Real Time w/ Bill Maher Reporter Matt Taibbi Reports on DNC
I'm a bit confused about the free speech zone thing, because there were definitely protesters that made it on TV, notably in this top 15 vid.
Personally I think protesting a particular party's convention and expecting them to listen is a bit silly -- it's not a forum for discussion, it's a marketing infomercial.
Wouldn't stop me from protesting the RNC convention, but my target audience would be TV and YouTube, not the delegates.
The bit about a corporate feeding frenzy isn't a surprise, though you're deluding yourself if you think it wouldn't happen to the Libertarian, Green, or Constitution parties if they wielded 40%+ of the political power in the country. Their conventions would be the same, free speech zones and corporate orgies included.
I'd be more interested in knowing how other countries deal with the problem of corporate money leading to political influence, because here in America, everything's for sale, and anyone who says otherwise is a
communistsocialistmarxistun-American American.I know your answer blankfist...just get rid of government's influence over corprorations, and the corporations won't see a need to twist government's arms.
I think as long as money = speech, we're fucked. Hell, I think as long as we as a society see amoral selfishness as a virtue, we're fucked.

Try commenting once, just once, without using your buzzword "communism." Who knows what could happen.

These moonbats make no sense. Never have. They want to 'defend the Constitution' but destroy private property rights.
They want a gigantic government (guaranteeing an equality of outcomes) that will somehow simultaneously not encroach on their rights and step in to clean up their irresponsible messes.
I support their right to free speech 100% even as they push for fascistic speech codes for others. I'd rather know 1) where these people are and 2) what they stand for ( 1) Denver and 2) communism).
They had a chance to use FOX against itself. Result: FAIL.

^ Yes, because everyone in the world knows that protesters' first concern is always not to make a scene or offend people.
Hahahahaha!

Protest? Road, cordoned off? Permit for protest. Not violating Private Property. It it wasn't a legal protest then he cops would have been all over it before they had even had a chance to reach the convention.
Why? Because the less cameras the better.

So I'm not the only one who noticed that.

Don't mock Jenkins. He's a veteran of the Iraq War. He was stationed in the Gulf with the Yacht Force, Squadron Polo. That man is a goddamned hero!
I think they were going to give him a purple heart, but it didn't match his Members Only jacket.

Good ol' Griff Jenkins. Could they have found a dweebier,
"just stepped off my dad's yacht" looking stereotype?
