TYT - A Great Way To Save USPS, But Will It Happen?

chingalera says...

Greeeeat, turn the fucking postal service into a flat-rate criminal usury house. They already have the facilities in place. Yeah, run this bitch for president.

A seemingly genuine gangster...It's sentiments like yours EDB, that make the sane wanna run screaming from Amerika

Woman thinks all postal workers are after her

budzos says...

I'm taking back the word crazy. A friend of mine was discovered to be deeply schizophrenic and for years since then I've felt bad about using the word crazy. But you know what? My friend is crazy. He sees the world in a crazy way. The woman taking the video is definitely crazy and she's also an asshole. I for one don't feel we should accept disruptive behaviours from an asshole just because that asshole is crazy. I feel sorry for the postal worker. If I were the postal worker I'd be feeling paranoid that the lady was going to start some more shit, and if she came around again I'd give her one warning before calling the cops about her harassment and slander (uploading videos to YouTube that show me and call me "stalker").

Woman thinks all postal workers are after her

JustSaying says...

Looking at this downvote-fest clearly shows that mental illness is like flying planes and swimming with sharks. Everytime something horrible happens involving planes, sharks or insane people it's on the news, becoming the big story. Somebody shot up a school, details at five o'clock. Every fucking time.
These stories of terrible perril and death are so interesting, we make the best blockbuster cinema out of them: Psycho, Jaws and Snakes on a Plane (the double whammy of scary things!).
We're conditioned to fear that stuiff, we're comfortable fearing that. It looks and sounds scary and everybody can come up with easily terrifying scenarios.
Nobody is afraid of driving their car though. I wonder what the statistics make of that.
First of all, "better lock her up, she might get herself killed" is not an argument to lock up the crazy lady, it is an argument to lock up the postal worker. Before he goes postal on her. Yeah, that was a great pun, you better clap. But I meant: before he stands his ground.
Second, "she might be dangerous!"
Really? How do you know? Should we get the cops to taser her into submission? How would you like that video, "mentally ill woman tasered by cops"?
I see no weapon, I see no hint of her trying to get too close to that guy. She vents some paranoia and then leaves. She goes away. That's it.
Sure, her other videos may make her creepier but that's her thoughts she posting. I'm a man. If I'd walk around with a camera and record every thought of mine, I'd probably been locked away by now because there's a lot of people I'd like to shoot. In my thoughts. Not even touching upon the sex stuff here. Our thoughts tend to be weird and creepy. It applies to all of us.
Hers are just of the rails, as in mentally ill. And she's oversharing.
And finally, I'm not Chairman Woo but I endorse his message. And he saved me lots of typing.

This is wrong on so many levels.
Where are the camera footage from inside postal office?

I have kids an they do run around, their kids, Its wrong but they are kids, kids do that, They pick up what they aren't supposed to and do stuff they are not supposed to. They are kids That's what they do.

If the postal workers actually gave a hoot towards their customers then this would not have happened.

But isn't the real issue lack of customer service? Or is it the fact that 1 Government employees don't give a hoot towards its customers and 2 they are union employees.

From YouTube:

These are some highlights of Mission Police Departments Finest!
This is Mission, Kansas PD to be clear.
UPDATE 7/8/2013 - The lead prosecutor for Mission, Kansas, has communicated to our late criminal defense attorney that he would like me to remove my YouTube video of the officers arresting my wife. Should I choose not to remove it, Martin states he has the ability to get a judge to sign a protective order that would force me to take it down. Martin also mentioned some type of diversion if my wife would be willing to release The Mission PD of any liability as they were only responding to the Postal workers call. When all this is over I'm moving. I don't want to even live near Mission Kansas.

After nearly two months of being told repeatedly by the Mission police that there was no dash-cam video, here it is! It's a MIRACLE we even got it. The officers in the video are Michelle Pierce & Officer Tim Gift. Special appearance by the bald-headed officer who is NOT named nor even mentioned as being on the scene in the police reports. This officer is the one who was threatening my wife with having CPS take our two youngest daughters away. This could happen to YOUR wife & daughters next if these officers are allowed to get away with this!

-HOW WE GOT THE VIDEO-
We had to have an attorney subpoena the videos of all three officers on the scene. We ALSO had our attorney request of the Post Office in writing AND in person for any video footage. We kept getting the same answer. "There is NO video!" FINALLY, My wife called the courthouse to ask about the videos. The courthouse transferred her to a woman named Suzanna at the Mission PD. My wife asked Suzanna if she had gotten a subpoena for video evidence. The woman instantly said "IS THIS ABOUT THE POST OFFICE INCIDENT?" My wife said "Yes", shocked that this woman already knew what the phone call was about before my wife could even explain... The woman quickly said, "There are NO videos." My wife then told Suzanna, "That's a LIE. I KNOW there is a video because I was THERE when Officer Pierce walked in & asked Officer Gift if his cam was on & he said yes. Officer Pierce then asked for Officer Gift's dash-cam password which he gave her in front of me!" The woman on the phone got very quiet. She then asked my wife, "So you were THERE-- IN the building?" My wife said "Yes! I was sitting RIGHT THERE!" The woman on the other end got quiet again & my wife then hung up. THE VERY NEXT DAY, our criminal defense attorney called & said he had good news. To his surprise, Officer Gift had a dash- cam video & they sent it to our attorney! Wow-- What a coincidence! =/
It's a shame we only got one video, but it's better than nothing.

The revolving door relationship of Booz Allen and Washington

radx says...

I wouldn't say it's completely overlooked. Heck, we still have the paperwork of our former national telecommunication/postal company that detailed the construction of special rooms at the IXPs and other nodes for just this purpose. I suppose it's just one or more ports these days, like the Dutch government has at AMS-IX.

CreamK said:

The SIGINT side of this all is still completely overlooked. You can copy every bit coming from fibers without anyone noticing it in either end. Hell, you can't see it happening between two closest nodes... All you see is a slight drop in the signal levels as few photons are separated from the original stream and then amplified before it's sent thru the same network as regular traffic.

Glass How-to: Getting Started

probie says...

Fair point. And it certainly is a personal thing with me. There's just something annoying about someone sticking their nose into what I do, then using it for personal gain and to further the market of manipulation and influence that is capitalism. We're certainly headed for those scenes in Minority Report; can't walk down the street without being inundated, or touch a cereal box without being pestered. I tell ya, that's the day I go postal.

John Howard on Gun Control

chingalera says...

I currently own no guns but live in a home with several. Guns are for killing if they are used for killing.

Postage stamps are for availing oneself of the services of a postal concern.....OR for philatelic insects to collect, trade, admire, store, pass down to future adepts, etc. etc. etc.

No THING has only ONE purpose, ever. So no. Guns are not for killing exclusively.

Everyone trained and owning a gun works where it works-Switzerland and Israel are doing ok, huh? In Svalbard Norway it's mandatory!

G-bar said:

as a person coming from a militarized country, where each and every person will end up holding a weapon and practicing with it, there's no way around it - Guns are for killing. I'm very glad some people here (ehm ehm @chingalera) are extremely responsible and mature about the weapons they hold... too bad others hold weapons as well...

Caught a spambot in action.

How to Handle the Police When You're Videotaping

messenger says...

"We need the police." ≠ "Police can act as they wish at all times."

"We need the police." ≠ "We must excuse abusive police behaviour."

"We need the police." ≠ "The most important thing is that we take responsibility for our role in causing police to abuse their authority."

"We need the police." ≠ "We must show the police more respect than they show us."

"We need the police." ≠ "We must bend over if they get randy."

Sure we need police, but we need garbage men, postal workers and transit fare collectors too, and I don't think you would extend this tolerance of abuse towards them. Why the special pleading for the police?

VoodooV said:

Yeah ching, you're simply not a good person.

I'm not excusing their failings. spaghetti monster knows they have a lot of them, but the fact of the matter is that we *need* the police and your paranoid rage towards cops good or bad simply doesn't help things. Be part of the solution, not the problem. and yelling at them really isn't helping anything. You've got a legitimate complaint that cops have a corruptsion or incompetence problem....well work to fix it then instead of whining like a spoiled brat.

All Time 10s - Banned Video Games

Ajkiwi says...

NZ is, however, considerably more lenient about games than Australia, whose lack of an R18+ rating has resulted in numerous bans and cuts.

Bans in NZ are interesting in that the media in question has to be EXTREME to be banned: NZ has an AO rating for games which is accepted by the gaming public and regularly used.

Manhunt and Manhunt 2 were banned as "injurious to the public good", in that the only way to succeed in the game was to escalate the violence against characters in increasingly horrific manners, and the game rewarded greater and greater brutality in such a way as to desensitize the player.

Postal 2 was banned by the chief censor with the comments: "...The quantity and cruelty of the violence can be gradually accommodated and increased as the player becomes more callous and inured to the violence inflicted...The constant crass racist, sexist, and homophobic references motivate the player's crimes and tend to further encourage the player to accept and escalate the violence he or she inflicts."

Whoa.
