This is in my opinion the biggest victory of those who ruin the country. This opinion is pretty standard, I've heard it all my life on college campuses and even believed it at one point.

I wonder, if you posed the question to Martin Luther King Jr. what his opinion of that would be. I think he'd say that the only reason he could do his job, that he could speak and go to towns and rally people for his cause was because there were hundreds of thousands of people working to make it happen behind the scenes. The tribute we pay is not to those people though, it's to Martin Luther King Jr.

The reason is because they want to make sure and convince you that you cannot do this on your own. That you need a "Special Person" to come forth and fight your battles for you, and lead you to promised land. This is the idea that Obama satisfied with his "Army" of people that weren't to do anything but work to get Obama elected and listen to him, and then that's it. Their job was done, when in a real democracy they'd be working still, putting pressure on Obama to do what he promised and what they put him in for.

This is a great propaganda tool to control people, it works. Until it doesn't, and you have occupy protests everywhere.

in some ways this seems like you could store allot of data in a physically smaller space , it seems analogousness to fractal math with the arms acting as an execution / multiplier on the initial maths of the disks , though it gets to a point of repetition reasonably fast so maybe its just a magnification. because its a totally waist of time and effort sending humans to planets that are shit for human existence.
Robots are the only thing that should be sent to mars and the moon , it would be far more efficient and cost affective to do that than to send people.
It would make more sense for people to try and colonise the earth sea floor as this is likely going to be far more sustainable and practical if there was a cataclysmic event and the development of that over 60-200 years would develop the technology to allow future space travel.
Until we have some sort of technology to move through space faster than the speed of light which obviously is unlikely then I don't see any point in colonising other planets with anything other than a robotic presence.

It could be that the purpose was just a cathartic release; people do this a lot, acting to satisfy emotional requirements without really having a long-term objective. It's very common, and human. The difference is that people forget, and the internet doesn't.

Its weird how French have this reputation I think it comes from the pre–Revolutionary French upper class but can not really be applied to the French as a whole.

Although its fun discrimination and the most successful discriminatory terms seem to take one element of truth and then apply it to a whole nationality/race of people.
I know the surrender aspect of WW2 comes into it but I don't think France had much choice and it would have cost them more life to not surrender , Its also well documented how well the French held back the Germans with resistance groups which is a far harder and riskier form of fighting than standard troop combat / full front engagements ( from the perspective of an individual solder anyway).

There's no getting around the fact that, in a situation where it comes down to standing up for what you believe in to the death or giving up, giving up is always going to be seen as the "coward's way out", and that's why it's stuck to them.
