Rocky and Bullwinkle - Kerwood Derby
From Wikipedia; "The series began with the pilot Rocky the Flying Squirrel. Production began in February 1958 with the hiring of voice actors June Foray, Paul Frees, Bill Scott, and William Conrad. Eight months later, General Mills signed a deal to sponsor the cartoon, under the condition that the show be run in a late-afternoon time slot, where it could be targeted towards children. Subsequently, Ward hired most of the rest of the production staff, including writers and designers. However, no animators were hired, since Ward was able to convince friends of his at Dancer, Fitzgerald, & Sample — an advertising firm that had General Mills as a client — to buy an animation studio in Mexico called Gamma Productions S.A. de C.V. (formerly known as Val-Mar Animation.) This outsourcing of the animation for the series was considered financially attractive by General Mills, but caused numerous problems. Bill Scott, when interviewed by animation historian Jim Korkis in 1982, described some of the problems that arose in the production of the series:
We found out very quickly that we could not depend on the Mexico studio to produce anything of quality. They were turning out the work very quickly and there were all kinds of mistakes and flaws and boo-boos. They would never check. Mustaches popped on and off Boris, Bullwinkle's antlers would change, colors would change, costumes would disappear. By the time we finally saw it, it was on the air."[citation needed]

Interesting 3D Virtual Drawing--
They had something like this in Red Planet, that film with Val Kilmer, Carrie Anne Moss, Tom Sizemore, etc. It was a transluscent monitor screen used as a map overlay (and pliable enough to be rolled up!), so I *know* there's an application for this kind of technology. Very cool!

I've given one another shot, so maybe the increased exposure of the sifted vid will help it. Diversity is certainly a great side to the sift. Exposure to all kinds of things I'd otherwise not seen or known about.

It's too bad that we can't see more videos like these on the sift for the sake of diversity. Thanks for the heads up.

Seeing as liked this I'm just letting you know there are a few others by this group in case you missed them. I've made a Mediæval Bæbes playlist, as I expect the other 3 will end up in the discard pile (one already has).
In reply to this comment by kronosposeidon:
I think I like this version better than the original, and I really like the original a lot. The imagery and the music worked perfectly together. Hauntingly beautiful. Big upvote.

TBH, i mostly agree with you. However, when I ran across it, saw that whoever had stitched it together had decided/accepted it was a piranha (which it clearly is not) and that the fish was weired, ugly, and scary, I was curious to know what it actually was. The sift, being what it is, namely a fair bit more informed than the avg YouTube/Metacafe poster and it looks like with "sometimes" link, Ive not been disappointed. Also, I personally find it interesting whenever viewing unusual fish photos (especially the extreamly deep sea, and never seen before by man types, living fossils and such like).
Also, i'm still learning the ways of the sift (its tastes) and had partly expected this to fail. Democracy in action, as it were. Let the sift voice itself by not voting if it wishes. (this is a great example of something im happy DID get discarded. it didn't deserve to be here. it had been rated elsewhere, and i was curious. Would it do well here? it did not. good.)
I haven't got the sifts tastes down pat yet (and im unlikely to exclusively feed it what it likes even when i do)
Ive mostly sifted according to a mood; notably had a prodigy one inspired by watching a vid on here. 2 made it, 1 didnt. went for the old ones people dont hear anymore and that i still like and find interesting. another was my medieval folk mood. I like Blackmore's Night and Mediæval Bæbes vids that i posted just reacently. Possibly too obscure though, as, -while i find them enchanting, very well done and generally beautifull- the Blackmore's Night got almost no views (but a good vote ratio from the views it did have). Cant say the same for the Mediæval Bæbes vids though, they've had their views and still not been liked. Cant please everyone, especially with music.
Anyway, back on topic. Knowing that this fish IS known makes it utterly and irredeemably redundant.
I appreciate the votes from everyone who did, however I can get to 10 with something better than this.

you're probably talking about El Chombo's song "Macarron Chacarron (feat. Andy's Val Gourmet. The video for it is on here: http://www.videosift.com/video/CHACARRON-Best-Music-Video-EVER-hahaha
but it is also the soundtrack for one of my favourite vids:

I would say that it is mostly so well known because of its prevalence on YTMND, as explained here:

Heat Shoot-Out
A little bit of trivia that I always bring up with this scene (from answers.com):
Val Kilmer states on the special edition DVD (in the making of featurette) that soldiers in the military are shown the bank robbery scene, with emphasis placed upon the scene where Kilmer's character fires on the police, performs a swift and smooth reload, and resumes firing. Supposedly they say something along the lines of, "If you can't change magazines as fast as this actor, get out of my army!"
Rare Eye Bookstore
Hah! Back when parody movies were funny, not like all the Scary Movie and their ilk. First hint for me was Val tossing the books. I didn't notice it before that.
Stoner Brad's Directions-Alternate Take
It's True Romance. Released in Fall of 1993. At one time it was my favourite film. It's written by Quentin Tarantino, directed by Tony Scott, and has, among others Dennis Hopper, Gary Oldman, Christopher Walken, Christian Slater, Bronson Pinchot, Brad Pitt, Tom Sizemore, Chris Penn, Val Kilmer, James Gandolfini, Patricia Arquette... needless to say, just about the greatest cast ever in a crime movie.
I sort of killed it for myself by watching it about thirty times. It's a good date movie if your chick can tolerate some highly graphic gunplay. It seems to get chicks hot more than any other movie in my experience. I suppose that's because, despite all the profanity and viscera, at the core it really is a "True Romance."
