MarineGunrocks in Hijudai, Japan

MarineGunrock says...

The video starts off with local Japanese protesting our presence in their city - Odd because we went to a Japanese ISDF base. Then it's to a news cast of our gear being unloaded from Maritime readiness ships (Which are what allows Marines to wage a war/deploy to an area anywhere in the world in 24 hours). From there, it's our guns section setting up shop with laying the gun, and Cpl. Mehall using the PanTel to sight in. The Marine you see moving the ammo around hunched over is Cpl Granados, who is setting up the ammo pit and fusing rounds with Point Detonating rounds. From there it's just a random fire mission, and then the female you see was a combat photographer who was there that we let fire the gun.
After that was more fire missions, then Japanese Press.
And of course, when Marines get bored, we goof around. You see one Marine firing his homemade bow and arrow made with 550 cord and a stick. (Probably Mehall)

Sgt Day and Mehall butt heads for a minute, and then Day treats Mehall like a bitch.

Gotta love Marines, eh?

Atheists - An Increasingly Outspoken Minority

Unbelievable. I can't believe they say those things on TV. I canceled cable a long time ago and haven't seen a "news cast" in quiet some time. If it wasn't for the title card at the beginning of the video, I would have thought this was satire.

This video is awesome because it shows how insane people are.

I guess some people seem to automatically think its a actual human-sized thing that is actually blurry. When obviously, objects in real life are not blurry. Blurriness indicates it is close to the lens.

My first intuition (and apparently I'm not alone) is that it is a bug on the camera. So I don't understand how you can do a whole news cast on it and not even mention that, and instead only have people saying "its a plastic bag!" or "its angels!".

I think that's the point bigbikeman - it wasn't made by just anyone, anywhere. It was part of one of the only news casts on US television that has any credibility left.

Theo - I disagree that Lehrer should have called him on that. It's the editorial part of the show and he is not acting as editor, but moderator. The fact that Shields didn't call him on it suggests that the reaction here (particularly to that terribly edited quote in the description) is pretty clearly overblown.

A strippers endrosment of Ron Paul

BicycleRepairMan says...

What a totally unbiased news cast. I guess Fox isn't alone.

There is nothing wrong with some bias, as long as its clearly stated, as indeed this guy does in the very first sentence he utters. The problem with FOX is that its an ENTIRE NETWORK, not just one host, one show, once in a while, but the entire network that even prides itself as "Fair and Balanced", that consistently favours one side. If it was just Bill'O once in a while, that'd kinda be fair enough, even if the guy would still be an embarrassment.

On a different note, I'd love it if it came down to Ron Paul VS Mike Gravel. Then we'd actually have a RACE, with some interesting debates.

Fox spreading the idea that Mr Rogers was a bad influence

swampgirl says...

Ignorance, pure and simple. Do none of these people ever watch his programs? They don't get him at all?

Mr Rogers wasn't preaching material entitlement regardless of merit, he was talking about compassion and caring. Love damnit, and ALL children are entitled to that!!

The problem with this channel, other than it's news casting, is it's desire to emulate the WW2 Generation wanting to represent a contrast to the Baby Boomers. They are failing to instill hard working/strong ethic images with this rhetoric, they're just looking stupid here.

Mr. Rogers never went out to replace parenting, he simply cared about children's feelings. Let's look back to what motivated Mr Rogers to go into television. He was going to be a Presbyterian minister, but he became interested in television. It was a new medium. He had an amazing gift for compassion that children were drawn to, so he felt called to minister...YES, MINISTER to them.

His mission was to let all children know that they were born special people worthy of love and respect as human beings.....AND THEY ARE! They don't have to earn that, it's immoral to teach them otherwise. If a child is not thriving or learning to be a responsible person, it is the parent's doing.

This is no different than parents blaming sexual/violent TV and violent video games for their children's bad behavior. It's so tiresome listening to folks thinking that we can blame anything or anyone for their lack of leadership in their children.

Shameful, If we could pick one representative for Mankind to show what the human heart is capable of showing...I would pick Mr. Rogers.
