The Official MycroftHolmz Roast! (Parody Talk Post)

MycroftHomlz says...

Thanks for contributing to my roast everybody. Good times, Good times. I am going to go through and thank everyone in reverse order, because you have to pick some sort of metric.

Dag: Sadly, your biggest contribution was to "Unsticky" this thread, and be a major buzz kill. From your sifts, it seems that is something you are naturally good at. I see you as a teenager, being the kid who told on his friends when they tried pot the first time. Kudos.

Fjnbk: Very clever. Making fun of my horrible spelling...Hello! Look at your name.

Rottenseed: I practically had to spoon feed you that. At least MG picked up on it quickly... Oh, I get it you are special needs. That was very funny rottenseed. Thank you.

JAPR: Your contributions impact can best be described by an interaction between W and Z bosons... go on, look it up.

Zeph: I imagine your name is derived from the greek god Zephyrus. No doubt, like your namesake, you, too are married to your sister.

CaptainWillard: If your thoughts were a ship they would be the Titanic. What exactly are you the captain of? I imagine it is just the name the dancers gave you some seedy strip club you frequent. Probably because you stink of dead fish and wear a captains hat. If I ever see you on the street I will be sure to give you some change.

kronosposeidon: Yeah, its true. She and I don't talk anymore.

Fedquip: The magnitude of your lameness can only be described as canadian.

Karaidl: No doubt that took you a half hour to write. Maybe you should try that beer, oh wait you can't drink yet. That is punishment itself.

Silvercord: I guess that makes us brothers.

Doc_M: Genetics is a lie. The world is only 4000 years old and Darwin recanted on his death bed. There. Hah. You are probably crying.

The movie took a lot of time explaining the different entities involved in searching for David Pearl in "A Mighty Heart". It even dealt with the friction between India and Pakistan – a friend of the Pearls is Indian. The drama follows each interrogation by the head of the police in Pakistan (actor who was the dad in “The Namesake”). The violence of the interrogations is minimized. You know people are being tortured, but it is not in your face. I’ll be interested to hear how others perceive the film.

“September Dawn” is the one about the 1857 massacre of a wagon train of emigrants by Mormons.

Yes, I did see “The Black Book.” I also rented some older Paul Verhoeven films.

Last Friday we got “The Valet” and “Paris, Je T’Aime” (It was fun to watch the different directorial styles - 20 directors directing 18 shorts).

I been meaning to see that film. The topic interests me, I wonder if they did it justice, as when I heard about it being picked up it just felt explotational to me.

I haven't heard of September Dawn.

I recommend catching The Black Book by Paul Verhoven. Wonderful film.

Tuesday night I went to a screening of "A Mighty Heart." It's a complicated story to tell, but I managed to follow the flow chart. Some folks got tired of it and left.

Tomorrow night our local film society is screening "September Dawn."

Paul McCartney teaches the world how to cook mashed potatoes

Paul, my namesake, was always my favourite until more recently. I've come to appreciate the songwriting and guitar innovation of George and the under-rated drumming of Ringo. They were a hell of a combo, but the more I learn about the greatest rock-pop group of all time, the more I dislike the enormous egos of Paul and John. True, they are both arguably geniuses at their profession, but, let's face it, they were both enormous (insert insult here).
