Ayn Rand Took Government Assistance. (Philosophy Talk Post)
So blankie, a hypothetical.
In an alternate volunteerist universe, you own a farm in Nebraska. Because of some nearby drilling for natural gas, your well water becomes completely contaminated and unusable. You raise your concerns with the owner of the drilling company, P. Toone Bickins, but he tells you 'tough, I'm drilling on my own land and minding my own business'.
Upon going to town you discover that P. Toone Bickins has also bought up the water supply for a 200 mile radius and all of the land surrounding the town, including all of the roads. The voluntary fee for water is $4.39 a gallon. The voluntary toll for the roads is $40 for residents, $300 for non-residents. All competing water suppliers stop servicing the town because the tolls are too expensive. P. Toone tells you that if you are unhappy, that he will generously buy your property from you at half the price you paid for it.
Some of your neighbors have sold their farms to Bickins. Some are staying put and talking about armed rebellion, but there are concerns about Bickins' large, highly trained, highly armed security squad. You contact your local minarchist magistrate, Pon Raul, to see if any legal action can be taken, but he lectures you for an hour about the evils of regulation, and how wrong it would be to coerce P. Toone Bickins into doing something he against his will.
You need water for your family, crops and farm animals, but with these new expenses, you are not sure you will have enough income to pay the bills.
What do you do?
Groovies: Betty Boop & Soul Coughing
I think that judging Cartoon Network on its Adult Swim block isn't really fair. I believe that the most creative work airs then, even if I dislike much of it.
The tendency to simply show cartoons all day and hope that it's good enough is what I find disappointing. Groovies were aired during the normal day when I first saw them, and they really broke up the regularly scheduled toons. I saw Rolling because I was channel surfing and heard a song that I really liked. For the next few months I'd stop at Cartoon Network for a few minutes, hoping I'd see more like it. It was a fresh way to show cartoons, and I wish they would do more of that instead of showing Dragonball and Star Wars cartoons back to back.

Coyote Falls [2010] A Looney Tunes 3D Short
The appeal of the Wiley Coyote shorts is the desire to actually see him NAIL that smarmy little blue git. If he actually ever accomplished this objective, the appeal would rapidly dissappate. So the whole Wiley/Roadrunner dynamic is one gigantic $%&@tease, essentially. We watch hoping he will succeed, yet knowing that he never will.
This was a short short, but one of the few worthy Loony Toon entries in the last 20+ years. "Space Jam" sucked so hard that it created a singularity. "Back in Action" was only slightly less sucky. It's long overdue for the Toons to get back to their roots, and this nails it.
Note to the WB. Stop trying to make feature-length & 30 minute shows out of characters & concepts that are built for 4-10 minute comedy blitzes. It doesn't work. It never will.

Of course, that was the wrong attitude. Too bad you didn't realize that being in a girl-heavy profession has certain advantages in your later years. Alas, piano is actually pretty guy-heavy, and two pianists shouldn't date anyways lest their egos collide... it's true.
Well, at least you have come to grips with your feminine side. Female avatars are always better to look at than guy ones, and if you have to always look at yours then... you know... Myself, sometimes I pick female avatars in RPGs because the toon is better to look at and in MMOs you can get all those nerds to help you do quests by giggling.
Also, apparently one beer makes me talk about random stuff...
Say, you were in a coma..... (Books Talk Post)
i'd go for toon tellegen, dutch author with stories about a squirrel and an ant. lovely, i hope it gets translated into english some time, it's worth it.

Cool Toons.
Mel Gibson Audio Tape Released!
The Passion of Fuckwit
This guy has been looney toons for years.
Breaking The Addiction
Sometimes you need that extra push to walk away. Faced it only once (SWG) which required me to delete a toon to sever the connection once and for all, and since then I've been able to walk away from a MMO when the fun ends.
Helps to have a wife who kicks your ass for playing too much though... ; )

South Park - Cripple Camp - Tribute to Mimsy and Nathan
That was such a great episode. It tickled all my right Loonie Toons areas =)
Also fyi. Fresh water shark rape, is always funny!
Hilarious Super Mario Bros cartoon featuring Milli Vanilli
Hilariously enough, there is a really neat coincidence here. The music played during the concert is actually lifted from Captain N at one point(as were many sounds in that era of game-related toons), so it's almost a sign of things to come as it were. Before they were busted in real life, they were already doing similar antics in the Mario cartoon.
spy and pyro!
I agree - get rid of the gay tag.
Also, fantastic toon. Starts off very loony tunes and gets more Ren and Stimpy.
