Racism in the United States: By the Numbers
Here, take as long as you want. All the info and sources are exactly where he says they are, in the YouTube description. I've copied them here for you. If he hadn't provided all of these I might be inclined to agree with you. But he did provide the evidence, so you don't just have to believe the buzz words, you can actually check it out for yourself.

On average, black men's prison sentences are 20% longer than white men's for comparable crimes: http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB1000142...

African Americans are far more likely to be stopped and searched (although the contraband hit rate is higher among white people) in California: http://articles.latimes.com/2008/oct/...

Also, this news story has some great analysis: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/25/bus...

Nonvideo recommendations: I really like Roxane Gay's work in Slate and The Butter; this story in the NYT http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/25/bus... Chris Rock's recent interview at http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news..., and Ashley Ford's commentary and analysis: https://twitter.com/ismashfizzle. Also Kiese Laymon's wriitng is great, including http://gawker.com/my-vassar-college-faculty-id-makes-everything-ok-1664133077
"By the numbers", which means "recent surveys", "studies have shown", "a nationwide poll", "let's look at some data", "overwhelming evidence has shown". All the statistical buzz phrases. I would rather see this issue presented in a ponderous TED presentation than this overly glib Michael Moore cartoon short.
To be clear, my problem is with the messenger, not the message.
Pop 101 by Marianas Trench
The music posted here on the sift is a good antidote to that There is a little pop music, but also a wide array of different and interesting pieces.
NPR Music's Tiny Desk Concerts are a really good example.
I hate that even this version of what they are parodying is so damn catchy.
Our ears have been trained from a young age to accept ear sugar like this.
I'm Just A Bill vs Executive Order - SNL
Did you shout how it was treasonous when Regan did it in 86 for 3million?
Or do you think that was different somehow (maybe just because 'Saint Regan')?

And do you not understand these people are all already here working, so they won't be takin' anyone's jerb? Because they are. Now they'll just be paying taxes, so you'll pay less, and they are not getting full access to services (like Social Security) for it. How are you not on board with that?!
I will say, I wish their culture would change from large families to two child or less families...but that's a completely different issue.
What Obama did was disgraceful. A few hundred or few thousand is one thing but 5 million is reprehensible. That's 5 million less jobs for the poor. Tomorrow their children grow up and take your job. That boarders on treason.

Teller Speaks! - Penn & Teller Ice Bucket Challenge
Yeah, he's not super strict about it...it seems to just be part of the act and most of the time we see him they are appearing as "Penn & Teller". When he is doing his own thing like promoting a book he wrote he has done radio interviews on NPR.
Then there's also the ending of their movie Penn & Teller Get Killed.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver: Native Advertising
@ChaosEngine
A bit off-topic, but you can get access to Netflix in pretty much any country that has internet access if you use the Hola unblocker extension for either Firefox or Chrome. We use it here in Japan with my old PC hooked up to our HDTV via HDMI and love it.
More on-topic, this video is specifically addressing news--no one is willing to pay for news because thanks to the Internet and all the ways we can interact with it (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), "news"--as in just the facts--is freely available in seconds moments after it occurs.
Of course, really good reporters don't just provide the facts but also provide background, context, and sometimes insightful analysis of the situation. But I'm not sure the majority of people care about that stuff which is why hiding it behind a paywall just isn't profitable.
I don't know what the solution to this problem is. We need veteran reporters who are free to report on the happenings in the world without external pressure to change or hide facts. Someone has to pay their salary. Right now it's corporate sponsors that are ponying up. Even NPR receives a pretty hefty chunk of its funding from corporate sponsors. Like John is saying in this video, it's not really a problem if there's a wall between the sponsors and the news.
Maybe publicly funded news is the way to go? Something akin to BBC but that's legally insulated from government influence and provides "free" (you'd technically be paying for it with your taxes) news reporting.

It might help to make a better description of the video or something... Basically, N. Korea is up in arms about this video, and wanted China to stop it from going Viral, ala the Streisand Effect : http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2014/07/21/333771446/north-korea-is-not-pleased-dance-video-features-kim-jong-un

And yet, wouldn't ya know it, that is precisely how people got alcohol during the U.S.' aimless Prohibtion.. from their doctors (as medicine) or from the pastors (as sacrament), or as homebrews.
I always thought the biggest mistake for the path of legalization was declaring it a medicine. Imagine if you could only buy alcohol via a prescription from your doctor? Ridiculous.
I hope we shake the BS-infection from our society someday...
