Katie Porter On IRS Direct File

newtboy says...

2 things….

1. If you call the IRS today you get an operator, not an agent or accountant, and their advice is largely guessing…their unprofessional unpaid advice does not remove your responsibility to do your taxes correctly…it wouldn’t if they were an agent because they don’t have access to 100% of your financial records to make an informed suggestion and they aren’t retained by you for the advice. Republicans fought to keep from hiring more agents to answer phones by claiming they would be armed Jack booted thugs breaking into your home with military force instead of accountants sitting in offices waiting to help citizens. Now you whine.

2. The fox already watches the hen house. This is just letting them tell you what your taxes are instead of making you do the math and them telling you you are wrong. They already do this calculation, and use it to determine if you did your taxes correctly. (Side note- I know this personally because I often get notification I have over estimated my taxes by a minor amount and they have revised my refund accordingly.)

Wouldn’t it be nicer if they just told you what you owe and give you the opportunity to claim they’re wrong instead of making you take a math test first then doing the exact same thing?

Remember, it was Trump’s number one promise on the campaign trail, he would simplify taxes day one so you could do them on a 3x5 card. He never even tried, and taxes became more convoluted under him. He added special interest groupings (for multi millionaires) and gave them huge tax breaks while the middle class got a temporary payroll tax vacation they had to pay back the next year.

If you want simpler or lower taxes, forget about Trump. He made them more difficult and higher for nearly everyone AND added $8 TRILLION to the bill despite promising to simplify, cut taxes, and create a surplus. 🤦‍♂️

I agree with the points that she makes.

However 2 things

1st.
Under current conditions If you call IRS for a question and they provide an incorrect solution - you are still on the hook.

2nd.
This is looking like the fox watching the hen house.

Best solution is to make the tax code streamline simplified, cut out all the special interest group set asides.

Er mer gerd, the stupidity….the sound of freedom, the fake Q movie produced by Mexicans, is 100% being astroturfed by selling out entire theaters to make it seem popular, but multiple videos of these sold out showings are completely empty, not one single actual person in the sold out theater. Nice try at fake popularism, but another total failure at producing a fake movement.

What do you want to bet that the Trump campaign somehow used campaign donations to buy out theaters to pretend their Q message is popular?

Watch, soon they’ll be telling you what an important film with an important message that hundreds of thousands now “know” and tons of “facts” you need to know about the child trafficking adrenochrome cabal despite it being pure fantasy that even the creators won’t vouch for.
Another 2000 mules being sold to 2000000 jackasses that love being suckered by liars.

Just more MAGAQ grift…every single thing MAGA says is a lie, most of it is admissions couched in projection. Suckers.

BTW, the rapist Trump’s defense that his lawyers Giuliani and Powell and told him the coup was legal is a loser. Dozens more real lawyers without dementia told him it was illegal, as did the DOJ, and even Trump is recorded mocking the idiotic plan to send fake electors or have Pence choose the president himself, knowing how dumb and illegal both plans were, but later he decided they were his only options.
Not that it matters, his mindset can only be contradicted by Trump himself on the stand, and do you think any lawyer is dumb enough to let the rapist and liar testify? Can you even imagine the dozens of new charges arising from his contradictory and false testimony!?!
Also, his mindset doesn’t matter, it’s his actions that are on trial, not some thought crime. “I’m too dumb and ignorant to know I lost” is not a defense to fomenting multiple coup attempts.

😂 joy: 😂

Ruh-roe….there are new financial disclosures that show that Trump’s Save America PAC has been using small donor money to pay his and other witness and co conspirator legal fees and is broke, (now we know how he wasted over $50 million without paying his own lawyers, using the mob MO of hiring lawyers for subordinates that are loyal only to the Don, not their clients…those subordinates are usually convicted while protecting the crime boss) so busted that it has had to demand a $60 million refund from the MAGA Inc. SuperPac just to get through the year, a refund that also indicates illegal coordination between the SuperPac and Trump’s campaign. More illegal money laundering and SuperPac/campaign collusion (explicitly forbidden) so he could secretly use personal campaign donations for his mounting personal legal woes (including witness tampering by paying their attorneys, something a defendant cannot legally do).
He REALLY needs better attorneys, “my criminal attorneys told me to do the crimes” is not a defense, it’s a guilty plea. 😂

Jesus fuck….these morons you vote for, who vehemently oppose keeping the irs staffed and want to cut its workforce by 90000 are at the same time complaining on the floor how SLOW the irs is, that it can take months to get assigned an agent, and near a year to get a refund in many cases….but they don’t want to hire more workers, they want to drive off those that are left by removing their ability to telecommute and work from home. They are pretending that working from home is not working at all, but vacation.

I think their constituents would be shocked to see how much telecommuting the Republican representatives themselves do, especially if you consider it vacation.
More dishonest blame games over the repercussions of their own actions. More totally hypocritical stupidity. More “Do as we say, not as we do” because the right thinks rules and laws don’t apply to them….to paraphrase you, “only a fool would follow the law if it hurts them to do so”.

Typical daily hypocritical dishonest nonsense from your ilk, the most dishonest group of people to ever stain the planet.

In case you aren’t aware, this is one more red herring to distract you from their refusal to increase the debt ceiling unless they get their way, because tanking the economy doesn’t matter one bit to them….they’ll just blame Biden and idiots like you will agree.

517000 jobs in January. Something else they’re trying to distract you from….the fastest covid recovery of any country’s economy thanks to relief for lower income citizens after the worst economic fall from Covid while Trump denied Covid and gave handouts to millionaires.

newtboy says...

Today Trump admitted he gave stolen highly classified top secrets to China.

Also today antivax Diamond dead of Covid. Antivax Silk may be next. 🤦‍♂️

Sounds like also today Trump asked Republicans to default on the debt, because the resulting economic destruction would help him in 2024.

Today Republicans also announced they’re defunding and castrating the house ethics committee….they have no use for ethics, they have none.
They also announced the weaponization of the investigative committee by announcing an investigation into “the weaponization of the FBI” (but not any weaponization before Jan 20, 2020 when it was a pure shallow state club used against political opponents at the president’s explicit directions).
They also announced their investigations of all the investigations over their vote fraud schemes, election fraud schemes, and coup attempt….investigated by the very people who were under investigation for treason. That’s the Republican Party, pure self serving anti-American, unethical, immoral, and despotic.

Also today turns out election denier and fugitive “Santos” took another page from Trump’s playbook by taking illegal contributions from deported criminal foreign nationals…people convicted of gun and drug running and human smuggling (Chinese nationals he snuck in from Nassau). He was deported, but still gave Santos illegal cash donations among other donations, including over $25k in unreported free food for his campaign.
Also turns out he paid a staff member (allegedly) $100k to impersonate McCarthyks chief of staff on phone calls.
Santos is the face of the Republican Party. He exemplifies exactly what Trump turned it into. Frauds and liars, the lot of you are nothing but. Sure, some may SAY Santos should resign, but not one has called for his expulsion, or even a delay in swearing him in, and actions scream louder than whispered words they don’t mean.

Also today the republicans voted to defund the IRS because they are terrified the 2000 new investigators tasked with auditing people who make over $400k but pay no taxes will catch them being tax frauds. FYI, not a single dollar of the funding would go towards auditing anyone making under $400k per year. It’s hiring 87000 employees over a 10 year period the bill funds, well over 50000 of which replace retiring workers, over 30000 hire new workers to fill long empty positions (so maybe Americans wouldn’t have to wait 6+ months for their refund check). This would add trillions to the debt and the only protect criminals at the expense of every honest taxpayer.

Rub-roe.
Turns out most Trump businesses report earnings exactly the same amount as their tax exempt expenses to the penny….so paid zero corporate taxes. Somehow the irs under Trump didn’t see a thing odd about that.
This includes, among dozens of companies he claimed made exactly what they spent, the llc that owns his trumpforceone plane, the plane he charged the secret service exorbitantly to ride, millions of dollars in charges, it claimed $7382 in expenses and zero income….so claimed a business loss (and certainly asked for a refund) and zero income despite billing the government for millions.
Funny, Melania also has “business expenses” that exactly match her modeling income to the penny. Filing jointly with the worlds worst tax cheat is going to bite her….and you better believe she’ll cut a deal.
I know the sources you believe will not be covering this news.

Every bit of information we get about Trump indicates worse criminality than his worst enemies ever predicted on every single front. Friday is going to be…wild.

BTW, can you tell me what the Republican plan is to solve these 3 issues?
(three of your complaints were the same issue, oil, and at least 3/5 are not factual or omit the reason inflation was down and oil was cheaper last year is 2020’s disastrous leadership exacerbating the pandemic, and causing economic collapse….inflation was about 4.2% sept-sept. Time to raise rates from zero and stop handing corporations free loans.)

…because McConnell has announced that, once again, the Republicans will have absolutely no party platform in 2022, no goals they’ll admit publicly beyond “stop the president”, no plans at all for how to fix anything you claim Biden broke. Obstructionism is the entirety of what Republicans stand for in the next election….obstructionism and clinically insane conspiracy theories….but they wear your jersey so you’ll vote for them and chant the slogans like a good little rube.

Edit: Because you clearly don’t know, Trump is by far the best at dumping gdp into the septic tank….-3.5% q1 2020. -33%q2. Biggest drop by far in living history including the Republican led recessions of the 80’s and 2000’s. His last year total is a negative 3.5%…and you’re complaining about single digit inflation!!! Ha!
Just like the debt and deficit, the economy only matters to the right when Democrats are in power, and is completely out of their control and not their problem when Republicans are. Trump in 4 years spent more than Obama in 8 without starting deep in a recession he ended (but instead ending by starting one) and without creating a national health care system or anything beneficial…instead of tax and spend he tried refund and spend double on monuments to divisiveness, on credit if possible.

How'd you like Dumb Donald's low energy, rambling, disjointed, delusional, dementia ridden speech this weekend? He doesn't have a speech impediment, but he still cannot give a rational or intelligible speech, even when he's reading one. He's sure making Biden look good by comparison.

Are you getting time off so you can spend a grand to be in Don the Con's presence for a few hours? You do understand that he's telling you by planning these events that he knows there's zero chance he will be president again, despite what his crack head friends say.

When you buy your tickets, can you post the disclaimer that comes with it? I want to know how he words the "no refunds if I'm in court or prison on the event dates" clause.

Trump: Biden Will "listen to the scientists"

newtboy says...

Aaaahahaha. Jesus you're getting desperate, little Bobby.

Yes, I would trust Biden over biggest loser, Donny low T, with my money. Only one of the two can't even afford his lawyers and may lose dozens of cases because of it, like suing ex administration officials for violating ndas, multiple rape charges, multiple fraud cases, tax fraud cases, bank fraud cases, campaign finance fraud cases.... better mortgage your life to the hilt and give it to little Donny low T, he needs every penny.

Trump is broke, in massive debt to multiple foreign powers and is by his own admission the worst business man in the country with the biggest losses many years running....like another tax fraud where he filed for a $750 million refund for losses he caused a company he had been tossed out of...I think the Taj Mahal. (BTW, that is the "audit" he hides behind, a tax fraud case for $750 million stolen from the IRS through fraud...Not an actual audit of his recent taxes....but since every disclosure to different agencies claims massively different values for assets, debts, obligations, and credit lines, he cannot let them be published because the frauds would be blatantly obvious.)

Now a question for you, Bobski....which would you trust your teenaged daughter with? The lecherous rapist of teenaged girls, or Biden? (Note, she won't get paid for getting raped either, since Trump's broke.)

Trump Tax Bombshell Reveals How the System Is Rigged

newtboy says...

Um....yeah.....not really.
He filed late, using every possible delay tactic, then when he filed he paid $750, not the millions in estimated tax liability. His income tax WAS $750. I'm guessing the $5.2 million were those estimated taxes which he didn't pay in the end, or payroll taxes, or other taxes, but not income tax. Exactly what your quote says.
His payments wouldn't roll forwards, they would go to pay for the $75 million refund he improperly claimed for losses at Taj Mahal after he was thrown out. That's what he keep calling an audit, he's being sued to return the fraudulent tax refund he took. His total outstanding debt to the federal government is estimated at $100000000.

Edit: What I think you mean is the tax write off credits/capitol losses from his enormous losses carry over. That's different from him making any "payments".

No, they don't reveal NEW connections to Russia, they do however confirm some of the old connections he's denied.

The whole premise is to allow the public to understand who the man is, they did. He's a fraud who's debts likely outweigh his assets.

Chaucer said:

Seth once again proving how big of a moron his is. NYTimes clearly crafted the article to sound like he only paid $750, but those were his tax liability fees.....what people are failing to read is that in the very same smear article, he actually paid $5.2 million.
"Each time, he requested an extension to file his 1040; and each time, he made the required payment to the I.R.S. for income taxes he might owe — $1 million for 2016 and $4.2 million for 2017. But virtually all of that liability was washed away when he eventually filed, and most of the payments were rolled forward to cover potential taxes in future years." - NYTimes.
and at the very end of the NYTimes article indicates "Nor do they reveal any previously unreported connections to Russia"
wasn't the whole premise of releasing his tax returns was because there were ties to russian collusion?

I'm not OK with armed kids shooting up any neighborhood.

If you're presenting Rittenhouse as such a kid, that's a bad faith argument. There is no evidence that 'shooting up the neighborhood' was in any way his motivation when he positioned himself in that neighborhood.

All public information points to him being there to discourage destructive elements (such as armed looters) from taking action in that neighborhood.

The ostensibly guilty parties being a hard target doesn't transform innocent easy targets into valid targets.

Most damage is done to private businesses and of vehicles (with the odd unfortunate being beaten to a pulp on the street).
Minneapolis had homes and churches damaged. I can't speak to homes in other locations because I haven't read up on them.

Property wise:
Property takes money to acquire.
Money takes time to acquire.
Time requires life.

(Not all insurance covers 'angry mob')

If it takes you 3 months to work to purchase something, and someone destroys it, they are taking 3 months of working life away from you. Unless they can refund you that life time, that's life time lost forever.

Reality is : Property is only 'just property' when it's not your own property.
If you can't defend property with force, then people are simply free to show up and take everything you have, and you just have to accept it. I don't know anyone who is ok with that (I doubt you are ok with it happening to you, but maybe I'm wrong).

Generally, I empathize with innocent people. So I lean towards the property owners in these cases.

So, you're ok with armed kids traveling to come shoot up your neighborhood? Ok. Interesting position, but I bet it would change the nanosecond a bullet enters your house.

They have attacked police stations in some cases, but now police deploy heavily at their stations knowing they're a target so it's harder to get close.

Have you seen homes looted? I haven't.

Yes, people here think for themselves and analyze information from multiple sources to come to a conclusion. There is no other possible conclusion if you see the facts, DeJoy hobbled the post office to interfere with it's ability to facilitate an election under quarantine. His actions did not save the post office money, they cost money....lots of money, and did not enhance the ability of the post office to deliver mail, they severely hampered it.

We aren't brainless cult members who believe a repeatedly convicted con man over evidence. Some people will believe anything that consummate liar tells them over logic, reason, and their own eyes and ears.
