idiocy of it so claim he must mean something else, but he means to have you believe exactly what he said....and he means to be instructing people from the pulpet on how to vote, something that until recently was considered illegal, but today it's fine so long as he's saying "vote Trump".

Churches aren't non profits, they simply claim that status because they are protected from having that status removed because "religion". There is NO scrutiny, not higher scrutiny. Name one recognized religion that's lost it's non profit status.
Edit: BTW, From the IRS-Churches that meet the requirements of IRC Section 501(c)(3) are automatically considered tax exempt and are not required to apply for and obtain recognition of tax-exempt status from the IRS. (Hardly more scrutiny, since there is no scrutiny at all)

Non profits don't pay their leaders millions, buy them multiple jet planes, build hundred million dollar buildings, or keep billions in assets while claiming to not be able to fulfill their mission statement for lack of funding. Preachers beg directly from the pulpit for money for their 5th jet plane God said they need... they don't get the money from side hustles, although they get money that way too, but that's their personal income (although it's often laundered through the church to avoid taxes).

Religions are non prophets....meaning they have, and follow no prophets as practiced.

Bakker is a loon but the video cuts off before he makes his point. I can only assume RWW shortened it to meet some agenda point.

However, don't let this get in the way of some good'ol'fashioned Christian bashing.

BTW, Churches are tax-exempt because they are nonprofits. However, they receive higher scrutiny from the IRS than other nonprofits and must provide more detail than other nonprofits to keep the status. Most rich preachers leverage their nonprofit fame to generate income in for-profit taxed ventures (books, videos, etc.). It's deplorable and immoral (IMHO) but not illegal.

God Sent Two Scientists To Cure Cancer But They Were Aborted

newtboy says...

These morons just admitted violating 501c(3) law forbidding churches or religious organizations from endorsing a candidate or party.
Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.

Upvote not to signify I agree with them, but to promote exposing the nonsense these people wrap themselves in.

I can't find where eating shellfish is punishable by death. I know Leviticus 11 forbids it.

Don't get me wrong. I think most self-labeled 'Christians' are so hypocritical that I don't even use the term anymore to describe myself. Most of the 'churches' are really just 501(c)(3) religious services organizations who's members are more interested in building their business than actually doing what is good and right according to the Bible they obstensibly believe. So I understand where alot of this anger and confusion comes from.

But if there is something that doesn't make sense then search it out with honesty and humility, not anger and spite towards someone who's wronged you who held the moniker 'Christian'. Just be consistent, be humble, and seek the God who is Good (as opposed to the modern American Christian God who glorys in wickedness). If something about that God seems bad, then reconsider! No one has a monopoly on your mind and your concept of God. Think on His character and His motives - not for a moment but for years.

The Bible does present a consistent history of God and His dealings with man if you just ignore what everyone else says about the book and read it yourself with humility and honesty.

Obamacre Navigators Exposed Coaching Applicants to Lie

aaronfr says...

So, someone went into an 'navigators' office looking for help getting health insurance. Then he confessed that he had been cheating on his taxes. The navigator advised him that the forms he was filling out would be sent to the IRS. They also advised him that unless he was ready to deal with consequences of his initial lie, he should maintain it.

Also, there is a controversy because some old lady thinks a group is part of the DNC. Oh, and a 501(c)3 is working with a PAC. Which is only allowable under certain conditions. Which O'Keefe fails to tell us and fails to show how those rules are being broken here. Instead he chooses to insinuate that a PAC which has a political strategy is somehow nefarious because they are implementing that strategy.

Yes, individuals within such a group pay taxes through income, land, sales and payroll; these people form the membership of an association. Any association that is engaging in lobbying activities will pay a 35% tax on those activities and a percentage of the members dues (donations) will be declared non-deductible. If you think lobbyists shouldn't pay taxes on what they do, then you clearly do not understand the economic benefit that they reap from such activities. However, the individuals are not asked to pay more taxes, they are simply not allowed to deduct as much from their income taxes. Boo-freaking-hoo!

http://www.asaecenter.org/Resources/whitepaperdetail.cfm?ItemNumber=12223

Groups applying for 501(c)(4) status are essentially requesting that donations to their group be anonymous. However, if a group is actively intervening in a political campaign, their members (donors) do not qualify for this privilege; they would be considered a 527. The IRS was scrutinizing groups asking for 501(c)(4) status because, well, that's their job. If a group applying for such status was actually a front for a political campaign or primarily engaged in media buys for election influencing (for example), then they don't qualify. Doesn't matter if you like who they are backing or not, dems da rules.

Thanks. Doesn't have to pay taxes AND has the ability to lobby?, 501(c)(4) seems like it should be gotten rid of. I don't care if it's tea party or anything else (although ironic because the tea party is supposed to be about fiscal responsibility, yet here's yet another situation where a group that will do anything to avoid paying their share).

No taxation? Then fuck you, no representation then.

501(c)(4) is a status that non-profit social welfare organizations can apply for that exempts them from paying taxes, allows them to lobby without restriction, and allows them to take anonymous contributions. Raising money for political campaigns is not allowed for non-profits that work as 501(c)(4)s .

There was concern that some of these groups with blatantly political names were funneling illegal corporate cash to politicians, hence the IRS investigations out of Cincinnati. The GOP claimed that only conservative groups were targeted, which ended up being false. Liberal groups were targeted as well.

This story is a strategically smart move for the right wing media to play, because they can simultaneously smear the Obama campaign (which had absolutely nothing to do with this), intimidate the IRS from investigating illegal corporate campaign contributions in future elections, keep their base in a state of irrational fear and distract the public from the House quietly voting to take away overtime pay today. They even managed to get Jon Stewart to unwittingly help them out as a bonus.

I love Jon Stewart, but he got played here.

TL:DR: This story is manufactured bullshit, just like Benghazi and the AP email story.
