BARBARIC Dakota Access Oil Police Cause Mass Hypothermia

bcglorf says...

I was mostly wanting to point out that there was perhaps a touch of bias in the original description.

You are right about it being privately owned land involved. However, the construction and the original encampment and protests were all taking place on land that was privately owned:
Protesters have set up teepee and tent camps on land owned by Energy Transfer Partners to slow the progress of construction and have threatened to block the highway.

http://time.com/4548566/dakota-access-pipeline-standing-rock-sioux/

Since then the camps I understood have been moved off and the highway is now being blocked by the authorities to keep the trespassers from returning, but any references to the basic facts on that if I've got them wrong are welcome.

I'm not especially upset about illegal trespassing and obstruction of the construction to make a point and to protest that the law is wrong and all that. I am particularly bothered though when people begin to feel the case isn't strong enough and start lying about some of the parts that might cause people to question their methods.

@bcglorf

interesting how you classify the protesters as angry mob and rioters.

see,
this all on tribal land, owned by native americans, who welcomed this "angry mob" and "rioters" and the police are there NOT at the behest of the tribal elders, but DAPL,a private corporation attempting to push a private pipeline, for private profit, through privately owned land.

DAPL had even hired private mercenaries to keep the landowners off their construction site, who used attack dogs, mace, rubber bullets and worked alongside the police.it got so bad at one point that they had pulled police officers from FIVE states to keep those pesky landowner rabble down!

on a good note, those ancillary officer teams bowed out after a few days, saying that it was immoral and they were unwilling to participate.so the "police" you are referring to are most likely private security.

Funny how the perspective you tell the story from changes it entirely even while keeping to the overall same facts.....and then add some context.

democracynow has been doing excellent work on this situation,as has countercurrentnews:

and if you wanna berate those hiring the private thugs:

Ioan Gruffudd's Very Odd Name

Oh yeah, English is a total mongrel language. It happily steals words from other languages all the time. It's one of the reasons it's so versatile (and complex).

Arkansas, for example, is not an English word; it's a French pronunciation of a Sioux word!

Lilithia said:

Reminds me of the English language. That's even worse! They write "knee" and "knob", but say "nee" and "nob". They write "bomb" and "lamb", but say "bom" and "lam". "Women" is pronounced "wimin", for §$&%'s sake!
And look at this state name: Arkansas. Looks like it should be Ar-Kansas, right? Nope, it's Ar-can-saw.
You can't just make up your own pronunciation!

Sigh. Do you really want to go toe-to-toe, STINK?
Here's Barack, the clown YOUR sycophantic media elected.
Palin said "Squirmish?" Got it. Izzat anything like BHO's CORPSE-MAN?

“Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.” --BHO

“Thank you, Sioux City. … I said it wrong. I’ve been in Iowa for too long. I’m sorry.” -- said in front of Sioux Falls, SOUTH DAKOTA audience

“In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.”
---May 2007 speech. Actual death toll: 12.

A "few" other gaffes here.

"In their first meeting, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown gave Obama a carved ornamental penholder from the timbers of the anti-slavery ship HMS Gannet. Obama’s gift in return: 25 DVDs that don't work in Europe. His gift a month later to Queen Elizabeth doesn’t quite make up for the snub, either: an iPod full of his own speeches."

"The Chicago Tribune reported this little-noticed nugget about a fake autobiographical detail in Obama’s Dreams from My Father: 'Then, there’s the copy of Life magazine that Obama presents as his racial awakening at age 9. In it, he wrote, was an article and two accompanying photographs of an African-American man physically and mentally scarred by his efforts to lighten his skin. In fact, the Life article and the photographs don’t exist, say the magazine’s own historians.”

Minus the fibs, I couldn't care less if Barack steps on his Telepromptongue now and again. It's the whole inexperienced-total-failure-as-President part that bothers me.

Obama's Message To American Indians

13515 says...

No offense but that's the biggest bunch of PR bull I've seen him do in addressing minorities yet. (I'm all for helping my Sioux people and all other nations but this...) He's just like the rest who really doesn't give a darn on what's happening on American Indian lands...

Here's a man who is trying to win votes and can't even solve his own problems. Go to youtube and check out a man named Philip J. Berg, Esquire, [Berg is a former Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania; former candidate for Governor and U.S. Senate in Democratic Primaries; former Chair of the Democratic Party in Montgomery County; former member of Democratic State Committee; an attorney with offices in Montgomery County, PA and an active practice in Philadelphia, PA.

Beyond that... the democratic candidate is in favor of putting a hold on development of agricultural lands and production, natural resource developments, extractions and implementation and a so called reduction on the "US's importation of foreign gas and oil"?? Anyone who looks at the statistics can see for themselves that the largest exporter to the US on oil and gas is Alberta, Canada... so what's going to happen to all those employed in Alberta if he puts a "pause" to it so he can re-evaluate and lean more towards "middle eastern oils" because they are "cheaper", or has he already made promises he's not sure he can keep to other foreign leaders?

What about Crow Agency, Montana wanting to develop their own coal mine and profit from their mineral rights to improve education, healthcare and tribal lands?...

Thanks for reading;
From: An American Indian Female Who worked her ass off for scholarships and has her Bacherlors of Science in Agriculture and Natural Resouces. I'd rather write the name JOE WURZELBACHER or JOHN MCCAIN in on my ballot than OBAMA HUSSEIN BARACK
