A380 hits a CRJ700 while taxiing at JFK

Opus_Moderandi says...

You mean "Surely no one was standing up in there."

I was standing at the cargo bin door of a SAAB once, getting ready to hop in when a CRJ-200's wing clipped the SAAB's wing and rocked it pretty good. I've seen incidents like in this video from aircraft being pushed back but, never from a taxiing aircraft and never that severe.

If you look to the lower right you see a glowing orb kind of shape moving towards the CRJ 7 and when the aircraft starts swinging around you see it hopping back, that's the marshaller's vest glowing. I'm curious as to who takes a hit for this, airport operations or the marshallers for not parking the CRJ 7 as soon as it got there... or the pilot of the airbus for just charging on through because some pilots are assholes like that.

Only Leslie Nielsen was.>> ^Payback:
That is some serious acceleration to the cockpit of the commuter plane. I hope no one was standing up in there.

Sixty Symbols on Why Glass is Transparent

Also, isnt't it pretty much insane that those two watery orbs in the front of our skull, plus the grey goo inside the skull, can decode photons into colors and eventually into a coherent threedimensional view of the world.

Nature has created some awesome bits of organic machinery.

Why livestreaming Minecraft is a bad idea.

It is his scream that makes this so full of win for me. Well that and the "renewed confidence" comment just moments before the Creeper showed up.
I came here for a good laugh before bed, but now I am thinking they are scary, and skeletons can be too when you hear their bow go off then ouch! They at least give more warning, but sometimes I hear them behind walls and can't find them so sometimes I get a little lax... and find death becomes me.

Yeah, so why does this make it a bad idea and not an ingenious one?
The Fable 3 "orb" thing... now that could be either ingenious or bad.

The entire thing was streamed, he had at least a few viewers (number is unknown) and all of them watching most likely had the absolute SHIT scared out of them, not only by the creeper, but by the blood-curdling scream let out upon him seeing the creeper.

Diablo 3 - Demon Hunter Gameplay Video (Blizzcon 2010)

MilkmanDan says...

I generally like ranger/archer class types, but this one looked a little weird from what I could figure out:

The shot the put glowing purple/black orbs around things and chained them together seemed to be a universal opener for the first half or so of the video. It seemed like nothing did very much damage without that being applied first, so it must either be a debuff or DoT. It looked odd.

Generally archer types get a good moderate-high DPS from rapid-fire normal attacks, but this looked like it was always debuff, spike, area attack (traps/short range circle). I'd like to see a fast string of default attacks.

Ok, not to steal any thunder but this is a simulation.
At 1:55'ish a green ball of light seems to bounces -behind- a person walking in front of the church. In other words, the person walking didn't light up, so the projector would have to be behind them.

Yes and no.

I have a projector at my house that can shoot an 80inch square onto a wall from only 10 inches away. It has an enormous lens on the front that's almost an orb, and calculates distance and makes necessary adjustments accordingly.

But yes, most of these were simulations, although the real deal is barely any different.

Check out urbanscreen.com's website for examples of real applications of this type of archetectural projections.
