Tintin movie: full trailer

mintbbb says...

I am not sure if I want to see this or not. It looks good, but I grew up reading the Tintin Comic books (and Asterix too), and the characters here just look wrong to me. Clothes are OK, faces are not. Besides, the comics were so fantastic, I am not sure if you can just capture the spirit in the movie. It might be good.. but no, I don't think I want to see it.

In 3D. Ughh.

Well, it's not like you have to watch it in 3D, and being CGI it is pretty straight forward to create it as 3D seeing as the scenes are 3D in the computer already.

Are we sure about that? My understanding is that many of these new releases have very limited 2D screenings.

Too fat Dag. The captain isn't that fat. He's just bearded, drunk, and mad as hell at everything.

First Tintin live action movie, back in the 60's.

There is only one thing about the new movie that will never seem right to me. Them speaking english... and have characters like Dupont and Dupond called Thomson and Thompson.

Tintin should be in french always. I hate dubbing, I really do. I always go for the original, but in this case I would consider buying the french DVD/Bluray just to get the right tone

Who would play Captain Haddock? I always pictured this guy

I am so glad this is an animated movie. It would have been so butchered if it were live action, unless it starred Simon Pegg as Tintin and Nick Frost as Cuthbert.

I'm way too cynical - but I never underestimate the ability of Hollywood to fuck things up.
>> ^EMPIRE:

they should. I mean. there were tv series and even a couple of animated movies done. I think the books translate very well and easily into movie form.

Wow, you just took me back.

These were HUGE for me before I really understood what I was reading:

1. The Very Hungry Caterpillar (40th anniversary 3/20/09)
2. The Monkey and the Crocodile: A Jataka Tale from India
3. Three Days On a River in a Red Canoe
4. The Giant Jam Sandwich
5. Any Tintin Books
6. Any Curious George
7. Where Did I Come From?

(maybe this belongs on a whole different thread)
