Lowes Truck Driver Busted With Hooker

I think you can't know WHY the prostitutes are prostituting... so that's your potential right there. The johns may also be perpetuating some damage to themselves as well.

STD's? Rape? Those would be lessened with regulation.

"These women are part of the the victims" -bt... that is very accurate, of course not always the case.

But since we can't be sure: legalize and regulate, because that is the only available INCLUSIVE option... totally identifying all constants and variabls and controlling them is a pipe dream right now.

BT has been pretty right on i dunno why the semantic games are getting so wild.

and holy shit at westy's spelling... i knew u had casual and serious mode!

*viral needs to go (Commercial Talk Post)

I completely agree. I think the viral marketing gimmick is on its last legs as well. Now it's just a corporate buzzword that every conglomerate CEO throws around to sound hip, and every single product needs a "viral" campaign now, from toilet paper to new cars.

Most of my copy-writer/ad-design friends are sick to death of viral bullshit, and after the ATHF fiasco a few years back, I think the entire concept of a viral campaign was doomed.

VS 4.0 could use some help in regards to channel assignments.

*viral needs to go (Commercial Talk Post)

If you removed all improper *virals, what would the viral channel be populated with? Not much, from the looks of it. Every time someone mentions it being crap, the consensus is that it will work out in time and that people just need to be made aware of its purpose. Mind you, I've been saying 'get rid of it' since I joined 2 years ago and nothing has changed in that time. The idea that it can be improved is a pipe dream.

Mos Def vs Christopher Hitchens

Their goal isn't a Taliban-controlled world, but an Islamic theocratic-controlled one, and to further that goal they don't need an army or air force. All they needed were a few pilots and some box cutters to inch us closer to that "holy war."

The thing the Taliban wants most of all is for people to leave Afghanistan alone.

And "Al Qaeda" is really a little pipe-dream boogie man compliments of the CIA.

The middle east, probably more than anything, just wants a major reduction of western influence and interdiction in their countries.

Three countries needed 9/11 more than anything:

1) America, for a good reason to invade Iraq,
2) Saudi Arabia, for a good reason to get US troops off their soil, and
3) Israel, to provide a long-term buffer-zone of US troops and weaponry between them and Iran.

9/11 was an inside job, and the three countries above are the prime suspects.

Haha. No worries at all. I sometimes also just think about how much I'd like something to function without considering how to implement it.

If we were a huge corporate site with a server farm or something it might be something to consider, but for now, we can just share the pipe dream.

I should have engaged my brain before asking that one - I should know better as I do a bit of programming myself

Information that's so volatile like that cannot be used to drive video listings because it just requires too heavy a load on our database. The reason is basically because it means that for every single vote that's cast (and there's nearly 2 million right now), we'd have to re-index every single video in the database (and there are tens or hundreds of thousands right now).

In reply to this comment by Deano:
Lucky, now that there is an average vote stat can this be a choice in the member listing order dropdown?

I Admit I don't know much about what happened in Lebanon post-bombing, but going on that it's a defendable position, although the consequences as can be seen in allowing Hamas to participate and win the Gaza elections can be devastating.

Untied foreign aid to Pakistan was irresponsible but I still can't really see the connection to Bhutto's assassination. I can imagine what you're implying but it sounds tenuous at best to me.

I've always thought of North Korea's nuclear belligerence as a means towards extorting foreign aid, dumping them in the axis of evil and essentially ignoring them certainly didn't help, but their behaviour almost seems inevitable anyway.

I guess I can't really rail against TV personalities rather than supposed unbiased media reporting having biased or selective opinions from ideological standpoints. I guess I'm more annoyed at that there doesn't seem to be a thirst for investigative reporting. People watch the straight out news to learn the facts, but they go to these personalities to grab an actual opinion on the events transpiring. Perhaps it's because people feel they are too pressed for time or lack enough interest to become involved, while modern culture dictates they ought to have a presentable opinion on a variety of world events leaving them with the only seemingly plausible decision of stealing someone else's. Investigative reporting ought to be there so you can make up your opinion based upon the facts at hand, and yes I know I live in my own utopian world, but it damn well doesn't hurt to dream!

Plus television the main source of news nowadays was never made and isn't really plausibly capable of conveying large amounts of facts, so yeah I guess it's basically a pipe dream. Considering that, I can't really argue with Olbermann/Maddow being an inevitable counterweight to the Bill'O's of the world, a 'they started it first' approach isn't exactly ideal but then nobody really wins elections or consensus on culturally divisive issues based upon superior policy or logic. I equally have no doubt that there are plenty of people in positions of power who have no interest in an actual debate and are entirely content funnelling points of view through their television personalities, and would very much like to keep it that way so I agree with much of what you say.

The Republicans have been wrong on most things I agree, but the divide is not just political, it's ideological. I mean you're not going to see the benefits of the free market/invisible hand being argued on Olbermann/Maddow for example.

Obama Declares Fight on Global Warming Today

To hell with clean coal. He knows it's a pipe dream, but good for getting votes. I honestly thought he was going to leave that as an unfulfilled election promise. Now I'll be hoping it will be an unfulfilled post-election promise.

As for the rest, yay!

Obama and "Joe the Plumber"

Januari says...

I agree MG he is not being greedy... but don't ask America to feel sorry for him either... There are enough really sad stories going around without having to invent them...

Interesting... he also doesn't have a licence to be a plumber... and yes... it is required in the county their buisness is located... It's an interesting article if your feeling bad for this fellow... By his own discription and excuse the pun his 'plan' to buy the buisness is more of a 'pipe dream' (ba dum bum) the moment...

I'll say it again... don't ask me if your running for president to feel bad for this guy...
