If only talk show hosts these days actually cared to present information rather than meaningless babble and gossip to fill up a time slot. The only thing that I can think of that was anything close to this on a general television show (Discovery and TLC aside) would be Mister Rogers.

I just watched the show on TLC and they showed the skin removal... omg... horrible horrible horrible... even after losing all the weight, his body is a mess... It's hard to describe, but his breasts don't look right... its all very burn-victimesque. Horrible horrible stuff.

*quality post. I agree that some of these channels could use some TLC. Perhaps we need to start allowing 100 stars that take an interest in a particular untended channel to take over, with the permission of the original founder, or by eminent domain if there is no response.

That is not always the case. Right now in Canada a few channels are seeking the right to charge cable companies to air their station because they get them free right now. Cable companies are protesting against it.

Comcast, Shaw, Rogers, Verizon, etc usually make their money just off their subscribers while Discovery, TLC, Fox, etc make money off the commercials. Stations want to change that so they make money from commercials AND subscribers.

Seriously, I remember when I would watch the Discovery Channel and it was serious, cool stuff (this was back when TLC wasn't a reality show channel ).

That is NOT karaidl! WTF is up with that???? Not everyone gets reprogrammed as well as jarheads-however, not many folks gets the luxury, of a drill instructor, though.....I am convinced, that the tlc-stfu, is the only real way, to drop unwanted excess, from the brain, and the body.
