Parents letting their kids play in the ocean full of oil....

Unsung_Hero says...

If you don't feel like watching this 4 and a half minute video here is a recap... Surprisingly it can sum up nearly everything going on in the video and everything the guy recording actually says.

"Yes this is actually oil on the beach at Destin Beach Florida"

"I can't believe this beach is still open for people and kids to play in"

"Look, it's even in the water"

Ponce, did you really change the tag to "makup?" At least spell it right.
Oh, and the "spirit of the Sift" is a cat fart and a bunch of dudes jacking it to any uncovered female skin. I ruined nothing.

Sorry Thinker but I disagree with what you did. Let me recap for those who didn't see: You marked this with all sorts of channels which had nothing to do with what she is talking about such as middle east, politics, religion, waronterror, etc.

If she had actually talked about those things, and been the total idiot she is, that would be one thing, but she does not have anything to do with those channels and has nothing to do with them. It is one thing to title it the way that you did, that much is fine, but to claim that the video contains content it doesn't is just going to encourage the inaccuracy of searches on the sift. If I am looking for a video on something involving those topics and I'm led to this, I'd be pretty pissed. It is the EXACT same thing as putting a bunch of irrelevant tags on the now famous "Rickrioll" video in an effort to get people to watch something they don't want to.

Now, Thinker, I like you a lot, your sifts are usually quality. In fact, I'll go as far as to say that you have a real find here in terms of discovering one of the internet's newest sensations as far as vapid wastes of space. But I think it has been established that joke channelling isn't really right. I'll also go on to say that you caught me at a really testy time yesterday. I was pissed about a lot of stuff and this bitch really just pushed my buttons. SOOOO! In the effort not to be acting as the judge here, why don't we:

Man Faces Jail Time for Recording Plainclothes Cop

Shepppard says...

This is old news, this happened right after the video itself took place.

I recommend everybody watching this video follows the link Here and reading the comments.

Most of your rabbling about the officer being a bad cop has already been addressed.

As for the video being pulled, it's most likely to protect the actual officers identity. Believe it or not, cops DO infiltrate things like biker gangs, or criminal outfits, and having his face plastered over the internet is potentially lethal to the officer, should his cover be blown.

The police DON'T have anything to hide, watch the video in the link above. The stop was completed perfectly. The biker can say what he wants.. read burds comments in the link above, he knew there was a cop behind him, he even looks right at the cruiser before he's forced to stop.

The plain clothes officer gets out of his car, never raises his gun towards the biker, once he's off the bike, he puts the gun back away, still having never pointed it at the biker, and actually guides him off the side of the road.

Edit: One final note, and a recap of a comment I posted in the link above.

Unmarked cars have lights built into the grill, and the dashboard in front of the passenger seat of their car. You don't get a chance to see the grill or passenger dash in this video.

Actually, considering how much they've been gouging you for years, this is a bit of karmic retribution.

Teabaggers Begin Campaign of Terror Against Democrats

NetRunner says...

Let's recap this:

NetRunner titles video "Teabaggers Begin Campaign of Terror Against Democrats".

@blankfist stops by to say:

What did you expect? When people perceive the government will take more money from their wallets, especially during hard economic times, how did you expect them to react? They're frustrated because they feel weak and out of control.

Then, in response to a comment NetRunner writes in response to another topic, blankfist says:

NetRunner, stop being an apologist. It's so damn becoming of you.

Suicide Note of Texas Pilot Who Crashed Into IRS Building (Fear Talk Post)

Stormsinger says...

Double-think much?

Let's recap what you've claimed...

The guy that crashed his personal plane into a building full of people (a few of which were government employees), was a poor abused soul forced to protest (the results of his attempt to evade his taxes) in the only way left to him.

Myself, who has protested against -every- war the US has been involved in during my lifetime, who pays taxes because I believe that members of a representative democracy -should- contribute to the common good, I am a terrorist.

I give you 1984, in the flesh. You can't fucking argue with logic of -that- quality.

Where do you stand on HCR without a public option? (Politics Talk Post)

"You're beating your chest as if the cons are going to take over in 2010 or 2012 and fix everything, and it's PRECISELY BECAUSE OF THEM and the people who support them--that's why we're in this mess."
Psh. What has the completely Democrat-dominated government done? Nothing. Unemployment is higher than it's been in almost 30 years, the deficit is staggeringly enormous, and we're still at war... This "change" has failed by every measure of the word.
"Fix everything?" Unlikely.

Okay, let's recap:

You support Democrats being kicked out of office, to be replaced by Republicans, because after less than one year, Democrats haven't fixed all the major, catastrophic problems Republicans have caused over the last decade?

Add to this that you are having a back and forth in the first place because you smugly voiced support for the filibuster primarily because it is effectively blocking Democrats from instituting real reform?

Accountability, Republican-style:

  1. Run a campaign to take over a nuclear plant based on sticking to the highest standards of safety
  2. Once hired, skirt all safety restrictions for years until the plant melts down
  3. Once fired, do everything in your power to sabotage your replacement's cleanup efforts
  4. Run a campaign to take over the cleanup because your replacement hasn't cleaned up your mess fast enough

Bonus points for claiming throughout that you think nuclear plants are the source of all evil in the world, and that when they fail on your watch it just proves you were right, and therefore should always be in charge.

TDS - Jon Stewart Interviews Ron Paul 9/29/09

GeeSussFreeK says...

You can't only have one dollar bill in circulation. Likewise, having the same amount of dollars in circulation that we had in 1800 would be unwise. Commodity based currency of a relatively stable good is a smart way to insure that the money supply scales well with economic growth.

Just in recap, printing a dollar does not increase total goods and services available for consumers. Having a legal tender that is completely subjugated by people who benefit off inflation in unwise. Having a tender than does not or can not scale with increased economic growth is stifling. And having a currency that can be easily undermined by inflation is impoverishing.

American Ace Takes on Half the Luftwaffe

I used to watch shows when i was in america and one thing that drove me to absolute fucking despair was the frequency of the adverts. It felt like every 2 minutes there were adverts and then a recap to sit through which lasted 30 seconds so you only ended up with 90 seconds of content in every 8 minutes. Used to make me rage

Now, i watch shows that were originally on american tv shown on sky tv or such, and every few mins we get a fleeting black screen followed by a recap, cos we don't have the frequency of adverts

Fear Mongering About Health Care Reform From The Right Wing

Yogi says...

"What is a more democratic version of health care than having a democratic government running health care?"

Health Care is a stunning example of just how undemocratic America really is. For decades a majority of the population has wanted free and easily accessible health care up to 80% (polling and such). Yet in the 2004 election during one of the debates pundits pointed out that John Kerry didn't bring up the idea of Free Health Care because it has so little political support. So little meaning only a majority of the people, however it's the people that don't matter. In the 2008 elections it became a topic but not because we've become more democratic, it's because the system we have now costs a ridiculous amount of money. General Motors realized that it costs them $2000 more to make a car in Detroit than it does in Windsor (Canada). The state pays for health care so it's just much more efficient and cheaper, with better results than what we have now. So to recap, Free Health Care only because an issue that had Political support not when a majority of the public wanted it, but when business interests realized it was hurting their bottom line.

That doesn't sound like a very democratic society to me.
