California Rehab Program Rife with Fraud
What i find a shame is that they can legally charge me $20,000 for 3 hrs in the hospital because i fell off my bike (which ill be in debt for forever probably), or 750 dollars a month they want to charge me at costco for one of the antidepressants I was taking (paid about 100 a month from Canada for the generic which they cant sell in the US). Also there is the $8500 my dentist wants to replace two of my front teeth which ill need in the next year or two. Personally ill take my chances with socialized medicine as I dont have the kind of money it takes to get better when i get sick or hurt. None of us should have to choose between medical attention/medication and the ability to eat or pay the bills. Thats just the way I see it. Thanks for letting me vent.
edit
Charging a patient $15 for a Tylenol is an absolute legal healthcare fraud(imo), but thats just good American business. http://www.rd.com/slideshows/wildly-overinflated-hospital-costs/#slideshow=slide1
and my apologies for going off topic @MrFisk
I guarantee, as healthcare becomes more socialized, we're going to see a whole lot more of this.
Such a shame.

2/3 rds of all food sold in america is GMO.
that would qualify as "almost all".
http://blogs.smithsonianmag.com/ideas/2012/06/food-modified-food/
which is friendly to the GMO debate.
http://www.disabled-world.com/fitness/gm-foods.php
not so friendly to the debate.
while i will agree this is not a one dimensional discussion i cannot agree with your statement that this video would be considered uneducated slactivism.
corporations are amoral,not immoral,by design.
monsanto has purchased legislators and judges to enact laws which solely benefit them at the cost of society.veiled in secrecy and an army of lawyers that would make scientology blush.
you should really check the documentary channel out.there is a wealth of information concerning this behemoth corporation and how it does far more harm to our future food supply than good.
"This means that almost all of the food you see in a typical grocery store is pure poison, genetically modified."
More important than simply being factually untrue, this statement shows that whoever put this information together doesn't take any time to understand the complexities of the issue.
Don't get me wrong - I'm definitely a local farmer's market kinda guy - but this kind of uneducated slactivism really pisses me off and does more harm than good because the people that actually make a difference can somewhat justifiably write them off.

Welcome to America (Cop vs German Tourist)
The camera was in the passengers lap and the officer came up on the passenger side. On a freeway it is standard procedure to come up on the non-traffic side in case someone sideswipes the car.
I just wish I could see his badge number because he should be on write-up for that crap. It's people like him that give other DPS officers a bad reputation.
The reason why he let them go is because Reckless Driving in Texas is a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine and/or 30 days in jail plus the speeding ticket. Most officers will not bother with this if the person is foreign because they will most likely not be in the country long enough to show up for trial. If he had been a long time resident, it would be up to 200 dollars for the fine, up to 300 for the ticket (depends on location, we have some different scales in certain cities), 2 points on his license (doesn't block you from keeping it, just means that you have to pay extreme renewal fees), and the possible jail time. Anything over 10 days would be served at County, so I guess it is possible for anal violation, but I've never seen someone get more than 10 for RD.

Is that because I am French and not f.ck.ng American ? Stupid American b.st.rds !!!
Coulter stands by controversial word used to describe Obama
>> ^Sagemind:
I dislike her and don't agree with any of her blunt, rude comments BUT the word retard has a definition and can used as such.
re·tard 1 (r-tärd)
v. re·tard·ed, re·tard·ing, re·tards
v.tr.
To cause to move or proceed slowly; delay or impede.
v.intr.
To be delayed.
n.
1. A slowing down or hindering of progress; a delay.
2. Music A slackening of tempo.
The word does not mean stupid - it means "To move slowly" and may be used in reference to someone who responds slowly. A very intelligent person can retard the process to get a clear perspective on the situation or to stonewall.
I use retardant in my paint so it drys slower.
Even used as a derogatory term, the word at best, means one is slow. I don't agree with her using the term in the way she did and she was clearly lashing out like a child having a temper tantrum but to the meaning of the word itself, I see so issues here.
Piers needs to let this one go and move on.
Hmmm the only problem with this argument is that right underneath the section of the website you quoted there's this:
re·tard 2 (rtärd)
n. Offensive Slang
1. Used as a disparaging term for a mentally retarded person.
2. A person considered to be foolish or socially inept.
Now I'm all for free speech, even offensive free speech when it has something important or meaningful to say but this is the entirety of Anne's tweet: “I highly approve of Romney's decision to be kind and gentle to the retard.”
Which to me lacks any real substance and says nothing of consequence or importance. In fact its just plain nasty and shallow.
