Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Turkey Pardoning

Babymech says...

The psycho ex bit mirrors very closely an old video and meme of a slightly... obsessive girl who made a nude video of herself where she talks crazy to the camera. this was passed around the internet and set to, for example, the theme from Requiem for a Dream, to illustrate her creepy crazy. Not a great thing to admit to watching, what with the possible mental disturbance and the public mocking of private nudity and all... But it got much worse when it turned out that she was apparently in eighth grade when she made the video. Extra ew, then.

What's the music in this? I used to remember the name.

"Lux Aeterna," from the soundtrack for Requiem for a Dream, by Clint Mansell.

Seems like overkill that someone had to add a coir and symbols. Wasn't it epic enough to begin with? Still, nice montage.

Oh, I missed that. This is actually Requiem for a Tower, then, the version re-done for the Two Towers trailer.

Operation Sudden Fall: DEA drug bust at San Diego State U.

swedishfriend says...

If you have ever seen Requiem for a Dream you may have realized at some point that were there no war on drugs, all the shit that happened to the main characters has almost zero chance of happening. The main problem with drugs is that they are hidden, not the drugs themselves. More openness would lead people to make better more informed choices as to which substances they put in their bodies and how much they are actually using. It would be easier to get help and to notice people who might need help. It would free up resources to deal with problems rather than using resources to create problems. Etc.

Requiem For A Dream - Trailer

Trancecoach says...

it's not "fine" in the commercials section. It's an entirely different artform!

It's been in *cinema thus far, but it's undifferentiated from movie clips.

I think we might start to have the need for "subsections"

haha.. @dag'll love that!

They didn't even use the most used soundtrack for trailers ever that much.
I really want a trailers channel.

I totally agree. I think I brought it up once, but someone argued it's fine in the commerical channel.. something like that. Which is why I made a playlist
