Murmuration
Sit with me a while
And let me listen to you talk about
Your dreams and your obsessions
I'll be quiet and confessional
The violets explode inside me
When I meet your eyes
Then I'm spinning and I'm diving
Like a cloud of starlings
Murmuration
Ok, so I guess they are pretty cool when they fly all together, but damn do I hate starlings. I guess where I live murmurations aren't rare but I hate it when they do it in my yard. What a mess. I sometimes think they there are going to break my tree limbs when they decide to rest. Usually a good loud clap will scare them off.
Murmuration
Awesome - though I'm amazed they didn't end up covered in bird crap while spending any length of time underneath the starlings!

I know this is long and off topic. I found it linked on a male friend's facebook page and found it interesting.

I thought the combo of sex and science and violence might pique your interest, too.
This is NOT related to our previous exchange, except in the general sense of how it is different to be a man in our society versus a woman.
Starlings can talk!
Despite the creepiness of this one's song, I have a soft spot for starlings and their enthusiasm for life, and puddle baths.

Oh wow.. Starlings are so neat
MASSIVE flock of birds
Usually flocks that behave this way, from my experience, are starlings. I love it! Such a beautiful, mysterious, perplexing, awesome sight. I sometimes pull my car over when I can to watch them. Around here, Virginia, they usually act like this in the fall and early winter. Stupendous. it's like watching free-form, natural punctuation sometimes. Thanks, man.

>> ^flechette:
why the eia tag on this one?
LOL, because it's actual evolution in action for a change (the thinning of the herd) rather than someone doing a dumb stunt to get on YouTube. That's my guess anyways.

I call fake.
Take a thumbprint, put it in Microsoft Paint, hit a few buttons, bang, you've got a video of birds being divebombed by a rampant winged falcon.
Case closed.
You obviously spend more time in front of your computer than outside in nature...
