Jon Stewart Goes After Fox in Ferguson Monologue

bareboards2 says...

As for the audio of the shots fired, I fear it actually supports the cop's story, as heinous as it still is.

It appears there were a series of quick shots, a pause, then four more shots at a measured rate.

Michael was shot six times from the front.

The cops have stated that the police officer fired several shots at Michael and his friend as they ran away. None struck either of them -- no bullets entered from the back. (And luckily no bystanders were shot. Bullets travel far!!!)

Which means that Michael stopped, turned and was shot. There was a pause, at which time Michael could have "charged", hence the more measured firing.

Was the cop in danger? Were there other things he could have done? Could he have shot at his leg and dropped him? No. Yes. Yes.

But see my post above.

Fucking Stand Your Ground fucking paranoid irresponsible fear mongering bullshit that is used to exonerate racist and/or stupid actions.

Pisses me off. Can you tell?

Old Man Digging Up Clams

This was more entertaining than any Harlem shake nonsense. Makes me wish I liked clams more. And by clams I mean actual clams not vagina(saw that coming.)

Love the quick shot of the hat at the end.

I honestly never pay attention about the video,I just LOVE their music and her voice

In reply to this comment by jmzero:
I like her voice too, and I think there's potential here... For this one, I think they should have bumped up her levels - the instruments aren't doing much interesting - and generally I don't think this is a great song for her.

Less important, but much worse: the video is really bad, worse than the high school bands I see now. Just the band altogether playing in some rocks (shot from a few angles) during the day would have been fine. Generic, but fine. Or have a little story or something if you want, but if you do that you need to commit a bit. Or have her just kind of randomly walking in a cave, like 1/3 of 1980s videos. But what they got - her just kind of rocking like that, randomly interspersed with thunder, quick shots of someone else (with distracting transitions and time shift), and repeated "fade out" cliches - is distractingly bad.

So I'm somewhat disturbed by that quick shot of the "fans."

wow chogs... a libertarian after my own heart

sort of. I'm not sure I'm ready to return to law of the jungle just yet. Maybe enough years of realizing that there is a ruling class, and we ain't it, might change my mind.

For the moment, though, I'm still willing to believe that not everyone is just looking out for #1.

quick shot - The one problem with legalizing _all_ drugs (and for the most part I'd probably favor it anyway), is that there are substances out there that regardless of who you are - they will break your mind. And broken minds are really dangerous to be around, kind of like psychotic kidnapping dictators with the largest standing army on the planet. Ok, not the best analogy, but I hope you get the point.
