This was painful to watch, wasn't even funny for old time's sake. The timing was bad and the catchphrases from 1991-92 just sound lame. The few clips I have seen from the 40th SNL show so far have been pretty bad, looks like I didn't miss much.

It's seems weird this is a BBC documentary yet you're as likely to hear of Iron Maiden's achievement's as you to hear of The Prodigy.

Yes "walk this way" was a rap/rock crossover - but this is afaik the first proper metal/underground dance mashup. I honestly hate the fact The Prodigy never get the credit they deserve for bringing so much.

I agree that humans are influencing climate change, but this comment completely misstates the result of the Cook report.

Quoted from the abstract:

" examining 11 944 climate abstracts from 1991–2011 matching the topics 'global climate change' or 'global warming'. We find that 66.4% of abstracts expressed no position on AGW, 32.6% endorsed AGW, 0.7% rejected AGW and 0.3% were uncertain about the cause of global warming"

32.6% of the 11,944 - that's where they indicated that 97% of the papers said that humans were either 1) responsible for 50+ % of the observed warming (a small %) or 2) influencing the climate (most of the papers). Yes, humans are influencing the climate. Are they the primary driver? Maybe, but maybe not. More work is needed.

It was a beautiful thing. Got to ride in a 1991 E31 BMW 850 limiter removed on the Autobahn back in 95. The guy driving looks at the rearview mirror says something to the effect of "Thats Interesting" and moves right just as a Volvo station wagon blows by at well above 320 kph. Drive just grins and says "Not Stock" and keeps going. Had a lot of fun there.

Looks like this iteration of the series will require an upgrade of my hardware, so I suppose Rebirth is quite a good fit as a name.

That'll be the end of the longest stretch without an upgrade since 1991. The current setup did its job since shortly after the release of Age of Conan in May of 2008. That's 64 months at 10+ hours a day, slaving away as a gaming rig and HTPC. It was the 8th CPU since '91, the 12th video card -- and they're still running just as smooth as ever.

Maybe I'll get some more Cat 5 and use this box as a dedicated HTPC...
