Doom (Zero Punctuation)
ChaosEngineFrom memory, the developers openly admitted Brutal Doom was a huge influence on this game.
Sidenote: I have kind of a hard time calling this an id game, it's really more of a Bethesda game. No Carmack (John or Adrian), no Romero, Tom Hall.... there isn't really anyone left who worked on the original Doom (except Kevin Cloud).
Still heaps of fun though (the campaign anyway, not really bothered about the multi)
Oh and fuck the original Doom, it's all about Brutal Doom. That shit is hot and Id were definitely influenced by it creating this new iteration!

antYeah. I am old school and a fan of classic DOOM. This DOOM reminds me of DOOM 3. I did play John Romero's recent 2 DOOM E1 maps. Very fun!

I played John Romero's E1M8 with it last week. It was SO fun!
There's a saying about experiencing something a second time like it was your first, or whatnot. Can't think of it now. Doesn't matter.
If you haven't played "Brutal Doom", go do it. I can't express how amazing it was. It was like rediscovering doom all over again. I still remembered most of the stages and secrets and traps, but the Brutal mod just reinvigorates the entire thing. It has more satisfying "punch", and gore and action and just "aaaawwweeee shiiiiiit" than I could count. The best part is that it's just fluff. They didn't make custom levels or non-canon bullshit. It's just Doom and Doom 2, with just enough updates (mouselook) to be completely playable today, with an amazing attention to detail on new, and more, gore effects.
It. Is. Awesome. It's been years since I've laughed out loud because I was having so much fun with a game.

The shell-shock of newsspeak and race-baiting, media manipulation and fear-mongering caused this woman to go into shock while in the presence of a black man, probably because she lives insulated from their culture in some all-white sanctuary. She's no more developmentally-disabled that 85-90% of the entire Population of America.
Part of her initial association-reaction may have come from having seen zombie after zombie in film with dirt all over their faces or that deep-blue hue of necrotic flesh.
OR, her 1st zombie film (like mine) was George Romero's Dawn of the Dead, in which the first zombie of the film to take a heinous bite out of that persons shoulder, was a blackman zombie with a giant afro. That shit fucked me UP when I was 12!
I will never forget that brother....best zombie film still, ever made.
To cry "racist" from the utterance of one word is quite a stretch and usually denotes a lack of critical thinking capability of the user. Racism is a convenient label for assholes who think their shit does not stink, ESPECIALLY coming from an American.
Not accusing you of being an American or an asshole Gunter, but that kind of quip reminds me of the type of shit dick-berries from UC Berkeley would say, the ones who can find racism in a bowl of clam chowder.

WWZ sucked dangled goat balls, the Walking Dead series was a soap opera with chicken parts, and quite frankly, everyone you meet now in western cultures seem like the hollow-eyed stamblers depicted in these redux redux redux of Romero's take on the undead (no one since has really improved upon his depiction) The real zombies scare me more (neighbors, residents of cities of over 100K)....Ise fucking sick of zombies.

in El Salvador during the Regan/Ortega years, it was a direct hit to the heart. High-velocity 22LR round up to 50yards would do the job consistently. Also very little clean-up from ancillary damage, bullets are cheaper than drywall.
