Woman kicked off flight for not wearing a mask

cloudballoon says...

That's arguably an overreaction and the airline might kick both out.

Last year I went on a vacation, caught some nasty bug on the plane on both flights. An hour into the flight my nose starts running badly and eyes tearing up. Back to normal after a night's sleep.

Airplane interior are nasty anyway at the best of times. Germs & virus on the surface and recycled air environment. Mask should just be mandated.

Dumb-asses that believe in hoaxes & fake news that "masks cause brain damage" should be banded from clinics & hospitals. By their logic, since all nurses & doctors wear mask everyday at work, thus they're all brain-damaged zombies. And who would want to be treated by zombies huh?

IMO Karen's neighbors should knock her teeth out the first time she sprays droplets of potentially deadly spittle at them. It's an assault with a deadly weapon, you can absolutely defend yourself.

Protester gets maced and shot in the face by gas projectile

newtboy says...

Sounds like what we expect in our worst estimations....murder, torture, racism, extortion, facilitating rape, public exposure by publicly accusing and doxxing, planting evidence, brutality, false testimony, all on camera = paid vacation time while it blows over.

Any inkling of support for peaceful anti brutality protests, fired in days.

It's not a question of if criminals wear badges, it's become a question of do ONLY criminals wear badges/ are all badge wearers criminals? I've yet to see a scintilla of evidence indicating they aren't, and mountains of video proof indicating they are.

Hey, did you hear a Detective from Springfield Mass got fired within days of posting an offensive Black Lives Matter post?

That's right, it was a photo of her nice at a BLM protest holding a sign saying, “Who do we call when the murderer wear the badge.” and some of her colleagues found that offensive enough they had to fire her.

So apparently they can act when their snowflakes are in danger of melting, just not, you know when they murder innocent people, frame innocent people, steal from innocent people and criminals, lie about incidents, doxx those who disagree with them then shrug it off when the doxxed person's neighbor is brutally raped apparently as a direct result of the doxxing (idiot got the wrong apartment number, police later said it was no big deal because the woman only suffered minor injuries (she was bruised head to toe, and raped, but no broken bones, so it's all good, right?) and the city counselor the cop doxxed could have been found through other means).

It's not a question of what to do "if" the criminal wears a badge. The criminals wear badges. The question is what can be done to stop them.

"can't take back no hurt"

newtboy says...

Bobby, Bobby, Bobby.
You know your black on black crime rates are nothing but made up propaganda, it's no where near 99%. That's white power propaganda you accepted without question...that's a form of racism itself....it's often referred to as "soft" racism of lowered expectations.

This fake news projection again, eh? You watch Fox and OAN, both entertainment/opinion posing as news...the definition of fake news...but want to call the daily videos of racist dicks being racist dicks on tape "fake". Do you believe CNN has a studio out back where they stage these events?
" There is no belief, however foolish, that will not gather its faithful adherents who will defend it to the death." -Asimov

Let's compare relevant and real numbers, police kill 25-26 black men for every cop killed. Let's not pretend you can do statistics even with honest data....but there's no question you can't using the data you repeat, because it's not data, it's racist propaganda that's thoroughly debunked but you just keep repeating.
You know you said there are 5000 racist murders for every black on black murder, right?

How many per day, Bob? How many racist murders per day do you need?
How many unprovoked violent racist attacks by blacks against whites per day would you need to see before you can admit there's a problem, because I'm sure if races were reversed that number would be 1/365....one video per year, that's what I think it would take for you to label a black run system racist against white people. Without racial norms being reversed, two a day isn't enough.

The big issue today is cops, the government, killing unarmed black people....If cops and their superiors were mostly minorities who killed >90% whites and arrested whites for non-infractions, putting only those publicly proven racists on vacation duty and protecting any accused without video proof, you would be frothing with rage at the out of control racist cops.

Edit:so answer the question...how many per day before you see racism is still problematic? A number
How many instances per day of government sanctioned racism before you see it's systemic. A number
Note, the word systemic does not mean that every interaction must be a racist violation. I know your paper tiger/straw man methods.

I'll grant you that there are racist dicks out there but not as many as fake news pushes day in day out.

How many racist murders are there per year compared to # of murders of black on black? 5000:1 maybe

I would gather a less than a 1% ratio.
Stop wasting time address the small issue and fix the big issue.

Police fire (paintball?) at residents on their front porch

Drachen_Jager says...

Not a paintball.

Whatever it was, it used explosive propulsion, not gas, you can clearly see the flash just after 21 seconds. Paintball guns give a little puff of gas sometimes, but it wouldn't light up like that. Paintball guns also don't sound like that.

I hope it was some form of "non lethal" ammunition, but remember a reporter lost an eye just the other day to something similar.

The #1 job of the police is, and always has been, to enforce the divide between rich and poor. Most pretend or believe they are there to "protect" law-abiding citizens, but times like these their true colors shine through. If there weren't such a stark divide between rich and poor, 90% of the work police do would vanish. Maybe if they actually enforced the law when it came to rich people, laws on tax evasion and wage theft, I might believe otherwise.

Of all financially-motivated crimes in the US (theft, robbery, fraud, all that rolled together) the biggest sector, outweighing ALL OTHERS COMBINED by a 2:1 factor, is wage theft. Employers not giving vacation days, or breaks they're obliged to, forcing employees to work extra hours without pay, docking pay for illegal reasons, or simply not paying what they owe. This is a criminal enterprise that steals 15 BILLION dollars a year from working-class Americans for the benefit of people who already have more money than they can use.

If you steal money from the rich and get caught, you go to jail Period.

The penalty for wage theft, literally stealing from those who cannot afford to lose more? First offense, if you're convicted (which is rare) a $10,000 fine.

I wonder what the heck it was? Paintball? More like...chalkball?
Their idea of a non-lethal (less lethal?) round?

I sort of doubt they have any authorization for that...

Supply still isn't, it's accessibility. Much of the black market dissolved, leaving dispensaries as many people's only source. It's sounding like they'll stay open....for now. Business is booming with everyone home on forced vacation...liquor sales too.

Trump Declares Himself Above the Constitution: A Closer Look

newtboy says...

Agreed.
Our government is designed to preclude monarchies.
If a president can't be indicted no matter what, they are a defacto monarch, and there's absolutely nothing to stop them from declaring themselves president for life and simply refusing to vacate the office, or from ignoring all law with immunity.
How a memo, not a law, describing one person's misinterpretation of the law has been used to grant Trump blanket immunity, contrary to the actual law and the basis of our government, is beyond me. It should be removed and never brought up again, except as a cautionary example of democracy threatening activities to avoid. Any official using it to shield anyone from prosecution should themselves be prosecuted.

Mystic95Z said:

That OLC "memo" that says a sitting President cannot be indicted needs to be made illegal too, no one is above the law, I dont care if its a Democrat or Republican in the WH.... Stick to the law and dont do dumb shit and everything is fine...

Violent brawl at Disneyland

eric3579 says...

Sounds like they are gonna make an example of this guy/situation. I guarantee you they are being charged because of the horrible PR for Disneyland and tourism vacationing/visiting Los Angeles. If that shit happened on some residential street in LA no one would bat an eye. Of course that's just my opinion.

Clerk fired for telling customer to go back to their country

newtboy says...

Typical ignorance.
If you are Hispanic, you're suspect.
If you're not a citizen, or like here even if you are, you're a criminal who needs to be sent back (to a country you aren't from).
I wish Mexico was in a position to return the favor to harass any gringo they see, demanding they produce their papers a dozen times daily.

According to reports, the girl first accused is a full citizen, and her cousins were visiting on vacation, not immigrating.

Cops Pull Guns On Black Man Picking Up Trash On Own Property

newtboy says...

Only the initial armed thug in blue was even given paid vacation pending INTERNAL investigation, the rest of the gang don't even get it put on their service record.
They all need jail time, they didn't try to stop the armed nutjob for harassing citizens in their own yards, they stood with him so they're all complicit.

We need an independent armed force to police the police, with their own separate prosecutors. Internal investigation is a bad joke, not a serious check on abuse.

This is why cops don't deserve respect....they're disrespectful.

10 year plan. Twice as effective as the USSR's 5 year plans

...Fully rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, restoring our natural ecosystems (needed), dramatically expanding renewable power generation (needed, but it also doesn't mean we should be throwing money away on stupid shit like solar roadways), overhauling our entire transportation system (regional flights, which sort of make up around 70% of total flights, would be targeted for elimination and massively expensive (slower) electrical trains would be put in their place), upgrading all our buildings (most businesses are already moving to green solutions) , jumpstarting US clean manufacturing (see highly expensive and non-competitive with cheaper overseas mfg), transforming US agriculture (forcing a move from cows/pigs/chickens to plant based proteins)...

While we are at it, might as well do the following:

A job with family-sustaining wages, family and medical leave, vacations, and retirement security (Nice, but you can't just make these jobs available. They are supply and demand.)

High-quality education, including higher education and trade schools (Needed)

High-quality health care (Needed)

Clean air and water (Needed)

Healthy food (Subjective, is meat considered healthy?)

Safe, affordable, adequate housing (because this works, ie Projects...)

An economic environment free of monopolies (Technically this exists already, except in countries outside of the USA and EU)

Economic security to all who are unable or unwilling to work (SWEET! SIGN ME UP FOR THAT CHECK!!!)

I get that his spiel is comedy based, but the GND is about half reality and half looney tunes.
