MIG 15 hydraulic failure over the Mojave Desert
So I was unclear; did the gear end up doing a gravity drop? Or did the pilot in the front cockpit initiate an emergency procedure like with a spare reservoir or something?

Better to be hurt on the ground than die in the air.
That's an odd finding. On the video, it looks like the incoming pilot landed on an apron between two pads. Even if the departing helicopter was centered, that's still awfully close. Sudden gust of wind and it might have happened anyway.
Edit: Ok, I see how the layout is.

Seems a screwy setup, to be honest. I note the satellite image shows a chopper parked even worse than the first one in the video.
The complete NTSB accident report can be found at http://tiny.cc/helichop
They didn't place all of the blame on the landing pilot, a significant contributing factor was the second helicopter being out of position. That might not have mattered on another day but the landing pilot didn't have good visibility.
2 Carnival Cruise Ships Collide In Cozumel
That was screwed up at many levels; never blew the collision alarm blasts (five, to my recollection) so the captain/harbor pilot never even knew they were in trouble.
Marvel Studios' Black Widow - Official Teaser Trailer
For those who are interested:
The Red Guardian
"Alexi Shostakov was one of the Soviet Union's most acclaimed test pilots whose heroism caught the attention of the KGB. They arranged for Shostakov to wed Natasha Romanoff , a top agent of the secret Red Room Academy, later known as the Black Widow. Intending to manipulate Natasha years after the couple’s marriage the KGB arranged for a rocket Shostakov was supposedly piloting to exploded, giving the appearance of his apparent death.
Shostakov’s “death” drove Natasha deeper into the Red Room’s service, although, in reality Shostakov, was alive and recruited into the KGB. He was given the identity of the Red Guardian, a costumed heroic guise first assigned to Aleksey Lebedev (aka Volodymyr Fomin) during World War II by Soviet Premier Josef Stalin, but the costume had become the property of the Red Room. Through the Red Guardian, the Russians hoped to hone a national hero to represent them just as Captain America (Steve Rogers) represented the USA. During Shostakov’s training the Black Widow, who was again using her maiden name turned against her superiors, and defected to the USA, becoming romantically involved with Hawkeye (Clint Barton) of the Avengers."

FYI. iTunes has its pilot episode for free. I just finished watching it. Not bad! No dialogs at all too.

Footnotes
First, B-17 #909, which completed 150 successful combat missions over Europe crashed last week---during an exhibition flight. Multiple fatalities. incredibly sad. The world's most experienced B-17 pilot was at the controls and they'd lost an engine when it crashed on the return approach to the runway.
Second, night missions for B-17s were rare, in part because of American doctrine--daylight precision bombing...
Who launched the drone attack against Saudi oil facilities?
There are commercially available drones that have a large enough cargo capacity off-the-shelf to for delivery of a big enough explosive to start a fire that could be quite destructive if delivered to the right location. Just $5k or $10 will be enough for each aircraft itself. Depending on how close the pilots want to be they could go as cheap as $1k for each drone, maybe lass.
Lucky for the Yemeni the technology in this video won't be available for another 3-5 years....

How much does a drone racing pilot make? That was a helluva nice house. =)
RJ85 Fire Fighting extreme near miss
damn, you'd think the co-pilot would be fixated on the altitude, flying towards a ridge like that. The FAA will be calling I'm sure.
