Rampage Trailer 1

1) I love that game, and may actually see this undoubtedly awful film.
2) That Smashing Pumpkins song is a terrible fit.
3) There's no way the release date isn't purposeful.

What Makes John Bonham Such a Good Drummer?

glyphs says...

Holy crap, that's probably the same reason why I like early smashing pumpkins stuff so much. corgan and chamberlain were absolute virtuosos and getting your hands on a concert bootleg from before 2000 was an actual musical find. I got a few and those gigs were so diverse.
Anyone know of other bands with similar chemistry and ability?

The Best Part Is Going Home

The Shins (opening for Sebastian and Belle), Blink 182 (after they reunited), The Killers (three times), and Smashing Pumpkins.

Prior to that my only concert was when I was about 20 when I saw Michael Bolton after winning tickets on the radio. Nosebleed seats plus Michael Bolton; you can imagine how great that concert was.

Cranberries - I Will Always, and Wanted

ctrlaltbleach says...

Not that it matters to me but just for the hell of it I looked up both songs and The Cranberries came out with the album "Everybody Else Is Doing It So Why Can't We" in 1993. Modest Mouse came out with there album with "Bankrupt on Selling" in 1997. >> ^JiggaJonson:

That sounds suspiciously similar to "Bankrupt on Selling"

Probably just a commonly used strum; tho, if not, it'd be Modest Mouse lifting it off of the Cranberries since Lonesome Crowded West came out 4 years after Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?

On a side note The Smashing Pumpkins song "Disarm" is very similar in chord structure to the Cranberries "Zombie".

Hitchens Slams Vatican, Pope Over Sex Abuse Scandal

BoneRemake says...

yea I was just going to comment on the elevator music previous to the Smashing Pumpkins. Its Very distracting, I have to watch twice, once to rock out, and then again to find out whats being said by the conversationalists.

Hitchens Slams Vatican, Pope Over Sex Abuse Scandal

EmptyFriend says...

how about a serious question.... who is rocking out to some smashing pumpkins here??? it kicks in around 3:30>> ^shuac:

I certainly don't mean to belittle the serious issue here but...what, exactly, is going on with Christopher Hitchens' hair?

Smashing Pumpkins: Stand Inside Your Love

rosekat says...

>> ^jwray:
I don't like it because the lyrics are inaudible at first, and when I look them up they're daft.

Oh. Well I've always regarded it as a great song with beautiful lyrics. Perhaps you just don't 'get' this particular piece, which is fine and dandy. I've mediated on the implications of certain verses quite a number of times over the past decade.
