In 'N Out (and not the fun kind) (Blog Entry by kronosposeidon)
"So if it comes down to playing around at VS or spending my time with son, it’s no contest, really."
Is this why you're in the lounge all the time..? We're seeing you there every day!
Hehe, I'm just jacking ya. It's probably a good priority you've got going. See you around.
Siftquisition of Member BillOreilly (Siftquisition by blankfist)
I submit before the court that:
The accused has had an opportunity to present his case but has chosen instead to plea "no contest" and leave this site:
http://documentaries.videosift.com/talk/I-m-tired-of-being-victimized
His guilt is irrefutable.
Justice having already been rendered, this SiftQuisition should now be ended.
John Williams' greatest themes
Both of the other composers listed her... hmmm, let's put their themes up against William's themes in a popular recognition poll.
There's no competition at all, Williams has created more memorable/iconic movie themes than any other composer. There are other brilliant composers out there (I love Hans Zimmer's work), and there are themes which will be instantly recognizable to most people that are written by others. But a single composer writing so many themes that are so well known... come on, no contest.
MUST SEE Richard Dawkins Interview
>> ^quantumushroom:
Humans are creatures of imagination and emotion, and listening to Dawkins talk about DNA, while interesting, will never replace religious storytelling.
Maybe not Dawkins / DNA specifically, but I find science far more interesting than any religious story. I've always been awestruck when considering the scale and complexity of the universe, the unimaginably slow movements of galaxies colliding, the strangeness of things close to absolute zero, etc etc etc. Religion is either largely or entirely composed of made up stories about people doing stuff.
"Hey, so god was going to flood the planet to kill everyone (because he loves us), but he didn't want all the animals to die so he had some guy build a giant boat to temporarily store 2 of each of them."
vs
The Hubble deep field.
No contest.
On the other hand, if there is a creator who will someday judge us and eternally reward or punish us, may it have mercy on my foolish blasphemous self. Also, some irrefutable evidence for your existence would be nice pleasedon'tsmiteme.
Killer Whale pwns Great White Shark
Orcas are double the size of Great White Sharks, so there's really no contest, is there?
I like sharks better... they're not dicks like orcas.
Sen Levin destroys Harold Ickes at RBC
^It all should be very obvious. I think you hit the nail on the head, and it's why I'm pissed at the whole thing. Instead of sticking to their principles they just rolled over and took it. The news casters kept saying how this proved the Clinton's no longer owned the party because she didn't get her way 100%, if this were anyone else it'd be the no contest it should have been.
Siftquisition: Quantumushroom (Sift Talk Post)
Is this really that hard?
We (as in admins or the community) is left with two obvious options
1) Downvoting is free (once you earn it), no scrutiny what-so-ever. Then qm's actions are legal, if childish.
2) Downvoting must represent an opinion of a video. This means that any suspecion, like this, of abuse must be taken up in a siftquisition.
I much prefer option 2, and it seems most people here does that as well. In that case, this must be deemed abuse, unless qm explains and absolves himself. If there is no response, he pleades no contest and must be punished accordingly.
This particular precedence is a bit disturbing, however, because we would have to set up safeguards against it happening again... maybe, if everyone gave up a little bit of freedom, we could be protected from such terrorism.. heh, that last one was a joke, but we would have to be ready to line up another siftquisition at a later date, if someone else tries these shennanigans.
GI JOE PSA Remix - Carnival (1 of 25)
um, BODY MASSAGE is the best, no contest.
Cooking Class with DJsunkid (Food Talk Post)
MH is man on man, and winklers' on to peckerinos, What happened to my question about long-pig smoking???!!!
Long-Pig.....Human, this works fine, no contest needed.....
Bo Jackson - Arguably the Best Athlete of all Time
Lionel Conacher, no contest. All-starred in football, hockey, baseball, lacrosse, boxing, and wrestling.
Sir David Attenborough on God
He is far less confrontational and argues from a positive support of evolution rather than Dawkin's negative anti-religious stance.
After all, Dawkins has only spent a mere 30 years writing science books that explains evolution like noone else can reasonably hope to to You really should dig deeper in the Dawkins' library if you think he's all about bible bashing atheism. Read "The Ancestor's Tale" , Its a 650 page book and there's hardly a word about religion in there. I loved it so much I'm about to start it over. Dawkins referred to it as a "labour of love"
Other than that, Attenborough is a great, great man, his contribution to television and the public understanding of science and nature is unmatched, but ofcourse this is no contest, I say listen to them both, they are superb educators.
Ultimate Fighter Get's Knocked out and Gains the Win.
it was actually ruled as a no contest... none of the fighters won the fight and they are going to schedule a rematch, even though maynard was clearly winning the fight.
Genesis & Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins 1969-1976
Best line, "Many people, at the time, thought that this would be the end of Genesis if Peter left." Those people would've been right, insofar as their good music goes. Just compare "Selling England by the Pound" with "Invisible Touch." No contest.
Carl Sagan - A Skeptical Look At Alien Abduction
"if you're going to be deliberately inflammatory you have to make it at least believable. I mean c'mon you're not even really trying now."
I'll take that as a no-contest plea to Sagan's failure.
