Fool motorcyclist gets to see what a Glock looks like(00:23)

(00:23) Sure, the guy was showboating and riding like a dick, but the surprise came four days later when the cops showed up to confiscate all his computers and arrest him. "Showboating" is a nice word. "Recklessly putting people's lives at risk" would be more accurate imo. It's not just his selfish ass that is in danger if he falls over. The highway isn't the place for popping wheelies. That said, I have seen several cases now about this audio recording of cops bullshit and it is clearly a twisting of the law.

Here's the longer version for convenience:

Still safer than driving while using a cellphone in MY opinion. Those people should have guns drawn on them for endangerment of public safety. I think he just didn't want him to flee.

The title should be changed , its completely inaccurate once one know the entire truth of the situation. why the hell would someone cut it down like that ? showing a scene without proper context.

Meh, I hate these kinds of bikers, it's people like these that give the rest of us a bad reputation.

He was going way over the speed limit, and the thing you DON'T see is how close were the people he was weaving between.

The other day I was on the highway, not on my bike, 5 lanes, I was in the one second from the left. My exit was coming up, so I start to move over. Two guys on bikes come flying out of nowhere going at least 125 km/h and cut into my lane literally 2 feet infront of my front bumper causing me to swerve back into the lane I was in.
Fortunately before I started back towards where I needed to be to exit, I saw the third biker come flying by.

As for the actual video posted, the guy gets out of his car and draws a gun, yes. Not once is the gun pointed at the biker, and as soon as he starts to get off the gun is put away. Once the guy is off the bike, the cop makes sure he's off the road and away from traffic, and then just starts talking to him.

Not sure what the reason for seizing the computers is, but if he's been videotaping himself breaking the law.. then it's a tad justified.

Quite right Bones my man. Changed from "Motorcyclist Arrested For Recording Cop Brandishing Gun ". Probably plenty of votes in that one too. Pardon my lazy copypasta from the article. >> ^BoneRemake:

I don't give a shit what the biker was doing. That cop should be fired, and here's why. Pull a weapon with no identification, and just say you are State Police? Given different circumstances that cop could have been killed for that break in protocol, or put innocent lives of motorists in danger. In my state the unmarked cars have lights and sirens.

What would he have done if the biker had fled? Shot him? I'm sure that would have been all well in court, as he was subduing a dangerous criminal. Felony speeding is not assault with a deadly weapon.

I'm all for the biker being arrested but I'm also pretty fucking pissed about the weapon with no identification. Shit makes me irate.

I'm also a bit pissed they took all his shit for a faulty wiretapping law. Schmawy thanks for the context, I was under the impression that the cop was being a dip-shit.

The (marked) state police car was directly behind him. They were chasing the guy down. Watch the end of the longer video. The guy on the bike knew he was being pulled over .. watch him look behind himself at 3:00 before he finally has to stop. This guy was fleeing. The cop was totally in his rights to draw his weapon, which he immediately holstered after he had the situation under control.

Weird how there's no audio (sirens) in the longer version isn't it?

I saw no lights on that vehicle, no way to signal to other motorists the danger of an emergency situation.

That's "marked" car? Where are the lights? I don't see the red and blue.

In other words! Freeze! Enhance!

Dinna watch the long version yet....Did the guy endanger or potentially endanger other motorists lives during the burn?-Should the answer be yes, does not the average distracted buffoon on their phone, putting on make-up, or tending to an infant in the back seat watching TOY STORY and spilling Gatorade on the seats, do the same thing every motherfucking day in Any City, USA?

Motorcyclists generally pay way more attention to what os going on around them than the average banana-muncher...the cop was fair in drawing the gun, others were involved in the stop...the cyclist performed admirably in this clip, and accepted the potential consequences before donning his or her helmet.

"OHHHHH, It's sooo bad what he or the cop did!"

No. All is as it should be.

@NordlichReiter

For the record, most unmarked police cars have lights built into the grill, and something over the passenger dash.

Neither of which can be seen closely enough to tell if the car is marked or not.

Also, burd, upvote for actually getting the zoom goddamn enhance.

I thought the cop showed reasonable but not perfect professionalism. Should have identified himself with a badge but he showed good muzzle control (wait, did he off safety with the other hand?). @NordlichReiter has a point though because even knowing that the guys was a cop before watching the video I had the impulse to hit the throttle when seeing a guy get out of a very uncoplike car with a pistol. I probably would have slammed right into him in my panic.

And @Shepppard you're right about him making all the rest of us look bad for being on bikes and this is no place to F around, but at the same time I gotta say a wheelie is not as remarkable event as a non-rider would think. All in all I agree with @choggie "All is as it should be".

NordlichReitersays...

Use of Force Continuum. In short the weapon was not needed. Soft Physical force seemed to be the only thing necessary to place the biker under arrest. By pulling the weapon the trooper went straight to lethal force, or the threat of lethal force; easier but it changes the dynamic of the situation. Especially when he re-holstered the weapon, that could have prompted the biker to flee because his life was in danger or given the biker enough time to attack once he knew the officers guard was down.

If I would have drawn my weapon the biker would have been given verbal orders, and I would have stayed at a safe distance; until the biker was on the ground in face down position. One thing that bothers me most about this video, is that he was well within 6 feet of the biker without first verifying there were no weapons. If the biker was inclined to attack with a concealed blade then the officer would be in a dire situation, and probably maimed or worse.

That's why the trooper in the cruiser, thanks burdy, is a good distance from the bike and approaching from the rear. Now, that is protocol what the plain clothes cop did was not, protocol.

I have training in the subject below; Continuum of Force which they give to all security and law enforcement officers. Presenting a weapon is always, a last resort. No matter the situation.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Use_of_force_continuum

1. Physical Presence
2. Soft Hands
3. Mace or Pepper Spray
(A K-9 unit would fall here)
4. Hard Hands
5. Police Baton, etc.
6. Threat of Deadly Force
7. Deadly Force

KnivesOutsays...

It seems that by showing his weapon, he's making a show of how serious he is (or the situation is.)

"This is no joke, don't fuck around."

Procedure? I have no idea. But it appears to have gotten the rider's attention.
