Essentially below certain temperatures superconductors cannot have a magnetic field inside its body (I still don't know why), so the magnetic field flows "around" the superconductor, looking kind of like what air looks like going over an airplane wing. I am disappointed that some people can so readily decry just about anything as antisemitism. "Silly" was the harshest word I used, and I think most things about any religion are just that. I didn't even mention that I think they are self-righteous, arrogant, delusional, hate-filled, racist, sexually-repressed misogynists.

I'm an anti-theist, not an antisemite. Big difference. Also, human beings invented the Golden Rule centuries (millenia?) before they invented Jesus, and Confucius wrote it down long before Matthew did.

I have always wanted to make a plot of federal funding for science plotted as a function of year for the last 50 years.
My suspicion is that Bush was one of the worst supporters of scientific research.
On a separate but related point, I also suspect that major contractions at government research institutions (like NIST, Argonne, Los Alamos, Lincoln labs, etc) occurred during this time, making the places older on average and thereby less apt to do cutting-edge research.
I firmly believe that funding science is correlated with economic prosperity. And that academic and government research can lead to innovation in the private sector. I think this is the primary reason I could never support a candidate that advocated the dismantling or castration of government science.

I agree with @MycroftHomlz for the most part. It's right on the border though, there's nothing overtly sexual, but still.

Well if that quote is where I think it is from, Mycrofthomlz has a solid case. This is just girls topless, different story is there might of been a pie chart or two in the back ground.
