Girl Owns Border Patrol

ChaosEngine says...

What does it matter if she's cute or not? It's hardly relevant to the video.
She's not using her "cuteness" to make a point, her argument stands even if she was hideous.

Funny how there are no "handsome man at traffic stop" videos.

Side note: what is the actual law there? If it's an "immigration checkpoint", can they ask to see proof of citizenship? If not, what's the point of it? Are they allowed to check if you're not white? Or have a foreign accent? Seems like it either has to be mandatory to produce documentation, or it's a waste of time.

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I am not advocating that they should be able to request this kind of documentation, instead that they should just drop the pointless checkpoint if it's not mandatory.

This war on Cops is not going to end well. If people continue to harass cops someone is going to get shot. You take a person in a high stress job where every traffic stop has the potential to end your life (especially in cities like Detroit) and then you get assholes who want to follow you around waiting for you to have to arrest someone so that they declare you being excessive. The kid got exactly what he wanted, he made a cop angry so that he could film some police "aggression", all while staying just enough on the right side of the law that the cop was helpless to do anything.

8 Months pregnant woman tasered by police

lantern53 says...

How do you know she was being arrested over an auto accident? She might have been wanted on another crime. Lots of people get arrested at traffic stops or auto accidents because they are wanted. You wouldn't believe how many wanted people populate cities. In the average small city there are about 100,000 wanted people at any random time.

If as a cop you can't cope with a mouthy, pregnant woman without electrocuting her over a minor vehicle incident then you should not be a cop.
These guys clearly don't have the common sense, empathy or physical capabilities for the job.

You can easily provoke people without breaking the law. Happens all the time. It's not illegal to insult someone's mother but that doesn't make it any less stupid. Similarly, it's unwise to be confrontational to someone holding a gun (like a cop). That's common sense. Cops are not robots or omniscient deities. They are humans and have the same failings as everyone else. It's nice to hold them to a higher standard but you can't ignore the reality of what they actually are. Their job is dangerous and most people are inherently antagonistic towards them, due to the fact that they don't like being punished for doing what they want. Even a routine traffic stop can turn deadly. There are plenty of videos online where cops were either injured or killed with little to no warning from the perpetrators. As such, it's unsurprising that they might be overly cautious or mistrustful of abrasive strangers.

Valiantly fighting for your rights is all well and good but is it really worth it if compromise leads to better results? If the guys had shown their IDs, the cops would have likely just gone on their merry way. No arguments, no physical contact, no searches, nothing. A significant amount of time and effort would have been saved by both parties. If the cops had demanded a strip search, that would have been one thing. But they just asked to see some ID, an act which takes less than 10 seconds to perform at no risk to the person doing it. Life is about choice and consequence. You should make choices that have the most ideal consequences. Arguing with cops (or anyone with a gun) will never end well so why bother if it can easily be avoided?

I thought you didn't give pretty girls tickets?

mindbrain says...

This is completely fake. Both the lady's setup AND the cop's zinger (starting with "Pardon me") is someone else's voice poorly dubbed in. You can hear it plain as day in the vid nomino posted above. It's easier to be fooled by this video here since you don't get as much of the context to familiarize yourself with the cop's actual voice. What you all are upvoting is a simple traffic stop with two bad dubbing jobs. Listen for yourselves and don't be fooled!

How to Help a Drunk Person Open Their Car

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if campers that are not unpacked or sitting on a lot/owners driveway are bound by open container laws and such. Since you don't really have any legal course to camp in most parking lots and public roads, the camper remains a van until such time. This is speculation on my part since I actually haven't run across a case like this.

#1 This is also the way it is in the US. If you are caught sleeping off a drink in a car you can be charged with DUI.
#2 I think sitting in the passanger seat as the lone person in the car would be treated in the same way as a traffic stop where the driver hops into the passenger seat when the cop isn't looking. They can pretty much assume you are the driver, and again the dui law doesn't require the driver to actually be driving or in the driver seat, just in the car.

So you're not allowed to sleep in a camper van then?

Some useful info for you to know. In Canada, don't do this, it's the same as getting behind the wheel intoxicated. Even if you have no intention of driving. Intent is 9/10ths of the law on this.

Then I will defeat your ridiculous law by sleeping in the passenger seat!
