Third Eye Open: String Tribute to Tool.
Yea, it looks like the same CD released under different names. Anatomica has both CDs, but there might be other names as well.

I'm still playing. What's your excuse?

Kidding, I know you have bigger fish to fry. Porgy and Bess isn't the same without you. It's a terrible feeling knowing that I must be getting old, since I frequently find myself wishing the brass section were more well-behaved and mature during rehearsals. Goddamn kids.
Oh. Right. I should probably comment on the video too. That woman does a killer lip trill. Jealous.

This makes me miss playing. What about you, HaricotVert?

I also believe that it is meant to offend, but it has gone beyond offensive to outright insulting, IMO. To each his own, I suppose.

It sounds to me, without knowing any context, like this is a piece of sardonic political commentary, with the intention of being offensive to the ear. Not sure if it's pro or con - if he weren't an avant-garde jazz musician, I'd go with con.

To my untrained ear this is just painful, but maybe you, as a musician, could appreciate it? Just way too much dissonance for my taste.

Hanumi Saxophone Quartet plays 'Adagio for Strings'
I agree it is nice playing, but it sort of leaves me wondering, "Why?" It's sort of like the perfect movie.... when someone comes along and remakes it with newer actors, what does that really add to the world? With the amount of writing going on these days for sax quartet, I'm not certain they NEED to have this one in their repertoire.
With that said, so much better than the settings of this piece I have seen for concert band, brass quintet, and <shudder> marching band.
This horse would rather not have 4 kids riding it at once
Lots of simultaneous crying....HAH! A regular babydrop quartet!
