8 Movies That Were So Bad They Had To Cancel The Sequel
I liked parts of Tron Legacy, but I think that it dragged a bit at points. It was kind of a rock opera with Daft Punk music though.
Phantom of the Opera- Lindsey Stirling
Phenomenal.
Phantom rock opera *ftw. A lot of range in that. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is how Axl Rose sounds like today! Rock In Rio 2011
I don't even understand where this guy went. GnR was releasing videos and there was talk about their "Rock Opera", or whatever...then they just dropped off the face of the planet without a word. Of course Slash kept doing his thing, because he's actually talented, but I never knew what happened to the band. Granted, I never cared enough to find out but it still seems strange that there wasn't much explanation.
The Decemberists- The Rake's Song and Hazards of Love 3
The whole album is one long narrative. The Rakes song is told from the perspective of one of the villains.
Taken from wiki:
The Hazards of Love is a rock opera, with all songs contributing to a unified narrative, similar to the use of recurring stories in The Crane Wife. The plot is a love story: a woman named Margaret (voiced by Stark) falls in love with a shape-shifting boreal forest dweller named William (voiced by Meloy). William's mother, a jealous fairy queen (voiced by Worden) and the villainous Rake (also voiced by Meloy) bring conflict to the album's story arc.[2]

I just spent 15 minutes trying to discover if this song was a traditional folk ballad -- "murder ballad" is the type of song, I discovered.
Nope. Just a masterful modern evocation of an old tradition.
Chilling.
World's Tallest Man (7'9") Saves Dolphins
here's the link to the rock opera ... sorry
World's Tallest Man (7'9") Saves Dolphins
there was a similar story of clifford ray (an american basketball player) reaching into a dolphin in california in 1978. I first heard of bao xishun recently from the rock opera though... its pretty cool. singing dolphins and all
Janet! Dr Scott! Janet! Brad! Rocky!
It's a rock opera, more or less. Much like Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar, or Hair. It's definitely -not- much like the traditional 50's musical...there's not all that much dancing.
I was introduced to the movie in an apparently unusual way. First, my friends hooked me on the soundtrack (it's still one of my favorite albums)...once I'd grown to love that, I finally managed to get around to seeing the movie.
I'd never have guessed that Susan Sarandon had such a nice voice.

Sounds like it's from sort of 80s Horror Rock Opera, haha. Interesting.

The Who - Shakin' All Over
It's the Who, live in concert. There is nothing else to say.
The Who are an English rock band that first came to prominence in the 1960s. They grew to be considered one of the greatest and most influential rock bands of all time, in addition to being "possibly the greatest live band ever."
The group originally had four members, but drummer Keith Moon died in 1978 and bassist John Entwistle in 2002. The two remaining members, guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Pete Townshend and vocalist Roger Daltrey, continue to perform as The Who. Their most recent studio album, Endless Wire, was released in 2006. The Who are #8 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, #9 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Rock 'n' Roll and the #8 artist of all time on acclaimedmusic.net.
From mod rockers to rock operas to hard rock, The Who reigned triumphant as prime contenders, in the minds of many, for the title of World's Greatest Rock Band. - The Who's display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
