As I said, we have tons of measures in place, not just checks for links. (It's ridiculous how much spam is attempted here all day, every day.)

For example, because your comment was regarding money, what may have applied are some key terms matching a spammer who comments topics like "make money at home" or "save money with us" or something along those lines.

I had the exact same thought. I decided to stay out of it though. (I would have said something had we been in the same room, but on comment streams, it is wasted effort, I've found.)
