I love his standup, but hate stuff like this. I wish he'd quit the rambling podcasts and just craft more traditional jokes, so in that sense I agree entirely.

Maybe i'm completely wrong, but i thought he was pretty average this year. It felt a little like he'd bought into his own hype and instead of having the goal to be funny, he had the goal to be abrasive or harsh. I'm not saying he wasn't funny, but he wasn't a patch on the last two. Less about wit this time and more about 'rudeness'.

In the past few years i've been really worried that he's losing it. Life's Too Short was cringeworthy, Derek was the Karl Pilkington show and his standup was mostly from Karl too. Maybe i'm over exposed.

It's obvious Trev has the same talented writers, but I sure hope he finds his groove soon or they're going to have to bring back Stewart. I'm giving him a long benefit of the doubt because he's replacing Daily Show perfection, but he needs to grab a hold of something. Make it his.

The material is there, but his delivery is... meh... his standup is excellent. I wonder if he's someone who requires a lot of rehearsal to get the nuances in sync.

This is going to blow your mind but this is in the '80s channel, a place where videos from the 80's go. Hope you dont hear about the '70s channel, or vintage, that would really rock your world.

Must a video have a topical issue now?

Gay rights and equality are both quite topical and you dont find too many videos of mainstream popular entertainers from the 1980s, who are also gay, talking about being a gay popular entertainer while a popularly elected government was curtailing gay rights.

If you prefer cat videos, fails or standup, theres plenty of that being posted, this is for people who might be interested in something different.

I have seen a number of the skits from her show and while they often have something clever to them, they generally seem to lack a punchline. However, I find her entertaining in interviews (eg her appearance on Comedians in Cars).

So I thought maybe I just didn't care for her skits... Standup and sketch comedy are very different and being good at one doesn't mean you're any good at the other. A few weeks ago I found Women Who Kill on youtube and watched the whole thing. Amy was funny in that. Unfortunately, it's because she's basically performing Bonnie McFarlane's act.

I got to discover Marina Franklin, though, so that was a plus.
