No it is not, the surround or spider would succumb to tension before the cone does when the force is applied equally like the cat is positioned in. the difference in weight would be hard on the voice coil and suspension of the sub woofer, not the cone itself.

there's something weird on with bass on this track. my sub-woofer was going insane. i had to turn it down a lot otherwise it was shaking the whole wall and my desk.

almost fried my woofer on this one

I thought it was going to be a giant sub woofer that could blow out a candle at 180'. Boy am I disappointed.

My sub woofer is so big it shattered windows for 1000 miles around!

The hum runs through the entire vid. Like I said, it's at 60Hz., which is a ground-loop in the source. If you don't have a sub-woofer or good speakers, you probably wouldn't hear it.

When I saw Simon play live, he started with this track. I had just travelled 1200km, the place was absolutely packed. Hungry, tired, displaced, lightheaded from low oxygen, and here is my HERO. The GOD of psychedelic trance music is right in front of me. He's THERE. Just there. I'm standing in a drained pool (!), the bass bins are quad-18 woofers, two per channel, inset in the side of the pool- right next to me. This sounds SO AWESOME.

When simon smiled and mashed play, the deep, deep deep string sounds came from around, and everybody who was there stood in silence. I was not the only person who felt this, I am sure. When he played DMT, I BURST into tears. It was the most emotionally charged musical experience I have ever had.

It felt like... I can't even explain. It was catharsis.

I hope this makes it out of the queue.

Yikes, 11 minutes of eardrum-splitting 30" woofers blasting out that bass.... ouch! I went through a few years of a drum-n-bass phase, but got such massive headaches I had to stop.

If you like Trance that's a bit more relaxing than this, I highly recommend Paul Oakenfold's GU007 album. I make sure to listen to the first disc at least once a month!
